Both of our toilets in our new house are cheap. They clog constantly, and we can only poop in one of them. I called a plumber and he said they are literally the cheapest toilets you can buy. I really don't feel like spending money on new toilets right now!
Mine is directed at my husband. He is seriously the most handy guy. But he sucks at drywall, especially the mudding part. He used the tape for the seams and it bubbled really badly. You can't fix that and have the wall look good now our nice new bathroom looks like a handyman special.
While we are in california, the painters are coming to paint my room! I now have to take down everything I have put up for the baby. ugh, On the bright side, I will have a navy and gray room when I get back. Goodbye pink walls!
I have a really bad cold. Youngest DS has a bad cold too but then threw up when he woke up this morning, soooooo this sucks. Then he threw a fit because we were going to a friends BBQ today and we can't go and now he's sick and upset. And I feel like crap and I can't breathe, and my house is a disaster, there are still boxes to be unpacked.
I'm going to add in here that I'm feeling a lot better about my moms test results this Friday. I've done a lot of research and spoke with 2 genetic counselors, the odds she was given (50/50) don't seem to be correct. She could have misunderstood what the counselor told her, that wouldn't be crazy if she did. I've also been praying a lot and God has relieved me of my anxiety. Not completely, but I'm so much better then I was a couple weeks ago.

I'm glad you are feeling better about everything. I'm still thinking of you and your mom each day. I hope everything comes back negative on Friday!!
Bathroom/construction related, the cat is pulling up the tile floor in the bathroom...i hate those tiny tiles anyway but I don't have the time or money to repair OR redo the whole thing.

Can you just peel and redo? The mesh tape works pretty well (do you know what I'm talking about here?).
I suggested that already! He says it looks fine and the mirror will cover most of it I prefer the mesh tape, we used it on all our other reno's but apparently now he must use that other crap stuff. Gah! He also just got mud all over our brand new floors. I might lose my shit today.

MH replaced the toilets in our house this spring. The first one took a bit of time as it was the first one he's ever replaced, but the second one went really quick. And our water company was offering rebates so we got $50 per toilet replaced. The new toilets we put in were about $150 to purchase. So it was a good deal.
That's not bad at all! I worry about DH's ability to do the replacement on his own though. He's not at all handy.

This is where I would just go ahead and redo it myself then. I'm stubborn like that and get twitchy when things look less than perfect and uneven.
Don't worry about the floors though. That will wipe up.
I'm not gonna lie, I did this when he redid our basement bathroom. He did use the mesh tape but he used old mud and it wasnt working. I finally just figured it our for myself and did it. From now on, we are paying someone to do this! I'm tired of things looking terrible. Especially when it time to sell the house.
I did wipe all the mud off the floors. We just had the flooring installed and grouted and the grout is still curing so it can't get wet and one of his globs fell right on the grout. I don't know why he didnt just put plastic down. We have tons! Thankfully it's on a spot that will be under the new vanity and the grout is almost done during so it shouldn't be too terrible. I just want this reno to be done (
Seriously ready to stab the bitchy pharmacist at Walgreens. The pharmacy told my client that they had tried to contact my office repeatedly to get rx approval, when in fact, they haven't called or faxed at all. My patient needs his seizure meds and they will run out tomorrow. I finally called myself and the pharmacist LIED to me and said that they didn't tell the owner that and got all nasty with me.
Umm the owner requested the refill 5 days ago and it's still not approved. Clearly your pharmacy is screwing up somewhere. Thanks for not apologizing for throwing my office under the bus and then telling me that you have no control over what your staff says.
Thanks @Becks517 I have another one. So I'm sick and DS is sick and I never set up trash removal at the new house....so we've been here a week now and there's a lot of trash in the garage. And now it's a holiday weekend. And I have no one to get my trash and DH is aggravated with me (understandably) because this was my job. So he says to put the trash in the expedition and take it to the dump, but the expedition is full of stuff DH didn't take out of it, (like shelves ect). I'm sorry I know I probably sound like a princess but I'm not taking everything out of the expedition to then load 10 bags of trash into the expedition to then have to unload it at the dump. I'm nervous about bugs and mice getting into the garage to get to the trash and then getting in to the house. Ahhhhh!!!! No trash removal services are answering their phones this sucks.
Edit to add DH isn't home, he's working or he would do it.
The tree by our apartment, the one that's literally 5 feet from our door and touches the building, has been struck by lightening 3 times in 6 months and management won't take it down. Every time it's struck our internet is blown out, which seems like a first world problem, but we've had to pay to replace our router each time.
Sounds like you need a surge protector. It would be a good investment if you live in an area that gets a lot of storms anyway

