We had thought DH would have to work all weekend, and that we'd celebrate another time. No biggie.
Now we find out DH doesn't have to work after all and he's all excited about doing something for our anniversary weekend! Eep!
Last year he took me to a Michael Buble concert, so the man plans well, but he's super busy until Friday so all planning has fallen on me.
All I can think of is a hotel in a local city, but it's still hot as heck here and not sure what would be fun to do with our days? Nothing TOO expensive. Usually we just walk around a city exploring, but with the heat and being pregnant, that sounds like hell. We also usually love going to wine country or going beer tasting, but that's not a thing right now either for me.
I suggested a spa day but having a hard time finding decent spas that offer prenatal massage.
Ideas??? Please?

Re: NBR: Anniversary Ideas
Also, the idea of sharing a queen sized bed with DH right now sounds rough (which is the size most B&Bs seem to offer). He's really tall and takes up a lot of space; and I need several pillows to get comfortable!

Let's just assume I have looked at B&Bs and popular destinations near me. All too hot to do anything outdoors really. Nothing really to do indoors. I am at a bit of a loss activity-wise.

Do you have Luxe level movie theaters out your way? You can dine and watch the movie at the same time? Kind of nice to do (esp since that's not a kid-friendly activity once the baby arrives). And it's air conditioned
One of our best dates was then we spent the afternoon at this awsome zoo. it was totally random and before kids but so much fun.
I've found a few shows that might work. Combined with dinner and a hotel (if I can find one still for the holiday weekend... if not, it's not too far to drive) it should work out just fine!
Reallllly appreciate the input. I was having major trouble with this for some reason!

Based on the love of the wine and the beer
I'm the same way
Stealing an idea that we did for a coworker's wedding, we bought 12 bottles of wine (doesn't have to be that many but there are 12 of us in the department) and made tags with a poem on it, each with a specific milestone on them: first xmas, first fight, first anniversary etc.
The intention being that the bottle of wine was to be inbibed at that event. Someone in the office got it off pintrest. You might be able to adapt something like that for an anniversary gift. If you google it you can get examples of what it looks like and the poems that are out there.
All, we made plans! Hotels were ridiculously booked (not surprising) - it was either $250+ for a crappy Best Western or $70 for a really sketchy motel 20 minutes from downtown anywhere. So we're doing a day trip, going to play tourist in a local city, have some delicious Indian food (our town thinks Mexican is the only necessary international cuisine) and then go to a fun play before coming home! Then a beach day the next day. I really really appreciate all the suggestions!
