I'm laying on the couch and drinking hard cider through a straw because it's been that kind of weekend.
I'm ready for DH to go to work tomorrow and my sister/nephew to go back to school. My sister thinks because I'm home that she can have me watch her son at a moments notice for 4 hours at a time. I just want to nap and hold my baby. And entertain no one.

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.
I'm thinking about getting bangs. I am an every other day shampoo-er though and wonder if bangs would get greasier faster than the rest of my hair? Thoughts anyone?

Dry shampoo for just your bangs
I thought about that, but I have super greasy hair and dry shampoo barely helps my day 2 hair. When I workout it's even worse. My appointment is tomorrow so I should really figure this out!
Today was my first day back at work. I've already had to go pick out and arrange some flower center piece samples. I almost lost myself in the smell of Gerber Daisies and Peonies.
You guys, this is what I do....this is what I live for.....I'm home.
"Born free!! As free as the wind blows!! As free as the grass grows!! Born free!!"...
I do miss my punkin bellies though...(DS2 and DS3 of course lol)
DH went back to work today after 7 weeks home with us, I'm sitting here alone, LO is sleeping, and instead of being thankful for the silence and down time I just feel sad and lonely =[ I am not ready for 'the real world' to start again...
Baby was fed and changed and still fussy this morning. He just wanted cuddles and to nap on me so he could have deep belly laughs in his sleep. My day is complete (at least until the next meltdown)
I love my boob-length hair, but these little fists are helping me to understand "mom cuts". I may have one eye open for a shorter 'do that would flatter me, but doubt I'll pull the trigger. I still have dreams to look like Carrie underwood, or shakira, or a blonde kardashian.
Was thinking the same thing this morning when sweet tiny fists grabbed and pulled out a chunk of my hair this morning....
I have very long hair too. I learned to keep it tied back though, I have a Lara Croft braid most of the time now. Also, those big, toothy grips that hold your hair to the back of your head and take no time to put in are very helpful.
My friend who was struggling to get pregnant is due in March. So happy for her, she's wanted this for a long time.
I cut about 4 inches off a couple weeks ago and I'm so glad I did. But, I was in an "I'm so sick of my long hair" mindset. I'm a believer that you should only cut your hair if you're 100% sick of the long hair you have now. If you have any hesitation, don't do it. I like my length now but I plan to grow it out again. This is just a fun change for now.
I experienced my first projectile poop this morning. He crapped mid diaper change and I was covered in poop from my hair to my knees. It was wild. I screamed.
My friend is a photographer and has done many sessions for me. She offered to take birthing photos at the hospital when i had LO but then i ended up getting a c section so she never showed or said anything (i hoped she would have taken some of the journey anyways minus the ones in the OR of course) needless to say i was a little bummed
My other friend just gave birth to her son two days ago and the other one went to take birthing photos for her and now they are both kind of throwing it in my face. They keep talking about and sending me proofs as if i care, they have nothing to do with me those are yours to enjoy and decide what ones you like
Oh and dont put me down for having a c section, there was no choice, thanks a lot ass hole, rub that in my face when you knew i wanted nothing more than a natural birth..
It's still August and I get excited every time some weirdo on FB posts some sort of Christmas countdown except this year it's more because that means we'll be out of the newborn phase and on our way to the more fun infant stage than because I'm actually that excited for Christmas.
How awful is it that I waited to eat dessert the last couple nights until my MIL went to bed so I didn't have to share my favorite ice cream with her? I know she could never love it how I do.
I do this, but to my children. I have a stash of mini candy bars and hidden fudge pops in the freezer My Nanny fessed up to doing this to my Mom and her siblings so it must be normal behavior
One of you lovely ladies suggested trying chamomile tea for a gassy baby and I just want to say THANK YOU! It has been a life saver!
Wait, what? I'm guessing the mother drinks the tea? Going out to buy it first thing in the morning!
@Matthew930 Nope the baby drinks it. They said their pediatrician said to give 2oz of chamomile tea with 1tsp of sugar. I skip the sugar because lo drinks it without it. I'm assuming the sugar is just to get them to drink it. I give dd this at night before bed because it seems that's when she is the most gassy and it works like a charm. I brew it like you would tea for yourself.

Omg! If this works, it would be a miracle. I just put LO down with a bubble the size of Texas inside her - couldn't get the damn thing out! She's fine during the day, but by the end of the night she's got a ton and there's nothing o can do about it
Well, shit. I woke up to a house with no running water. And this is the day hubby leaves his phone on the counter. It may be the well pump...ugh.
Oh no that sucks. My parents went on city water for that reason. Their pump from the cistern kept breaking and mom would have to hand pump it. She actually told my dad she thought the well dried up and we didn't know it hadn't (5 years later) till they moved the windmill for an addition and were like, look there's 12 feet of water in that well lol.
LO got her first vaccines today. Five shots and one oral. Had her first real baby tears which made me tear up a little, too. Here's hoping that she has an okay reaction to them and we are done with tears for the day.
That moment after you clean up a blowout and put the last touch on, in my case, his socks and you hear the unmistakable buttsplatter of another mustard explosion:
Well....I was enjoying a hot dog with mustard on it....not anymore though.
Asking for some good vibes for Alexander again. He has a feedng evaluation in the morning to determine if he needs a swallow study. It takes him about 30mins to eat a bottle, he arches and grunts while eating and seems to get winded while eating. On a side note, he will be 4 months old tomorrow....where has the time gone?
Can't stand the baby acne. It has spread to his back. I just want it to go away
are you sure it isn't cradle cap? DD has cradle cap on her face, ears, neck and shoulders - it's red bumps (one or two small crusty patches only), and the doctor said that it is cradle cap and not acne b/c cradle cap is the only "rash" that presents on the ears, and other parts of the body...
@amlonica - right after DS was born, he was inconsolable one night and we were brandy new parents so we were still trying to figure him out, and i had no idea how to get him to latch, so he was super fussy. DH had work the next day and said "what the fuck is wrong with him?!"
needless to say, he got an earful...and never again got beligerant like that again.
@Matthew930 I never thought of that. It is all over his ears too. Just red bumps everywhere and a few crusty patches in his ears. Have to try treating it differently. Thank you
I handed the baby to DH a few minutes ago to go to the bathroom. While I was gone, I heard 'Come on, kid! What is your PROBLEM??'
Mama is not pleased. Baby comes before Madden, dear. And yelling at a 9 week old so often solves the issue.
DH pulled something similar the first week we were home, it was unsettling and not like him at all. I had to set him straight because that was not flying with me and he had to learn to have some patience and console/be there for LO as opposed to freaking out when she couldn't calm down. He's done a full turn around since that first week, thank god- hoping your DH can find some patience

Thank you for posting this and whoever told you, i think i love you! I read this and decided to give it a shot, what a difference! G was SO much better and slept from 11-5 tonight! So thank you thank you thank you
Why the fuck do people call pacifiers binkies or a bippy? Seriously. I'm really grouchy right now. I can understand calling it a paci, but the other two aren't even close.
My MIL calls the plugs... It annoying the fuck out of me!!!
Step MIL cause it's a sucker.... It's not a sugary piece of candy on a stick lady!!
At 6:30am my 3 year old comes it cracked out. He starts jumping on our bed and the baby, who just fell asleep, started screaming. I got up and took him back to his room where I find 12!!! mini Reeces peanut butter cup wrappers by his bed. OMG! He found DH's stash and now he is running around the house like a little druggie cracked out of his mind. I wish this worked for me cause the calories would be worth that insane energy.
