Hey, hey.  Welcome to first tri check-in. So I think we will just keep the check-in on Monday night if no one has a problem with it.  This is for those of us who want to stay in the safety of the PgAL board yet still have first tri questions, concerns, or fears. We have had a number of new BFPs on the main board (yay!) this week and if you would like to join in our check-in, please do so!  If you aren't tagged in this post, please feel free to join!

    EDD/Week/Fruit
    16 Weeks today - Avacado

    Worries (rational or irrational)
This week has been pretty good. I was stuck home all last week with Hand, Foot, Mouth. I put the time to good use and started really planning for the baby. This is the first time I have really let myself think about bringing a baby home. I do still worry about something happening between appointments. I don't think that fear is going to go away until baby boy is here.

    Appointments scheduled
17 Week appointment next Tuesday - A/S in 3 weeks.

    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates
    None

QoTW:  What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves?
Hairballs / pet vomit on the carpet. Oh and dog farts! Yuck!

    @Footprint :
next scan is the A/S on the 16th.

ETA: it's been a long day, I thought you were asking about pet related pet peeves...
General pet peeves would be people that just can't take a hint, or co-workers who do half the work I do, yet we all get the same amount of credit.

  • Hi everyone. I hope you all are doing well. (Hugs) to anyone who needs them. EDD/Week/Fruit 9w3d/Olive Worries (rational or irrational) to answer your question footprint I'm not having any symptoms at all anymore which has me worried. It's seems a little on the early side for m/s or n/s to stop. But I know every person/every pregnancy can be different. I just have fear it's a missed m/c. Appointments scheduled u/s on 9/5. Upcoming milestones/Loss dates not for 3 more weeks QoTW: What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves? I'm a pretty easy going person and it takes a lot to rattle me. I guess I'd say people who purposely love to start drama when there wasn't any to begin with.
Sorry about the disappearing symptoms, but you're right, every pregnancy is different. Even knowing that probably doesn't help too much. Fx crossed that your next appointment is here before you know it!

Oh, sorry about the hand, foot, and mouth :(. It's been going around here for a few weeks too. Luckily, DS and I have so far avoided it. Are there any special considerations since you are pregnant? I know that like Fifth's disease while pregnant is not a good thing, how about H, F, and M? I hope you are feeling better.

  • @racegurl87 How are you doing with PgAL brain with your appointment still being a ways off? Any relief from the acid reflux? PGAL brain still gets to me sometimes, but thankfully not as much anymore. I've started taking Tums when the reflux is pretty bad. Thankfully one tablet is normally all I need to feel better.

    EDD/Week/Fruit 3/1/15, 13w, a peach

Worries (rational or irrational) Just the normal PGAL worries... I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm still pregnant. My symptoms are lessening a bit since I think I'm considered second tri now... kinda excited to hear the hb again at my next appt and eventually see LO again at the 20w u/s.

Appointments scheduled 15w appt on Sept. 8th

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates My loss date was 11/7, so that's coming up.

QoTW:  What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves? I'm sure I have a lot, but when H doesn't put things back where they're supposed to go it drives me crazy.... especially in the kitchen, I get mad when my kitchen isn't properly organized.
I'm glad the Tums are helping! The lessening of the symptoms is hard to deal with. Do you have a bump yet? I hate when H doesn't return things to the proper place, too!

Thanks for the check-in, @Footprint! To answer your question, yes, MS, or all-day sickness has definitely set in. I feel like I want to throw up all of the time. I guess I should be grateful that I am not actually throwing up.

    EDD/Week/Fruit: 4/18/15 / 6w3d / pea

Worries (rational or irrational): I'm getting nervous about teaching again next week. I'm so scared to get sick in front of my class and worried about being exhausted at work.

Appointments scheduled: Next Wednesday, at 7w4d, for another scan.

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates: I have so many loss dates, I don't really think of them.

QoTW: What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves? People who stand too close to you. I was in a long line yesterday and this woman was so close!
ETA Comments. Sorry, I just straight quoted you without commenting!

The m/s is such a double edged sword for the PgAL brain. I loved it because I knew I was still pregnant, but who wants to feel nauseous all day? The other thing that is hard for PgAL is feeling like you can't complain about the side effects of being pregnant. I feel like I should suffer through all the symptoms with a huge smile on my face since I am so happy to still be pregnant, but the symptoms are hard and gross to live with.

