I've also struggled with infertility and loss and it can be very very hard when you don't get something that's supposed to be a basic biological imperative and you see people all around you doing it easily. The thing to remember is that their fertility has no bearing on your own. There aren't a set number of babies to be born, they're not stealing anything from you.

And, one of the main reasons I try very hard not to judge is because, beyond just trying to be a good person, it's not worth the psychological toll it takes on me.

Also, when you've dealt with IF or loss, you get a lot of people telling you that maybe 'it wasn't meant to be' or somesuchshit, which is all about judging whether you are worthy of a baby. There are still arguments (really really stupid ones) about whether certain IF treatments are 'morally correct' or if we shouldn't just learn to live childless. Whether we 'deserve' to have kids. It's a shitty thing to say. Even if you're dealing with people in your life who aren't making good choices (and can you cut them out or at least to a bare minimum is they're affecting you so much?), talking about who deserves kids will get the side-eye on here.

This isn't related to the bs post that OP started... but...

@divinemsbee I just recently started lurking, and I wanted to thank you for this comment. It is a really helpful perspective for me as we start the TTC journey - which isn't going so smoothly for us at the moment. It speaks directly to some of the feelings I have been having about it lately.

Thank you. They're holding her for a few days but she's doing better. Long story involving 3.5 years of staph infections after a routine surgery. She's been fine for a year and suddenly her abdomen swells up with infection again. Certainly hasn't been the best day but not the worst either.

Sorry, hope your mom feels better soon.

My MiL is on her second surgery from a staph Infection but hers cause a hole in her bowel. The infection came back also! That's crazy- your mom doesn't have any mesh in here abdomen does she? That's what they think is causing her infection.

Actually she had some mesh stuff in there from when she had me that did cause one infection. Supposedly a year ago they took everything out so this time he said there was no old mesh, sutures, or anything else. He isn't sure why it keeps happening. It's getting pretty old though.

@spragglefrock‌ I keep seeing commercials for lawsuits involving pelvic mesh...maybe it's something to look into if she's having so many issues. I'm not one to jump straight to a lawyer but it sounds like there are a lot of issues with that stuff

@spragglefrock‌ - I think the doc needs to dbl check. I'm not questioning doctors competency at all, but MiLs dr said he took a lot of the mesh out but some of it had basically become part of her with muscle and tissue,making it more of an issue to remove. He said it looks like it belongs there. Maybe some was unnoticed? I hope she feels better soon! Mil has a vacuum in her fistula helping with infection. You and your mom are in my thoughts!

@SpartanChick88‌ - this is has brought up to us too. We're going to look into it bc this all really seems to be from the mesh. We aren't lawyering up kinda of people, but she's spending thousands(!!) getting better. Medicare (Medicaid?) don't cover that much
