Confession: I don't know how to blow out my hair. I just don't have the skill to hold the brush and blowdryer at the same time. I do a air dry or a messy blow dry and then use the Paul Mitchell flat iron on it when I do style it. I do love it blown out though, but honestly I wear it up or scrunch my natural waves to wear it down a lot. I wish my hair was straight.

I feel like I know you guys enough now to share a picture. Our neighbour kid had his 6th birthday and the girls got pool noodle light sabres, and this happened this morning.....
I don't blow dry my hair every day. I don't wash my hair daily though. I wash it every other / every 2 days. I do shower daily. When I do wash my hair, I HAVE to blow dry it and with a round brush to straighten it. It's wavy and poofy if I let it air dry and I look like I put my finger in an electric socket if I don't use the round vent brush. My hair is a lot healthier since cutting back on my washing (it's been about a year since not washing it daily).
Day 1 of no washing I can wear it down and looks the same as it does washed. Day 2, I can get away with wearing it down, but throw it in a bun.

@cls78 I'm in the same boat as you. I cant coordinate the brush and hairdryer. For the first 25 of my life my hair was pin straight so I didnt have to brush and dry at the same time.. then around 25 something happened and now it's like half curly half pin straight and it dries crazy. I hate it.
A mouse has been stealing my dog's food and making little stashes of it. We've had traps out, but no luck in catching any.
This morning, a very fat mouse was found stuck in the dog's food bowl. Apparently it had eaten all of the food and was too bloated to make its way out. Maybe it was pregnant?!?
It was walking in circles trying to climb out and falling back in when my husband found it.
He disposed of its life and then its body.
::shudder::
My husband used the brush for the dishes to clean the dog bowl.
I'm with @cls78, don't understand the blow drying technique. I have curly frizzy hair though, so it's either a hot mess or blown out by a pro. A blowout bar just opened near us and I have a 20% coupon to use. I'm pretty excited.
Also I didn't realize there were two random threads, so I already said this. But that shower thread needs to be done. For real. It gives me fits just looking at the fucking thing.
We had a mouse about a year ago. It was getting into our pantry and eating food. Traps did not work, but our exterminator threw the little bags of poison into our crawl space and we never had the problem again. I still keep a lot of our food in plastic bins. I was horrified.
We had a rat chew through the side of our house and live in the basement wall all winter. The first day it got in, my H was out of town.... I'm home alone, and one of my dogs goes downstairs into the creepy unfinished concrete basement, and starts barking into a dark corner behind our oil tank. I ended up locking the basement door and sleeping with a light on. (I was way more scared it might be a ghost or a monster).
Turns out it got under our concrete porch and was I reachable from the inside. So this summer our deck got demolished, we fixed the giant ragged hole in the side of the house, and we are rebuilding the deck. No more rat!
I have long wavy-curly hair, and I almost never blow dry it. I co-wash my hair every other night and either scrunch it in the morning or straighten it.

Ewww!!! I hate mice. I hate setting up traps and DH hates the clean up. I will NOT use poison, have die them somewhere and realize because of the odor. I get 100% pure (organic) peppermint oil, soak cotton balls and place them all over the house. I put them some the heater/cooler vent so the smell with go through out our home. I have done this before and all evidence of mice are gone. Mice hate peppermint. Easiest way to get rid of mice.

@Irishcurls I made a poll whether to close it. I'll wait until mid-morning (PST) when I get into the store. Then I'll close it if majority rules.
anyone who voted to keep it open gets banned from the BMB....
I voted to keep it open. I don't think threads should be closed just because they're annoying or controversial.
I would say I'm only pro close it if the OP asks for it to be, which I think she should. But for the love of fucking anything holy, F15ers STOP POSTING IN IT. FFS. There is nothing else to say.