I hate people who invade personal space. I especially hate when men do it, I automatically assume that they are abusive a-holes, and I start throwing attitude towards them. Which is pretty passive-aggressive and doesn't usually work to get them to back off.

  • @footprint‌ I'm doing alright. My exhaustion has gotten a little better along with my other symptoms getting a lot better. Freaks me out. Hopefully I'm just one who's symptoms subside earlier

    EDD/Week/Fruit 10w3d I think it's a prune.

Worries (rational or irrational) my symptoms got a lot better. I walk around like a goof ball grabbing my boobs to make sure they are still sore.

Appointments scheduled 9/12 can't come soon enough.

    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates

QoTW: What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves? Uh I hate people's mouth noises. Like gum chewing and smacking and whistling it just sets me on edge for some reason.
  • EDD/Week/Fruit
February 9, 16w3d, two big green avocados

    Worries (rational or irrational)
Last week, I was really worried about being able to deliver at the hospital of my preference.  The hospital I prefer does not have a NICU, but does have a "special care unit" and my SIL works there.  I was able to get a hard answer from my OB last week thank goodness.  As long as I make it to 34 weeks, I can deliver at my choice hospital.  If not, I have to go downtown (about the same distance).  It is much more "hospitaly", but is still a great hospital.  There is just something more comforting about delivering at the women's center rather than downtown where the drunk guy is next door while you push....

Also, I had to have a root canal yesterday, so the fears of those medications and the stress on my body was a big concern.  All went great and I'm only sore today, not painful. My dentist wrote a prescription for Tylenol with Codeine, which I filled just in case, but do not feel I will need it and I am quite grateful for that!  He tried not to use Epinephrine in my Lidocaine, but I couldn't make it through, so he added it.  It isn't necessarily a bad thing, as the benefit outweighs the risks, but still it should be avoided if possible.  I came home and immediately broke out the doppler (I act like I ever put it away) and all sounded great.  I love that doppler.....

    Appointments scheduled
September 15 is the anatomy scan!  They did a limited anatomy scan this past week and all looked great.  We just got the final portion of our genetic testing and the AFP was low risk as well.  SO relieved and glad all the genetic testing is over.  I can't wait to see the ninjas again!

    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates
I have long passed my milestones, but I can't shake the feeling that this has all been too perfect.  I struggle with why do we deserve to have a perfect pregnancy?

QoTW:  What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves?
Oh I have a LOT of pet peeves :)  I don't even know where to begin!!!!

@footprint I think I really hurt my SIL's feelings when I told her she couldn't go last time.  I painted the picture like we really wanted to surprise them with the sexes, etc.  That may have been a mistake.  I should have just let her know that I wasn't comfortable yet.  Not sure why I'm ashamed of that.  I did have a really nice heart to heart with my mom about it.  I told her that if I allowed the SIL to go, I didn't want to hurt her feelings, and that she should know that I really don't want ANYONE going, but I'd be doing it really for DH.  I think this will be a stressor for the rest of my life.  He wants me to call with recipe help, advice about things around the house, etc.  I'm extremely independent and want to learn things on my own.  I am quite unemotional at my OB appointments.  They are all about business to me.  They are medical appointments.  Then I get in the car and squeal :)  I don't want the oooos and aaaaas in the room.  That's not for me.  Anyway, that is much more than you had any interest in knowing :)

@TMaggie0424 I'm sure your lack of symptoms is just something to be thankful for.  I remember the first day I wasn't sick and I was terrified though.  I'm sure everything is fine!
@mypeanut22 I'll be thinking of you on Labor Day.
@HailsMom looks like we are on the same schedule.  Good luck at your A/S on the 16th!
@heathersf11 Good luck on your betas!  I hope they are well over 6000!  Every time I see your siggy, I think of the amazing 80s movie Heathers......
@racegurl87  Have you considered a doppler?  Mine has been a lifesaver :)
@megdowntheshore Good luck starting school next week!  I know that is hard even without being in the 1st tri!

    Hi ladies, and thanks @footprint!

@mypeanut22 - Good luck at your ultrasound! Sorry your husband can't be there, that would be hard.