Don't even get me started on trash service! BTDT, it sucks!
Just got home from work and picked up DH and DS to Go grocery shopping and Home Depot. I was trying to make DS try to pee on the potty before leaving but DH intervened and said he was fine and recently went. On our way he suddenly has to pee and now DS and I are waiting for DH to "run into Home Depot". He swore it would only take a second but has been over 10 minutes. Hope he comes back to a soiled toddler...
1. My normally very sweet and supportive husband has been a weak, whiney, mopey, poopy-head dickhole all fkn week. We haven't spoken more than a dozen words to one another until today (which resulted in tears followed by more icy silence). I have zero sympathy for him or the situation in which he put himself, and even less tolerance for his childish antics.
2. These BH contractions are relentless and getting to be rather annoying. They finally eased up a little yesterday, but are back today with a vengeance every few minutes! It also feels like the baby is raking her little razor claws across my cervix every time she rolls from one side to other, which is occurring almost as often as the BH.
However ... I finally had THE poop I've been waiting for! So, you know, there's some relief.
Mine's a combo of WTF/FFFC: We finally got around to painting DS' new room (baby will be going in DS' current room), and I really do love DH to bits but he does such a half-ass job on things like this, it drives me nuts!! I was cutting in the edges and he was doing the rolling and it was all patchy as hell all over the place...it took all of my will power not to say anything and sound ungrateful, and I did the second coat myself the next day when he wasn't home!
I read about a new children's consignment store opening up today, so I figured I would go check it out. When I got there (at opening) there were at least 50 people waiting outside (it's a tiny store). Yeah, not worth it.
Then, I remembered there is another consignment shop about 15 minutes away that I'd been meaning to go to and figured I would just go there. Got there and they are in the process of moving so they were temporarily closed.
But I was going to get my consignment shopping fix this morning, damnit. So I decided to go to another store that I had been to before (about 10 minutes away). Yeah, they apparently closed for good. SERIOUSLY!?
So I figured three strikes you're out (and I don't know of any other children's consignment shops in our area), so now I'm at home eating Blueberry mini wheats and begrudgingly making my shopping list.

