Anyone reach the 6-8 week super fussy period? Mix this with colic and baby is screaming And crying all day long when not sleeping or eating. This is so crazy hard.

LO turned 6 weeks on Friday, and omg it was horrible!!! SO fussy all day, then screamed from 7pm to midnight. I think it was a growth spurt too, because he fed for hours during the day. Any time he wasn't eating, he was whining. I've been writing daily notes on him for the doctor, so we can try and figure out what to do. The good thing is yesterday was much better, I was able to leave him with DH and go to an afternoon pool party. There's hope lol!
Awesome that you had a good day yesterday! When you talk to your doctor about this what does he/she say? Ours seems to write if off telling us to hang in there. Seems like he is saying there is nothing he can do...our check up is in two weeks. I feel like a hypochondriac because I email him with new problems and call the advice line quite a bit. Taking notes is a good idea since my mental notes aren't so sharp lately. Also, does your LO want to sleep on you all the time? Mine does and I think it helps with the "pain" (or so he thinks).

  • I'm still BF, so we've been experimenting with my diet and supplementing with formulas, just to try and rule out dairy/soy problems. He's also on Prevacid in case it's reflux. So hard to figure out, because now he has some good days mixed in with the terrible days. And yes, he does want to sleep on me all the time! The second I put him in his RnP, he cries. Makes me so sad, but I've got to eat and pee too lol!

  • Ok ladies. I've found out how to sooth my now 9 week old. If I lay her on her left side she gets tons of gas out. Hope it helps someone.
  • God help me I think my 5 wk old daughter has colic, plus the lovely witching hour at 8pm when I'm trying to get my toddler to sleep. She's been doing better with gas bubbles but still cries all day long and all night if I'm not holding her. Plus she's also decided she only sometimes likes her formula (she's ff only). And why is it men can tune a crying baby out?

Bad night. Gave LO a bath and massage with lotion. Went to nurse him and he freaked out. Inconsolable screaming. I am wondering if he may have an ear infection? He grabbed at his ears twice today but when DH touched them he did not wince. He also hesitated to nurse on the left side like he didn't want to be turned that way. Anyone else have experience with colic and ear pain? What about signs of ear infections? We gave him gripe water and he is asleep now. If it were a painful infection gripe wouldn't work right? I'm such a mess I feel like a bad mom and DH and I just got into another big fight.

  • Made it to 3 months still dealing with colic. Instead of every day the fits are a few times a week. How does everyone plan to leave LO at daycare or a sitter? I am hoping by the time I go back to work he will have outgrown this..I'm starting to worry about my mom taking care of him 40 hours a week. I wish I could work part time. Any others dealing with this? Have already gone back to work? Has LO had a fit at daycare and how do they deal with it?

  • I can't really answer any of your questions @JmeJoLee83‌ but I'm so sorry you're still dealing with colic. What worked for us was changing exclusively to formula, but every child is different. The day we started EFF is the day my DS stopped screaming. I hope you find a solution soon, and that your LO feels better ASAP.

  • We have been on the diagnosis train left and right.. LO has acid reflux and is on Enfamil Nutramegin for what we thought was a milk sensitivity but now the doc is sayin probably "a little colic" ughhh I am ready for this craziness to end! Like some of you, it is wearing on me and my relationship with my husband. I get no sleep because he needs the sleep to go to work, and when he does try to take care of her, she just gets upset and I end up having to calm her and take her anyways. It sucks being sick right now and I can't even take anything because everything knocks me out and I need to take care of her =[ we're at 2.5 months and this needs to end =[
  • I tired weaning my LO off the colief drops and it seemed fine until we got to the day of no drops. Complete constipation and screams all the time. I haven't experienced him like this since he was a few weeks old and we put him on the drops. He is 12 weeks and is still colicky. I thought this stage was over! :((
  • Hope all your LOs feel better soon. We used Hylands colic tabs recc'd by our LC and they worked miracles. I still carry them with me when I leave the house just in case. Homeopathic so safe but not effective for everyone.
  • Anyone try chamomile tea to calm a colic episode?! I heard it works wonders.. I bought some.. Anxious to try it out when she has one- but nervous also lol in case it doesn't work lol.
  • Colic can sometimes be mistaken for hunger...thought DS has it and started EFF and boom! Crying stopped! Apparently I didn't have enough milk...and also it can be too "thin" that's what my pedi told me. Good luck ladies!