I was thinking of calling an exterminator but I have a dog who would be disgusting enough to eat a dead poisoned mouse.
@thegoodpotato I would do the exact same thing (lock the door and shiver scared under the blankets worrying about ghosts)! Also, rats are gross. Thankfully, we don't have rats in our province (so says the government).
My only random is I'm going to start whining about all the announcements pinned in the board again.
Are you always mobile? Can you dismiss them?
Usually mobile :S don't know how to dismiss them, or if it's possible
Are you mobile now? If there ever is a time when you're on a computer, then there is a little wheel thingy next to the thread title. If you hover or it, you can click dismiss, and it will unpin the thread. I don't think you can do it on mobile, though.
Oh and they're still dismissed when you're mobile?
@chickenhawke, I may just apt that hair care routine. I'm one of those people who have to find someone suited to handling thick, wavy/curly combo hair before I get anything done. The blow dryer is my enemy.
Re hair: I have thin, curly hair so I have to wash it every morning since it doesn't hold the curl well when I sleep on it (major bedhead) or if I had it pulled up in a ponytail at all etc. I just air dry, though, I spray a little de-frizz spray on it and go. I have never owned a blow dryer. So, even though I have to shower in the morning - my routine is 25 min from getting in the shower to leaving the house.
@selly08, just people that know I'm pregnant stare at me. I think they are trying to determine if it's a bump or I'm just getting fatter or what the heck it is. Hell, I don't know what it is, but please stop looking at me!

Same here. Thin wavy/curly hair and I keep it pretty short (earlobe to chin length) and I have never owned a blow dryer. Whenever I try blow drying myself my hair becomes a poofy mess and I have to use a flat iron to get it under control. I just spray anti-frizz and let it air dry into natural curls/waves.
I also have to wash my hair daily or it gets really greasy. I have tried a few times to cut back to every other day, but I never stick to it because I feel so much more comfortable/clean with washed hair. For those who have made the adjustment, how long did it take? Are there certain hair types that just don't work for not washing?

My hair is straight but I tried to do it with a round brush like they do at the salon and I got the stupid brush stuck in my hair..... Never again!

There are at least two times this has happened to me. I walked into the room they dropped their gaze immediately to my stomach, then looked at me expectantly. (And I'm sure it's happened more, but they were just more discreet about it.) I'm just like WHAT? It makes me feel so self-conscious. But I'm sure it's only going to get worse.
My problem is random people on the streets Staring! Okay, so I am just having a baby. Let me be!
I tend to keep my hair braided up, which means I wash it every 8-10wks. When im in breath mode I wash it every 2wks. Every wash it gets a blow dry.

@Irishcurls - what the heck, I've been waiting patiently for a blow dry bar to open near me for years, and nothing. I feel like you north shore people (you're north shore, right?) have all the fun.
Oh yes, we have all the best stuff. It's cool because it was started by a former instructor at my barre studio so she gives clients all sorts of special deals and stuff. Super fun and I love when my hair is straight, I'm just incapable of doing it myself.
I wash my hair every other day. I only blow dry if it falls on a day that I have to work (M, T, W), so some weeks I only end up drying it once.
My random for the day is more of a PSA for the FTMs. Do not under any circumstance let your husband book a pediatrician appointment for your kid when they normally nap. DS normally naps from 11:30/12-2/2:30, DH scheduled a 1:40 appointment today with another pedi in our practice because he didn't want to wait for the convenient appointment with his regular pediatrician on Friday. Obviously that means that DS is still in his crib whining at me and not napping.

Yes, we have 2 dogs. In most cases, the mouse would go to die where it usually hides (not in the food bowl, most likely). In your lazy-ass fat mouse case, I'm unsure where he/she would go to die. Only animals that are over a pound in weight actually smell once dead...so you shouldn't have to worry about smelling a dead rat mouse rotting somewhere.
Having grown up in the country where field mice moved into the house every winter, I can definitively assert that mice DO smell when they die. They very frequently chose my bedroom walls, and it was awful.
Do you know how large they were? I'm guessing the larger ones would smell worse.
They were tiny little things. Maybe a couple inches long. Cute little field mice (until they died).
I feel like all animals smell when they die - the breakdown of the tissue smells, and the thinking that a 1lb or less animal doesn't smell is more a function of AMOUNT of odor that is generated and could possible reach you than it not ACTUALLY smelling (which it does)
Sooo... I totally read the name of this discussion as "SPERMalicious" instead of spamalicious this morning and just now realized my mistake... *facepalm
Okay, this is pretty random, but can someone please educate me on how to freaking GIF properly from a PC? I can usually get it to work when I'm mobile, but have yet to get it to work when I'm at my computer.
I just right click on the gif, select copy image, put the curser in the TB text box, and paste it in... works for me?

Blow drying and/or flat ironing really damage your hair. I only blow dry when it's cold out, let my hair heal over the summer.