    @HailsMom - Hope you're feeling better!

@Heathersf11 - Know what you mean. The BMB is pretty overwhelming. There's a PgAL check in, though, and some other good stuff, but you have to wade through a lot of crazy to find it.

@rqcegurl87 - LOL about the kitchen organization. My husband folds the kitchen towels satanically--not lengthwise first. I'm trying to breathe through it, but it feels all kinds of wrong.

@Megdowntheshore - Good luck with the start of classes! My first one is today. :(

@amanda33758 - I totally do that. If you do it with your upper arm I'd like to think it's not noticeable. ;-)

    AFM:
    Week/EDD/Fruit: 6+4, April 17th, Pea

Worries: I feel MUCH better as our ultrasound yesterday was "perfect," but of course I'm still terrified. We've been on the bad side of unusual statistics for 2.5 years, so it's hard to imagine this could go well from here on out.

Appointments: I think my next u/s will be 9/4, which is about 8 weeks. If things look good I assume I'd be graduating to an obgyn like a normal person!

Upcoming milestones: With my last loss, the equivalent ultrasound to yesterday didn't look great, but we made it to 8 weeks when we saw that the heartbeat had stopped. The embryo had never gotten as big as it did yesterday, so we're in much better shape, but I'm still going to be a complete train wreck in advance of 9/4, especially if I have any bleeding or symptoms disappear.

QOTW: I'm a little frustrated with some parts of TB right now, so I'll say that my pet peeve is when women are cruel to other women. I react really badly to it, too, so I get into trouble.

ETA: Good luck and hugs to everyone!

    EDD/Week/Fruit

One thing about motherhood that never dawned on me before it happened to me was that people push their will onto you and expect you to take it. One of the harder things for me to do after my son was born (and, I guess during my pregnancy with him) was to find my voice and stand up for him and myself and raise him in the way I thought fit, bit what my mom or sister thought was best. It's easy to give in to familial pressure and do something you didn't want to do which can breed resentment. Idk. I feel like first it is doctors appointments, then it's being in the room during the birth, it's a slippery slope. I feel like it is a slippery slope, anyhow. Best of luck. I hope it works out that you get to deliver at the hospital you want!

    Hi ladies, and thanks @footprint!

@mypeanut22 - Good luck at your ultrasound! Sorry your husband can't be there, that would be hard.

    @HailsMom - Hope you're feeling better!

I'm so glad your u/s was perfect! Yay! It must be exciting that you will be released to an OB soon! What a fantastic milestone that will be!

I hear you about people being cruel to one another. It is too bad that it happens :(.

First US on 9/2.  I also have one more set of betas on Thursday which I am also anxious about.
    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates
My loss was at 9 weeks, so I have a bit to go before that.
QoTW:  What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves?
I have so many.  People blocking the left lane is one of my top pet peeves.  Also people who are texting and walking and are in the way because they're not paying any attention to their surroundings.
I am mobile and I am not sure if the quote button worked correctly on this or if I have quoted you like 20 times. So I apologize if this is wacky looking.

Congrats on your positive! Yay! I think you have a common worry of the u/s. The mantras helped me, but mostly I just tried not to think about it. I hope that you are able to keep you an anxieties down and that time passes quickly and your u/s appointment is here before you know it!

Traveling in the passing lane drives me nuts too!

  • Hi ladies, I'm new to this group:)

    EDD/Week/Fruit
    EDD: April 20, 2015
    Week: 6w1d
    Fruit: My little Sweet Pea:)

    Worries (rational or irrational)
Am I the only one that holds my breath every time I go to the bathroom, praying I don't see blood? Every little pain/cramp/weird feeling, I panic a little, PGAL brain sucks!

    Appointments scheduled
I have my first appointment on Friday, I thought I would be getting an U/S because my last pregnancy was ectopic so my OB said she wanted me to come in early to make sure it didn't happen again, but they sounded like they wouldn't be able to do one then & didn't seem too worried about it.. it was kind of irritating to me because I will be almost as far along as I was last time & I had to have part of my right tube removed, so I definitely don't want that to happen again. Hopefully when I get there they will decide to do one, fingers crossed.

    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates
I had my ectopic removed in October of last year at 7w1d, so I am getting close to that milestone.

