  I didn't read all the responses, and also didn't know you were a recovering alcoholic. I have no advice on the topic (I also have a tough time saying no), but I just wanted to say that I commend you for the journey you have been through and the path you are taking. My father is an alcoholic and I often wonder how people ever overcome it. Congrats to you!

  I'm coming in late but I wanted to say first congrats on your sobriety.
  
  Since no one mentioned it, depending on local law, if you allow someone to stay in your home and they steal from you there is little to nothing you can do to press charges. I've learned this the hard way. And her response shows that she could turn on you and your friendship quickly enough that I would not want her around my family or possessions. All her actions you described and her message indicate she's probably using again so you made the right choice.

  J'15 January Signature Challenge: Pinterest Fail: I want to do one, but I was late in starting and now I'm too lazy to get in on it. This is how most of my pinterest fails normally occur, at least I didnt buy supplies.
