  • Thought I had cramps. Turns out it's a UTI.
    My insides hate me.
  • I thought my period was back due to a little bleeding... but it never got stronger and never had cramping. Now I think that at 8 weeks pp the 30-40 minute walks Ive been allowed to start are making me bleed again. Boo.
  • I nursed DD, changed her and set her in her swing so I could workout and watch her at the same time. Mid-way through the workout, she cries because she's wet her diaper so I pause the workout DVD and change her. Then about 5 min before the workout is over (a 30 min workout) she starts fussing again because she's hungry...so I finished the workout while listening to her cry/fuss off and on for 5 min then had to nurse her with sweaty boobs. I feel bad, but she was super happy after :). Man, I just wanted a 30 min workout with no interruptions. :(. Should have known that wouldn't happen :). Oh well :). Can't imagine what it's like with more than one kid trying to exercise. Whew. How do you women do it? :). Going to have to wait until DH is home from now on I guess.

Random factoid that I remember every now and then (like tonight): when DS was about 18 months, he figured out how to Open the refrigerator.

One day, he grabbed the ketchup bottle and walked into the other room with it. I figured I would get it after I was done cooking.

We've never found that bottle of ketchup - DS will be 5 next month.

Lol! I love this story! People never tell you that toddlers create a black hole and you will lose crap permanently somehow.

Once we were missing something (I can't remember what it was) and DH decides to look in the recycling bin for it just in case DS put it in there. He didn't find what he was after in the first place, but discovered two sippy cups, a shoe, pacifiers, a CD, and a tshirt. We moved the recycling bin out of his reach.
Hahaha! When we FINALLY save up enough money to renovate our first floor we will find it...along with dozens of other things that we've lost over the years! He probably had a favorite place to put things too, and we've just never discovered it!

Ohhhhh. Cramps. Fuck. Didn't expect to run into you. Certainly not in the middle of the night. I was hoping BFing might keep you away.

It's been awhile. How ya been? Off radar? Wow, yeah no kidding. I almost forgot about you. Except when I'd turn my cart at the store, see the fem hygiene aisle the last 9 months and I'd maniacally laugh at how I don't have to deal with your sorry ass because I was knocked up.

What's that? We have a lot to catch up on? Yeah.

    Fuck you cramps.

I kind of feel duped by the whole "breastfeeding keeps your menstrual cycle from returning". This kid is on my boob for HOURS and I'm pretty sure I ovulated yesterday. Boooo.

Same boat here... so not fair, especially when I am visiting my work to say hi and it decides to show up while I'm standing there. Not fair. Guess we really do need to be careful now since I'm not using BC pills because they make me sick. Nuvaring is a no go until I finish BF. Which will be just in time to start trying again I think...lol

Talk to your doctor about nuva ring - after I had DS, my doctor said that once my milk was really established that it wouldn't affect to appreciably. I'm going to ask at my 6 week appointment. I've been on the "baby blocker vagina ring" since 2003, and i LURRRRRVE IT.

  • Rant:

DH... if I ask for your help at 12am for the first time since you have gone to work (2 weeks) it's because I really need it. LO only slept 3hrs at night and did not sleep all day. Oh and you got home at 10pm which means I spent the whole day with a screaming baby (single mothers you are amazing). Do not get uppity and tell me I can do it because I nap all day. ( Cue ugly crying from exhaustion. )

How do you think crap gets done... because I nap?!

Upside mom is coming for a visit today :)

Moms are the best :) if it wasn't for mine im not sure what id do. Being a single mom is definitely hard but so worthwhile, and the thought of not having to put up with douche bags helps ;) (my ex not your DH lol) hope you both get some sleep and have a good day with your mom.

  • nuvaring users: how much does it affect milk supply? I've heard bad things from doctors but don't know any real people who have it to see what they think.
  • We just had our first poopsplosion this morning. It required FULL wardrobe change for all parties involved (yes, I managed to transfer to my underpants), laundering of linens and a floor clean up (tile not carpet, thank Baby Jesus).
Now it's time to get in the car and get Mama some chick-fil-a breakfast! PHEW!

  • Our wedding anniversary is Saturday (6 years!) and I ordered DH a new wedding band from etsy because he lost his a few months ago (don't even get me started on his need to remove his ring to work out, cook, change a diaper, etc...).  He had a handcrafted band with a claddaugh design etched around it in white gold.  I found an artist who did basically the same thing but in titanium (no more excuses about taking it off to work out so it doesn't get scratched).  The artist was able to rush the ring so I could have it in time (ordered it Tuesday) and I added an engraving to the inside of the band.  The ring arrived today!  The band is perfect, but the engraving isn't there.  Boo!
  • I know I'm being a total bitch about this, but I'm pissed about the fact that i was made to feel guilty about not going to my ILs this weekend. I did not want to go on a long trip so soon, and DH just told me saturday that he wanted to go up...I was going to have him go up with the dogs...