QoTW:  What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves?
Lately one has been that DH doesn't seem to be pulling his weight around the house, mostly when it comes to cooking. I am expected to cook almost every night & I don't remember the last time he cooked us dinner. Don't get me wrong, I really like to cook, but sometimes I just don't feel like it and would like someone else to cook for me. We argued about it last night and finally came to the conclusion that he would choose 1 day during the week & 1 day of the weekend to cook and either I will cook the other days or we will fend for ourselves. It doesn't seem like such a big deal, but when the pregnancy hormones start kicking in everything seems like a big deal.

  • Good morning, ladies! I hope y'all are all having great starts to your day!

@footprint As always, many thanks to you for running and keeping up with this check-in.  I know how much work is put into it, and it's not overlooked by us.

@TMaggie0424 I didn't have a whole lot of symptoms at 9 weeks, either.  Mine didn't kick into high gear until weeks 10 and 11.  ((hugs))

@mypeanut22 FX for a good ultrasound this Thurday, and ((hugs)) for your loss date

@hailsmom glad you're feeling better, and sorry about HFM :(

@heathersf11 FX for awesome betas, and that you don't get sick in front of your class

@racegurl87 My DH doesn't pick up after himself AT ALL!! I love that he cooks dinner most nights, but he literally does not put anything away! Butter, wrappers, utensils, the cutting board he hasn't used in a hour... UGH... He does the same thing everywhere else in the house, too, but the kitchen bugs me the most!

@megdowntheshore FX for a great appointment next week, and that you don't get sick in front of your class.

@amanda33758 I did the same thing - squishing my boobs all the time to make sure they were still sore.

@kefttsc Sorry about the root canal, but glad you get to see your babies again soon!

@pblge Yay for a perfect u/s! I've got my a/s on 9/4 - it's so close, yet so far away!!!

@LaRamona09 Glad to have you here, love! FX for a beautiful, strong heartbeat next Tuesday!

    AFM:

    EDD/Week/Fruit 1/25/15 - I'm a sweet potato for week 18

Worries (rational or irrational) I had some bright red blood yesterday when I wiped that had me temporarily freaked out.  It wasn't a tiny little bit, but it wasn't a massive amount either.  I haven't had any since, and I'm still feeling LO wiggle around in there, so I'm not too concerned.  I will be mentioning it to my doc this afternoon.

Appointments scheduled Today at 3:30 - just a regular check up, and then 9/4 for my a/s.

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates Loss date was 12/10, so I've got a while before then.

QoTW:  What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves? People who refuse to use their own brains - If you would take 5 seconds to think about the answer, you wouldn't have to ask me.  Also, people who don't understand that their actions have consequences.  And lastly, bad grammar and spelling.

  • @footprint - With the HFM, there is concern of MC in early pregnancy (when isn't there) and in later pregnancy, if you have it when you deliver - baby can get it.

@mypeanut22  - Thinking of you this weekend! My MIL also tells the same exact stories over and over again, and even when you tell her that you have already heard her tell it, she just says " I know, I was just telling you again".

@heathersf11 - Have you gotten your beta results yet?

@racegurl87 - Yay for second tri!!!!   And I hate when people don't put things where they are supposed to go in my kitchen! We have such a small amount of storage that everything has it's place and if it doesn't go there then I never can find it.

@Megdowntheshore - I had the same all day sickness with both my first pregnancy and this one. The first time - it lasted the whole pregnancy, this time around it seemed to have gone away for the most part at 13 weeks.  I almost wished that I could just throw up and get it over with, rather than feeling like crap all day.

@kefttsc - Yay! Due date buddies!  (I have a feeling you will probably go before me though!) FX that you make it to 34 weeks at least so you can deliver where you want. Good luck at your scan too!

@pblge - Glad you had a good scan!

LaRomana09  - I hate slow people in the left hand lane!

@danielle1290 - I still do that! Every time I go to the bathroom!  I even turn the lights on at night so I can make sure I don't miss blood.

@MoreThanSparrows08 - Hope everything is ok and there is no more blood.

EDD/Fruit/Week: 4/23/15, appleseed for another day, 5 wk 5 days

Worries: Still scared to pee, which is still a problem since all I do is drink water all day long because I can't seem to quench my thirst. Waking up in the morning is like waking up with cottonmouth I would experience with a hangover, minus the booze... Everyday I remind myself to relax, enjoy being pregnant, considering some of my symptoms are a lot stronger than last time (like the bloating, which has me worried that people can tell I am pregnant because I already look like I am).

