My husband and I recently found out we are having a girl. I am twenty weeks and very excited. I'm just happy everything is going okay. My husband wanted a boy (of course) so when it comes to names he gives me no response. I really like the name mable. My family hates it but I think it's really cute, old fashion, different yet not too out there. What do you think?
Re: Found out gender what do you think of name....
Your husband is pouting so I don't think he gets a vote. Just start calling baby Mabel!
I love old fashioned names though. My daughter is Molly. And I want Stella for the next

I didn't tell anybody my son's name until after he was born for this exact reason. I loved the name we chose and I didn't want anyone's silly opinion changing my mind. Don't worry what others think and do what makes YOU happy!
Definitely NMS. I realize it's probably the point, but it just seems so old lady-ish to me. There are plenty of "old fashioned" names that don't sound like granny is back in kindergarten, and that's what Mabel says to me.
All that to say, my opinion really doesn't matter in the naming of your child. If you really like it then go for it!