So now I have to take my not quite 6 week old 4.5 hours to BFE NY when we JUST established a good night schedule and I managed to get DD to sleep longer stretches - now that all may go to shit because she'll be in a different place with a different bed, etc.

And DH is going to be working on his brother's race car and is going to be at the track for all hours drinking and he's going to be useless to me, and snore the whole fucking night saturday and Sunday.

    Crap.

  • @Matthew930‌ I feel ya. We are traveling 6 hours to ILs this weekend. I'm hoping they'll watch LO so we can have a date night. But it'll basically be a *toss the baby around* to all these strange family members over labor day weekend. Grr...
  • MSUDucks said:

I should say though, that my ILs are over, so I'm not feeling super generous. MIL cut garlic bread directly on my counter top and put long f'ing gouges on it. I really hate my kitchen but I can't afford to redo it now. So I'm going to have to live with those germ breeding cracks for a while.
    <----cranky.</p>

Omg - i would be so angry! I spend my life in the kitchen. ..

The only reason I said yes is so that I can make them come down for Christmas. I hate going up there in the winter when it is snowy - they live north of Syracuse on Lake Ontario and it snows like 120 inches a year. DH is amazing at driving in the snow, but one year it took us 8 hours to get there.

  • @Matthew930‌ are you talking about good old Classic weekend?! I live in Minetto, small world!

Haha! @ Mamanorris81 - YES! My BIL races (got third last year!). It is a fantastic weekend up there...last year was really fun b/c DS was old enough where I could go out and have some fun, and the guys let him work on the car with them so he had a BLAST. They live so close to the track that you can HEAR the race from their house!

But this year with being so tired and not sleeping for the last 6 weeks, I am just not in the spirit. I was going to let DH go by himself and have all the fun he wanted, and just stay home with the kids...and my mom was going to stay over Saturday night to help me.

But then MIL got sad and i felt guilty because we probably won't see them until the holidays now...ughhhh. so now we're all going and i'm salty about it.

All i know is that I'd better get a trip to Rudy's out of it. ;)

  • Enjoy your Rudy's! A cheeseburger hot sounds so good right now!
  • DD was in her bouncer and I was in the kitchen. I walked back into the living room and as I got closer saw a black dot ok her forehead. I just killed a mosquito on her forehead. :( I have no idea where they are coming from, I guess outside when the dogs are going in and out. She had a bite last week and got one earlier today, too. Not a happy momma! (And I feel horrible for her and like it's my fault somehow. :( )

lemongrass or peppermint oil - mozzies don't like them so a dot of that keeps them away. With no chemical ick since it's natural.
  • Since I have to pack our whole lives up to go to my ILs tonight, my mom was nice enough to take DS for the morning. After he was picked up, I was a productivity machine! In the middle of all of this, I fed dd at 8:30, and was successful at keeping her awake for a whole hour after she ate while I was running around the house getting stuff done.

I had gotten into my workout clothes and was starting to put her down into her car seat, and she barfed up what looked like her entire meal :( poor kid even got a bunch in her eye because I was in the process of laying her down when it happened.

I waited about 20 minutes and i'm topping her off so that hopefully I can go on my walk.

    The best laid plans :(

@Matthew930‌ I hope you have a good trip and Avelina stays on sleeping schedule for you! And yes, infants have a way of making our time tables their own! :)

Thanks! I never was able to take that walk - i guess her tummy isn't feeling great because sleeping in her car seat was completely out of the question, evidently! I finally got her down in her swing :)

  • Took MiniMe to the doctor. She had shots.

She behaved better than I would have done THE ENTIRE TIME. There has to be a catch so she's already in PJs and I have everything that makes her happy on standby in case she realises she's had shots and all Hell breaks loose later on. I know I should be enjoying this victory but the pessimist in me feels that someone has to suffer.
  • I feel fat, that is all!! :((

  • Yup @2lacyblue . DD goes in it for a minute or 2 before she gets bored and starts to grump. She holds her head up fine on her own so figure she can do a minute or so supervised.
  • On the 6 hour road trip to in laws. Stopped at a mcd's and a woman literally approached us and asked us to watch her food (a lunchable). Did this seriously just happen? She then approached every customer. Oy.

Has anyone tried out the bumbo yet?? DS has been holding his head up so well that I pulled it out and he really liked it! It was so adorable. He got shlumpy after a while, but now I can do way more elaborate songs and puppet shows.

My child's thighs are thick, and they don't fit well in the bumbo. Lol!!

    :-??

    We have our "Irish Twins"

    DD born 8/7/2013

    DS born 7/28/14

  • Omg - did anyone else see the article about Casey Anthony being pregnant with TWINS?! can that even be true?!
