So my mother in law came back with loads of groceries and I helped to bring them inside, I know your not supposed to carry or lift heavy things while pregnant.is my baby alright, I get so overwhelmed with thoughts of loosing the baby. Is it safe to lift?
Re: Lifting heavy things while pregnant
I have heard some of the ladies who have medical jobs say that they are prohibited by their employers from lifting more than 25 lb while pregnant, but even that is probably on the extremely cautious side.

I’m a modern man, a man for the millennium. Digital and smoke free. A diversified multi-cultural, post-modern deconstruction that is anatomically and ecologically incorrect. I’ve been up linked and downloaded, I’ve been inputted and outsourced, I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading. I’m a high-tech low-life. A cutting edge, state-of-the-art bi-coastal multi-tasker and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond! I’m new wave, but I’m old school and my inner child is outward bound. I’m a hot-wired, heat seeking, warm-hearted cool customer, voice activated and bio-degradable. I interface with my database, my database is in cyberspace, so I’m interactive, I’m hyperactive and from time to time I’m radioactive.
Does that sound like a species that randomly miscarries because of picking up a 5 to 10 lb item? Seriously, think about it long and hard. Trust in your own intelligence, because I refuse to believe that you aren't smart enoughto answer that question.
No one was being rude. Just because we aren't telling you what you want to hear about your misconceptions of carrying groceries, doesn't mean we are being rude.
Plus weren't you the one who started a a cramps thread yesterday? Seriously, if you are going to be in a forum, think about your questions. Search old threads.. You will save yourself (and us) the embarrassment and eye rolls
I get it this is your first baby, perhaps you should buy a baby book and READ it. It's better to be a somewhat educated first time mom than to make all first time moms look bad.

I'm a first time mom, so that means you have to treat me like a super delicate special flower, and support me like a bra. Google doesn't work for us because of a special filter.
Total sarcasm, just incase that didn't come across lol
I currently help her do the same thing when I go visit her but I'm not so sure I will do my whole pregnancy.
I did all the grocery shopping and carried all the groceries into my home when my husband was unavailable. I think your fine!
Someone told me not to reach for things on high shelves over the weekend, because the cord STRANGLES THE BABY obvs!!!!!
PSA.
I personally have been bodybuilding for 10 years so I lift quite heavy even while preggo. But everyone is different! Do whats comfortable!