Also fighting a head cold, which sucks with no meds. The women's center gave me a list of medications but those never worked before I was pregnant so not taking a chance. With a stuffy head and a stuffy body I feel like a balloon. Head cold is also preventing me from visiting my BF in the hospital who had her first baby boy this morning  :(

Upcoming Milestones/Appointments: About a week and a half until I approach my previous loss (7w1d) and exactly 3 weeks until my first US. Feel like these two things consume most of my thoughts these days. Hoping that once these dates pass that I will be able to relax more.

QOTW: @racegurl , completely with you about the kitchen, I spent too much time this morning trying to find a cheese slicer as it has rotated between three different drawers over the last 2 weeks... I also hate when people cut me off in their car and then I have to stop 5 minutes later when they decide to turn off the highway.

  • @footprint the u/s was great! Baby was measuring 4 days ahead (was 2 days ahead at our 8 week appt) and had a strong heartbeat. Week has been great!

    EDD/Week/Fruit 3.14.15/11w3d/Lime (I think)

Worries (rational or irrational) Right now I'm just worried for our appt tomorrow (our 12 week appt), and then about telling people. I work for a church, and we don't have a policy regarding maternity leave, so I'm trying to figure out how to go about that. I'm the one who would write it, given my position, but I feel that I need to announce before I start writing it, otherwise people could see it as being bias and tailored in my favor.

Appointments scheduled 12 week appt tomorrow!

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates If all is well tomorrow, this will be the farthest along I've been (with the exception of when I was pregnant with my son 9 years ago). :)

QoTW:  What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves? I CANNOT stand mouth noises... people chewing, sucking their teeth, sucking on hard candy, etc. literally angers me instantly. Horrible grammar is a close second, followed by having to repeat myself.

No you are definitely not the only one here to hold your breathe while you check the TP for blood! We all have done and/or still do that! I am 15 weeks and I do that.  Mostly it is just a reflex, and I seriously don't expect to see blood, but I still do it! I think I can say, too, that every twinge, stretch, or pull kicks all of our PgAL brains into over drive! It is really difficult in the beginning but it gets easier in time.  The PgAL mantras help a lot of women reduce the anxiety and keeping busy helps a lot too!

    Hi @footprint !  "Free-range pregnant women" HAHAHA!
Yes, my U/S this morning went great! Baby was measuring right on track and we got to hear the heartbeat :-)

    EDD/Week/Fruit: 4.17.15 / 6w4d

Worries (rational or irrational): I'm doing pretty good not worrying right now. It probably helps that we JUST saw the baby this morning but hopefully that feeling will last.

Appointments scheduled: My RE originally said only 1 U/S before releasing me to my OB (releasing me into the wild haha!) but this morning the nurse said they're going to make a second one happen however they need to! So 2 weeks from now I'll go in for a 2nd one. In the meantime, they're sending my files over to the OB as well so I can get going and schedule my first appt.

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates: Petey's EDD was a week and a half ago. I am feeling good that we are past that now.  As for this pregnancy, I will just continue to hope I stay PG and my first real concern will be the 12 weeks scan.

QoTW:  Ooo pet peeves.... I think the worst one is when people drive in the left lane but don't pass and are totally oblivious to the fact that they are causing a back up.

ETA: I should have read through first! @LaRomana09 we are on the same wavelength with the left lane annoyance!

@pblge Congrats on a great U/S!  We are due date buddies!

@Megdowntheshore I am right there with you on the all day nausea!  Ugh.
Yay for a fantastic u/s! I'm really happy that you got to see the heartbeat! That should carry you for a while, I hope. Given the choice, I would be a free-range pregnant lady, sounds freer than the alternative. I am also reall happy that your RE is trying to get you in for a second u/s before you are released to the OB. That is awesome! Here's to  good week!

Yes, my U/S this morning went great! Baby was measuring right on track and we got to hear the heartbeat :-)

    Pregnancy Ticker

I am so sorry about the blood. How are you doing today? How are you feeling about it? I'm glad that you are seeing your doctor this afternoon and can ask him/her about it.  I am also really happy that you can feel your LO moving around! Your a/s isn't too long from now, and tat is exciting.  Are you going to find out the sex? Let us know how your doc appointment this afternoon goes!

