More mud on the walls. Plus my husband missed two giant cracks when he mudded the hallway. So instead of painting tonight after Tali went to bed, we just mudded more. I was hoping to get the top part of the house done this long weekend my husband is trying though, I need to cut him some slack or this is going to be a bad weekend for both of us.

You could always thank him with a shower :x
Bahahahaha! I would but our main shower is out of commission! We can't shower in there until the paint is dry! The other one is too tiny and we are both too big! Lovely suggestion though we all know just how much I love shower sex )

Even better! You could be like, oh, how about a nice shower honey? Oh darn! Forgot we can't!
Both of our toilets in our new house are cheap. They clog constantly, and we can only poop in one of them. I called a plumber and he said they are literally the cheapest toilets you can buy. I really don't feel like spending money on new toilets right now!
MH replaced the toilets in our house this spring. The first one took a bit of time as it was the first one he's ever replaced, but the second one went really quick. And our water company was offering rebates so we got $50 per toilet replaced. The new toilets we put in were about $150 to purchase. So it was a good deal.
That's not bad at all! I worry about DH's ability to do the replacement on his own though. He's not at all handy.
Sorry I'm slow in responding. MH is not very handy either, but it's pretty easy. It was just lifting the old toilet off, replacing one little wax ring thingy, then lifting the replacement toilet in place. He used a YouTube video from Home Depot to show him how to do it. Just googled replace toilets and it's one of the first videos that pops up.

Instead of replacing the whole toilet, look into just replacing the 'innards' like the pump and flusher. It was quite cheap ($20?), quick, and I was able to do it myself. I don't know if it would fix your problem, but it turned my ensuite toilet from one I'd never use to a place I'd be happy to poop...if I ever could.
I am having one of those trying-not-to-stress-but-if-I-don't-will-anything-get-done moods. We've never ever had pest problems but other apartments in our building have. The pest control company that building management has hired came to inspect a few weeks ago - that did NOT go well either - and although they found nothing here they decided to treat the whole building. Three treatments over the course if a month. I didn't think much of it until I read the instructions for preparation. WTAF! Has anyone lived through this? I had to stop reading and wait for DH to come home because I could feel myself panicking! There's so much prep which is just mayhem and mess, and we just settled our teeny tiny space for the arrival of LO. DH did call and explain that a very stressed out pregnant lady lives here and we have no bugs. He said he'd only do one treatment but still I'm freaked. We only have 3 days now, I don't want to worry about this shit and strangers in my hone and toxic chemical shit! I hope typing this out relieves some stress so I can actually sleep. Phew, sorry, long!
My husband and I were offered free baseball (cardinals/cubs) tickets tonight and so we took a shuttle downtown for the game. We were trying to meet our friends to get the tickets when there was a major downpour, soaking us through our clothes. There is this big complex near the stadium called Ballpark Village, it's mostly bars and restaurants, so we pushed inside. Well to keep it short it was basically hundreds of drunk people and club music. Yay. One guy grabbed my arm and asked me if my water broke. (Get it? Cause my bump was wet.) I'm not generally violent but I almost hit him.
Ohh shingles are the worst. I had my first and only outbreak of them while I was going through my CP (I guess the stress of it brought it on). So painful. Did you get the meds for them?
This is more skeevy than stabby but... Have a friend from out of town staying over, we got Indian takeout, spent $45 on all kinds of funky and delicious stuff and.... Midway through my chicken korma I find a dead bug in my food. I picked it out and we both stared at it, hoping it was a raisin or something, but no, it had legs and feelers.
SSKKKEEEEEEVE!!! BARFFF!!!
I called the restaurant and they basically said, it was probably just cardamom, we don't have bugs, bring it in and show us.
*sigh*
Never mind. I'm not picking it out of the trash and spending any more time with it. It's not worth $12.
@heisenberg - omg! Keeping fingers and toes crossed that baby stays inside until you are home. When do you leave? Have a safe trip and we will be here too.
My in laws want us to come over so my husband can show them how to us their phones. Again. After spending over 8 hours so far doing this. We are trying to get shit done this weekend so we have a liveable space. I don't want to go over we were there all week because of the renos. He could have showed them then!
Honestly, I've been more stressed before. This isn't stress I cant handle and the first time it happened I wasn't stressed at all. I wasn't even thinking of anything stressful. It just seems weird to me. The one I had last night was from stress but the other two, nope! I swear I'm a sane person! Lol!
@Maelara - sometimes I get panic attacks out of nowhere. I blame hormones. I also think it is my body's way of making me take a time out. Sometimes my brain is more stressed than I realize and this transfers to my anxiety attacks. I hope you get a chance to take care of you and the attacks go away. Big hugs!!! >:D<
I'm having a great weekend, but was just super stabby to a woman at the grocery store out of nowhere. She had a table set up with wine samples and asked if we wanted to sample wine. I just shot her a glare and a snappy "NO."
DH ended up working a 10 hour day. He is on call so he goes in on weekend day mornings to check the water and sewers (he works as a power lineman for our small city). This normally only takes a few hours max.
He gets to be home for 2 hours before in rolls a severe thunderstorm. It knocks out power to almost the entire town. So, he is at work again. He called and said that we should be turned back on soon.
Our yard (and the rest of town) is destroyed by downed trees. Luckily, the one that fell in the backyard missed DH's pick up. And everything missed our house.
There's a brand new outlet mall about 25 min from my house. They just opened last weekend and the ads have been bragging up how awesome the deals are (especially since it is grand opening AND an outlet mall AND labor day weekend). Hubby and I both needed new shoes and wanted to try to score some deals.
Turns out its a BEAUTIFUL outlet mall, but the "deals" are not really "deals" at all. I found two pairs of shoes there that I already had and they were MORE money then what I paid for them! I fought crowds in several stores and really didn't find anything I would consider a "deal." Wish I wouldn't have wasted the drive there and back.

Thank God nothing hit your house or H's truck!! Poor guy must be super tired by now. Hope he gets to come home soon.
To those having unexplained panic attacks... It could be gall bladder issues. Happened to a coworker. Brought on by Chinese food at work one day.
I had my gallbladder taken out when I was 17 weeks pregnant with my daughter my attacks were very painful and caused extremely violent vomiting. But my gallbladder was mush by that point!!
@silverwings72 I wish any of us were home. I have DD and SD with me at my sister's house. He is still working. we may not have power until late tomorrow or Tuesday. Our town is trashed. When he gets a break, he does have a place to stay in town with power.

Your poor DH! Thank goodness for for your sister's house!! Hope power goes on soon and H stay safe out there!

We have power and came home early this morning. DH is hard at it again. Poor guy has a long day ahead of him again. But he got to see the girls this morning.
I'm a nursing assistant at a nursing home. Doctor put me on light duty which means no heavy lifting so instead they give me a combative restless resident to take care of one on one! And to top it all off they forced me from day shift to evening and told me if I wanted my job I had no choice! (
@Kristy774 - Thanks! It's a mild case, thankfully, though I seem to be one of the "lucky" ones that gets the nerve pain after-affect.
@jessa1228 - I did, but it was far later than they suggest to start them for any appreciable effectiveness. The first person I spoke to about the rash (over the phone) said to just "wait a week and see if it went away", so I wasn't properly diagnosed until well after the onset of the rash.
I'm having a hard time concentrating on the remainder of this thread, as croissant donuts stopped me dead in my tracks! What are these and where do I get one????? @Jan1214
I'm embarrassed that I know this, but they are at Jack in the Box of all places.
