Parenting after 35

trying to think positive thoughts

I feel like the world is just negative, negative, negative lately!  There are so many tragic things going on, it gets really depressing.  I've been trying not to take it in so much lately (I can't help myself, I'm an empath) and think of positive things.  So I'll start with some positives that I am grateful for and if anyone wants to jump in, maybe we can all have a little pick me up.

I'm grateful for:  DH, he makes me laugh every day and is my best friend; my beautiful DD, she is such a blessing and I am so lucky to have her; having a good job, even though its one I don't particularly like; and, for having the essentials of life (food, clothing, a home) when so many do not.

  • What a great idea.... especially with this impending hurricane coming...

    hmm.. I'll add on .. I am grateful for my DH who shares the nighttime feedings and bathtime...and how my DD runs to him when he comes home from work... the squeal when her daddy comes home... the sweetest joy of watching her interact with her new little brother... "hi baby..." and trying to stick the paci in his mouth.. rock him.. pat his back.. calm him if he cries.. I'm grateful that she is beginning to SHARE her toys.. was handing shapes to him to sort and giving him coins for her piggy bank!!!   I'm grateful for two healthy babies....and good health for me and my DH.. and family... I'm grateful for my sister who helps out in an instant (and lives 5 blocks away!)... SO MUCH.......

    Wow... feeling very lucky right now.  Thanks. What a pick me up!

  • I am thankful for;

    My DH.  My precious DS and his fantastic hugs.  Being able to conceive #2 easily at 40.  My family's health.  My job.  The fact that we made it thru the worst storm of my life last night unscathed.  My pets.  My friends. And many many more things.

    ROFLMFAO. I love Monty Python. And Little Britain.

    I love to laugh, and try to do that every day. It really does help. And I try do do something about the things I can control. I am thankful for my dh, family, and friends, no matter what they do, good or bad. I am thankful that we made it through very bad times in our life and became better people for it. I am grateful to work for a great company when others aren't so lucky. I try hard to stand up and speak out about things that I see that are wrong, and that we step in when people are in trouble. I am also thankful to meet the ladies on this board, who are supportive, and can be civil and agree to disagree (and not the grade school nastiness I've seen on other boards).