@footprint - With the HFM, there is concern of MC in early pregnancy (when isn't there) and in later pregnancy, if you have it when you deliver - baby can get it.

You're right, there is always a concern in early pregnancy of MC! I'm sorry that you were sick, but glad you got it at a time when LO is safe.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • I'd like to join also!  Just had my first appointment and I am thrilled that everything is going fine this time!  What a relief!

Can someone direct me to a link for how to set up a ticker?

    Here are the questions:

    EDD/Week/Fruit- EDD is April 8, 2015, I'm 7.5 weeks prego, and I think it's the size of a blueberry!

Worries (rational or irrational)- I have a really hard time having blood drawn (even after all the beta's from my loss) because I have tiny, hard to find veins.  Tech couldn't get my blood for my whole workup so I have to go somewhere else Thursday.  Just wish it was over with.  I worry about how I will handle the IV's, and maybe even an epidural, further down the road.  I'm also terrified of giving birth but have decided not to fret about that until at least January :)

I'm also going back to work in a week (work in a school) and I'm worried that 1) I won't feel well- I hate being sick in public; 2) people will know I"m pregnant (ginger ale and crackers for lunch is a giveaway) before I Want to tell.

Appointments scheduled- First u/s was yesterday. Going back on the 17th for an intake with the nurse/midwife and a physical exam and another u/s.

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates- just past my first EDD (based on my estimation- never got one from the doc) but the new pregnancy helped soften that blow

QoTW:  What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves? - When people ask you anything about pregnancy.  I don't know why people think it's their business.  "When are you having kids?"  It makes me really upset.  I want to "go public" with the fact that I had a miscarriage but I'm not ready to yet.  Maybe once I tell about this pregnancy, I will. I had a coworker ask me why I was out last year (for 3 days when I miscarried) and I said I had a stomach bug.  She should have dropped it, and instead said, "Oh, I thought maybe you were pregnant."  So many people say things like this.  Don't they know that many people suffer?  It drives me insane.  I really want to educate people about this.  On a lighter note, my husband's snoring is becoming a big pet peeve!

Congrats on your positive! And welcome to the first trimester check-in! I'm sorry, I can't help with the ticker. I've tried a few times, to no avail. It just never shows up in my sig.

I'm sorry that you have a hard time with blood draws. I've had some medical issues and have had countless blood draws and I definitely recommend that you over hydrate before a draw. The techs and nurses would have such a difficult time drawing blood or putting in an IV if I was allowed to drink anything after midnight.

@footprint thanks for the check in and adding me to the list

I'm sorry that you are scared to pee :(. Also sorry that you are sick with a head cold. The OTC allowed during pregnancy don't do a thing. It drives me crazy! I awoke with a headache Sunday and it was awful! I took Tylenol for the first time in my pregnancy and it did nothing. I had it all day. I just wanted to cry. Saline nasal spray kinda helped a little. I hope you feel better and get to visit you BFF soon.

@footprint the u/s was great!

My neighbor is like 70 years old and almost every time I go outside, he corners me to talk, which is ok, but drives me a little crazy. He will ask a question and no matter what volume my response he shouts, "Huh?" It drives me nuts and seems somehow passive-aggressive and aggressive-aggressive. It's almost like he doesn't expect a response to his questions. Drives me batty, repeating myself like that.

I'm glad that you have had a good week! It's nice when that happens.  I'm sorry about your situation at work. Since you are a non-profit religious establishment (I am assuming) does your place have to offer FMLA time?

    My check-in...

    EDD 2/16/2015 Week 15

Worries: My worries have really quieted following my NT scan and getting into the second trimester. They are fully gone, but they have quieted a lot. Which is nice.

I have an OB appointment on Sept 11, I will be around 17 weeks (i think) and more than likely get an Rx for my a/s.

I have passed my EDD and my loss milestone, hooray!

QotW: Whistling. I cannot stand it. To me, whistling is the equivalent of singing at the top of your lungs in public. I notice men do it a lot at the grocery store, and I'm all, seriously? You think that's ok to do in public? Usually you can hear it over the whole store. Ugh.