It's Saturday. I'm a teacher. Why am I going to the school to make copies today? Oh that's right we ran out of toner Wednesday and got more Friday at 4pm. I would have stayed and waited out the long line, but unfortunately I felt like shit bc one of my sweet germy students gave me a cold this week and a stomach bug Thursday so by Friday I was feeling worn the feeeck out.
DH announced this morning that we were out of cat litter and he was going to the store and I gave him a list and he picked up some other things we needed also (yay).
Then he said he wanted to go tailgating for the first USC home game and he was willing to take DS so I could have time to myself (yay).
Then they left and I noticed (by the odor filling up the house) the pile of cat shit on the laundry room floor next to the disgustingly full litter box. And the brand new box of cat litter on the shelf directly above said litter box. So even though I've been having tons of ligament pain and BH today, I just cleaned up all the cat stuff, refilled the litter box, and vacuum and mopped the laundry room.
Then I was using the dustbuster and I guess it was so full that it popped open just as I was finishing up and hair, food, and dirt flew all over the entry way floor. FML.
Someone please keep me off zulily! I seriously buy something almost every day! I'm an addict and I really need to stop.
Oh man, same here. Did you see the Halloween maternity shirts today? I really want to buy one but with an EDD two days before after Halloween I'm afraid I won't get to wear it.
Rant: I made oatmeal Nutella cookies today and burned the bottoms on nearly all of them >:P
DS (16 months) has been waking up at night again (2-3 times a night) all week. He goes back to sleep after 5-10 minutes, however my insomnia then keeps me up for HOURS!
Last night he went down at 8 and woke at 7:30 (yay) but our dog (5 pound yorkie) woke us at 5am by barfing in our bed!
I feel like complete crap today. I had such a bad stomachache last night (it felt like I was in the middle if an intense contraction that wouldn't stop) that I barely got any sleep.
DH got up with the kids this morning and then woke me up at 8 because he decided that we needed to go buy a tv.
AND my kids have been in rare form all day which is really fun when you are super nauseous.
Work keeps interfering with my nesting and my bumping.
I hate when that happens. Definitely a reason to get stabby (
I can't seem to find one decent thing to buy online for these " amazing " Labor Day sales. Anyone else find some decent deals? Nothing is jumping out at me.
I'm upset because my older sister is airing a lot of family dirty laundry all over Facebook today. I was just ignoring it, but then she started tagging me in stuff and I'm all "NO! I do not want to participate in talking about crap that happened a decade ago!" Everyone is lying about it anyway. So then she got all patronizing with me. Grr. She thinks we're best friends. Nope. Never were, never will be. Not sorry I couldn't make her wedding.
I just feel like utter crap today.
I hate when people take personal stuff to FB. I'm sorry
I'm trying to finish up 2 out of the 4 classes I have left for my BS before LO gets here. Classes just started Tuesday, and my professor is already behind her scheduled quizzes. WHY are we being tested over stuff you haven't covered yet woman?!?! STABBBBYYYYYY
This may be an UO or just me being ridiculous but I HATE when people who are NOT teachers refer to themselves as such. I feel it demeans my profession (one that doesn't get nearly enough respect in our society anyways). If you are a daycare provider, after school program worker, building substitute etc. I respect what you do and I give you credit (I couldn't spend all day long with a room full of infants)....but you are NOT A TEACHER. I worked really hard for my degree and title and am a professional. Treat my job title as such. People don't go around saying "I'm a doctor when they're not..." grrrrrrrrrrr
My daughter is sleeping like crap, I can't take it! She just turned 2. She was sleeping through the night and that was amazing. Now she's up countless times. The good news is that she'll usually go back to sleep pretty quickly once someone goes to check on her but omg kid you were doing so good, just lie back down and go to sleep! Last night she ended up in our bed at 12:30 (after like the 4th wake up we just wanted to sleep) and was out the rest of the night...but I'm all pregnant and uncomfortable and couldn't flop around as much as I needed to so I still slept bad. I can't win!
I'm not ready for the college kids to be back in town, it's good for business YAY, but it's such a pain in the ass to be busier and the added traffic. Also, today was the first collegiate home football game. The game was at 2:30PM, that means: Run your fucking ass off from 9a-1p. Then it comes to a complete halt. The afternoon & evening sucked ass, as it dragged on. Home football game also equals busy tomorrow = drunk college kids getting injured and needing to be seen when they recover the next morning. Ohhhh the joys of work
BFP#4 3/17/14 - rainbowBaby BOY arrived 11/10/14 !!
I just had a small glass of wine - my first in ages. And then I wished almost immediately that I could have two more glasses. It was almost not worth it just for that craving. I miss my wine weekend chill nights!

Sorry I'm slow in responding. MH is not very handy either, but it's pretty easy. It was just lifting the old toilet off, replacing one little wax ring thingy, then lifting the replacement toilet in place. He used a YouTube video from Home Depot to show him how to do it. Just googled replace toilets and it's one of the first videos that pops up.
Make sure to put the old toilet in the bathtub so water doesn't get everywhere. Before you take it out of the bathtub, rock it back and forth in your arms to make sure all the water is out.
More mud on the walls. Plus my husband missed two giant cracks when he mudded the hallway. So instead of painting tonight after Tali went to bed, we just mudded more. I was hoping to get the top part of the house done this long weekend my husband is trying though, I need to cut him some slack or this is going to be a bad weekend for both of us.
