The next person that I see in the hallway that stares at or comments on my blump, I will surely do the same to them. Just because I'm pregnant does NOT mean everyone gets a free pass to comment on my belly!!! I just cannot wait until the moment someone says "Ohhh your belly is starting to grow!" and I can say "Ohhh yours must have started a long time ago!". Just once I would like to have the balls to do it

HAHAHA ya I know...... "look how cute your baby bump is".... ummmm no I'm only 10 weeks. This is just the fat that I'm starting with.

I said that to the girl in the maternity store when I was trying on clothes. Guess she thought I was farther along then I actually am.... and maybe they are suppose to be all friendly and make positive comments, but it just made me feel fatter.

See, umm, here's the thing... your belly IS getting bigger. And it will continue to get bigger. I just don't get being a jerk to someone making a true statement.

I mean, if they say something actually rude that's one thing, but take a look at the HDBD thread. Blump or not, some of us look petty darn pregnant.

I had the worst poo pains ever last night and looked seriously pregnant in my tank top. I would have loved if someone thought I looked pregnant instead of just fatter.

To be fair, I totally admit to being sensitive to the comments. My last daughter was a 10 pounder and I'm 5'1... So I was looking large and in charge by the end of it all. Needless to say, everyone was pointing it out. I would never actually say something rude to someone for pointing out my belly, but I just felt the need for a self conscious rant!

Only my H has said anything, and he's all sweet like "I love how you're just barely showing with my baby..." I can't get upset by that but it's really just blump. My mom didn't show with me until 20 wks... I can't handle blump for 2 more months!

I would much rather have people comment on how cute my "baby bump" is than say I'm just getting fat. Everything is starting to push up so my belly has really popped out this past week. A "friend" said oh I can't wait till you gave a belly. I stood up to show her and she said oh it just looks like you ate too many cheeseburgers. She is lucky we were at work and she didn't get punched in the face. I was so hurt.

This past week at work a regional was in the office- haven't seen him since this past winter. First thing he said when I walked into the meeting: "are you having a baby?" ...why yes I am! I may only be in my 11th week but people who don't know are starting to tell! I am petite and this is #2 so it's not a surprise.

Embrace your bump...or blump...or bloat...you have an excuse!

My coworker told me at 8wks "my you're looking mighty pregnant today!" .. Yeah lady, I've not even begun to show and I'm not a stick to begin with.. So I looked at her and just said "what?!" And she back pedaled faster than lance Armstrong in the Tour de France. It was gratifying.

Oh and to add to this post..not many people know I'm pregnant..so I'm assuming that people are just thinking "wow she needs to lay off the junk food"

I don't think I would really mind a "round-a-bout bump comment"... Hey at least we have an excuse!!

It's impossible for people not to look when they see someone who is possibly pregnant. It's natural for people to be excited and interested. I mean think about it, would you want to be 8 to 9 months pregnant in a society of sociopaths who don't give a shit about it?

I get not liking extra attention, lord knows I don't, but it's a positive societal thing that doesn't really merit hostility in return. It beats the hell out of being a species that doesn't give a shit about pregnant women and offspring. Like spiders or something.

Yeaaaa...I think it is rude for people to comment and make assumptions, and no one should say anything unless you tell them you are pregnant, BUT people who know you are pregnant observing you are getting bigger? Why be upset and feel angry over that? IT IS TRUE. Get over it. You ARE getting bigger and you will get much bigger still and people who know you are pregnant WILL comment on it, mostly because they see it as a happy thing. Honestly, I don't get why you don't too. I love watching my body change and grow to accommodate this new life.

I don't understand your hostile feelings towards others who are noticing your body change as your baby grows.