No, they don't have to offer anything. However, they are amazing, so I'm hoping the conversation goes wonderfully. I may not be able to negotiate getting my full salary while on leave, but I'm going to make sure I get at least 1/2 of it. (I'll be proposing roughly 20 hours/week after the first two weeks, and doing that for about 2-3 months, before returning to my normal hours)
I used to work with a guy that does that HUH?!?! thing. No matter what you'd say, even if he heard you (which I assume he always did) he'd say HUH!? Any chance your neighbor's name is Chuck @footprint
  • Hi ladies! I hope people are having a good day.

    EDD/Week/Fruit: 3/24, 10wks, prune
Worries (rational or irrational): I'm still being irrational about stuff. I am 2wks away from hitting my loss milestone from the last pregnancy, so I feel like I can't relax until I at least get past that.

Appointments scheduled: This Friday I have a blood draw for the Harmony test. Alas, I won't get results until my NT scan on 9/11. It will feel like forever.

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates: I am just continuing to try and stay positive. My loss was at 12wks and I am two weeks away from that. I even had a dream the other night where I was back in the ER for another loss. It was unsettling, but trying to ignore it.

@footprint, I'm feeling better! No more cramps, but now I have sciatic nerve pain bugging my right leg. It sucks since I sit in front of the computer all day for work. This is now when I wish I had a tread desk. lol.

  • Thanks for the check in! Job stress is still there unfortunately. I've talked to DH and we've decided we can afford for me to stop working by Christmas which I'm looking forward to. I want to be a SAHM so I have no interest in keeping my job after LO arrives anyway. Thank you for the offer of watermelon, that's so sweet! Unfortunately I live in New Zealand so it's a bit far away lol but again thank you so much for the offer!

    EDD/Week/Fruit
    April 7th 2015/8w1d/ raspberry

    Worries (rational or irrational)
Work still, although I feel better having made the decision to leave before the year is out. I still worry about my pregnancy of course. I can't shake it!

    Appointments scheduled
I have my first OB appointment and a regular doctors appointment both this Friday. I hope they do a scan at the OB appointment.

    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates
The due date of my first would have been October 27th. That's labour day here so at least I can wallow about and not do anything that day if I feel like it.

QoTW: What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves?
People who just aren't aware of others. My SIL is the worst! She's a nice girl but she just doesn't think of others when she's stomping around like an elephant and making a hell of a mess. She's like a small child and she drives me insane. Also kids that have no respect for adults, or others in general! I know some real little stinkers and it's really just sad.

  • Thank you for the check-in footprint! I doing ok, my first appointment is next week and I will feel better then at least emotionally.

    EDD/ Week/ Fruit: Around 4/18, 6.5 weeks, I can't remember, almost a blueberry I think!

Worries: My first appointment is next Wednesday and I have to go by myself (DH has to work). I am really nervous and scared. We have been on the wrong end of the statistics so many times over the past 3 years and I really need things to go well at that ultrasound. I also went to my endo last week to check my thyroid and it was already too high. I didn't need to up my meds until the third tri last time. Luckily my levels were just a little bit outside of range but I am still worried my faulty thyroid will affect the baby.

Appointments: Next Wednesday I have my first ultrasound and I will get a due date finally!

    Upcoming Milestones: none

Biggest pet peeve: I used to teach high school math and I absolutely could not stand when students just called me "Ms." I had them call me "Ms. last initial" because of my long last name so it wasn't hard. :)

  • @footprint - thanks for asking! My OB appointment went really well. I really like my doctor. She wasn't able to find the heartbeat on the Doppler, so she sent me for a free ultrasound. There was a cute little baby and a heart rate of 175!

    EDD/Week/Fruit
    3/19/15 - 10w5d

    Worries (rational or irrational)
I'm feeling a bit better because my pregnancy was again confirmed this past Friday (10w1d). Although I know something could happen at any time, I am feeling better the further along I get.

    Appointments scheduled
My next OB appointment isn't until September 26, so it'll be a while. I am having an ultrasound on September 4 so I'm looking forward to that.

    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates
    None in the near future.

QoTW:  What are some of your biggest/worstest pet peeves?
When people pick their noses. I'm not sure why but I find it completely disgusting.
