I will now bestow upon you the best mac and cheese recipe. Seriously, my freezer will be stocked with it for after baby.
1 (8oz.) package elbow macaroni (about 2 cups) 1/4 cup butter or margarine 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 cups milk 8 ounces Velveeta cubed (I usually use 4-6 oz of velveeta and 1/2-3/4 cup of shredded cheddar) 1 tablespoon minced onion 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teapsoon Worcestershire sauce 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard 2 tablespoons Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs Butter or magarine
Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. Place in a greased 2-quart baking dish; set aside.
Melt 1/4 cup butter in large heavy saucepan over low heat; whisk in flour until smooth. Cook 1 minute, whisking constantly. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat and add cheese, onion, salt, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and mustard; stir until cheese melts. Pour cheese mixture over macaroni, and mix well. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and dot lightly with additional butter. Bake, uncovered, at 375 deg. for 30 minutes.
Gee thanks guyyys now I *must* go to the grocery store and guy sliced cheese to make grilled cheese. you're forcing my hand.

I love all the cheeses. Right now, I am especially digging laughing cow spreadable cheeses on Saltines. If I had some French bread, I would be putting it on that instead.
I find it in the gourmet cheese section of my grocery store. It tastes just like cheesy rye bread without the bread...which means more room for cheese!
I want grilled cheese for dinner now! I'll have to stop for white bread on the way home. I'll make vegetable soup and grilled cheese. It's gonna be wonderful.
My mom makes her own cheese, is in a cheese making club and teaches cheese making classes. Some of the stuff she's made is wonderful.

@saltbox40 I've never been to the Melting Pot but we used to go to a tasting room for our anniversary every year. Cheese fondue, cheese, chocolate, beer and wine sold by the ounce. YUM! Unfortunately Super Storm Sandy demolished the building.
Smoked Brie, herbed feta and sundried tomatoes, sharp white cheddar with truffles.
IMFG you people are killing me. I've been craving cheese like mad this whole pregnancy. I have a block of cheddar in the fridge here at work and am about to go just eat it. No slicing no crackers just a fist full of delicious cheesy goodness! Edit for typos cause cheese talk is distracting.
Does cheesecake count?! because I could eat that all day I found a sweet cream cheese dip for fruit that I ate on crackers earlier too..... but I really do like all cheese, I don't discriminate
Anyone ever been to the Melting Pot restaurant? Yum Yum cheese fondue.
Mmmmm. The last time I went was when I was like 37 weeks pregnant with DD. I left so darn full but my only regret was that I didn't have any more belly space for more food.
This is probably my favorite thread of all time. OF.ALL.TIME.
Goat cheese smeared on a baguette was my go-to breakfast before MS started kicking my ass. I'll also go to town on some extra sharp cheddar, gouda, mozzarella, gorganzola...mmmmm
One of my favorite recipes: Sautee onion until it starts to brown. Put that on naan with proscuitto, pears, and gorgonzola. Bake @ 400 degrees until cheese starts to melt. Scarf it down before DH gets home and wants some.
I love this thread. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's craving cheese like crazy! Earlier this week I made a cheesy leek and potato pie, last night's dinner was grilled cheese with tomato, and tonight I think it'll be quesadillas. I thought something must be wrong with me, but I'm glad to see I'm actually in good company
@Megdowntheshore- May I suggest Mac and cheese? Then you can keep the cheese theme going. I'm thinking about doing both for dinner because I can't decide which would be better.

Probably one of the things I've been missing the most is this delicious Humboldt Fog cheese from Northern California. This cheese with some jalapeño jam... yummmmm!

I can't pick a favorite cheese. It's impossible. Lately I've been craving pioneer woman's potato, bacon, leek and goat cheese pizza though. Goat cheese. Mmmmmmmmmmm
