I know we are new and still developing how we want this board to run, but how are we going to handle BFPs here?
I am only coming from the AL community perspective that unless you've been around for a while and been super supportive then you can post, otherwise you simply move on so you don't hurt others. We're all coming in "relatively" new, so no one really will have "clout" on how long they've been "here". Also, I don't know how IF deal with BFPs. Not that we want to have too many rules starting out, I'm just wondering if it's been thought about. @NariaDreaming do you know if this was discussed prior to the set-up of this board?
ETA title as it seemed a little inappropriate after re-reading it.
I have AL and 2IF experience, and the feelings from the members in both spaces were pretty similar in my opinion. If you're known, the board will celebrate with you. If they don't know you, just move along. What's the point in getting squees from people who don't know you anyway? Personally, that's how I plan to approach it if I ever get pregnant again. Regardless of any written or unwritten rules, it wouldn't feel right to me to announce a pregnancy to people who are struggling to get pregnant unless I've developed close relationships. And I know they'll notice I went missing and stalk me anyway.

Sounds good to me! I certainly have not been around long enough anywhere to feel comfortable announcing knowing I could hurt someone, but just wanted to get it "out there" as it were for others, like me, thinking/worrying about it.
I agree with waiting. Trying to make a bunch of rules before we are at all established seems like a bad idea. Of course, I'm assuming there will be common courtesy and common sense will prevail. This might be a mistake.
Common sense and common courtesy are dwindling in the modern day population they are being replaced by a pernicious disease called Special Snowflake Syndrome.
I agree with what @CheesyPeas said about posting BFP's
This is why I thought to ask. I'm really hoping we can use common sense and common courtesy rather than a bunch of "rules" here.
We might have flybys (though at this point we seem to be pretty buried), and I think we can either ignore them or flame them, whatever makes you happy.
@CheesyPeas is wise. Also you better be AWing that BFP when you get one lady. We will all be holding your hand every step of the way!
You PAL ladies have been amazingly supportive, so I will most certainly be AWing it up to all of you if we get there again. Or perhaps asking you all for hugs as I shake in the corner in the fetal position. Definitely one of those two. And the same goes for you, woman. I wanna know ASAP!

I think it will take awhile for this place to establish its "feel" and it's bound to get drive-bys, especially at first. I don't think rules are necessarily going to fix that, but I don't usually feel like we can count on the common sense of the general public. Pre-coffee thoughts over!
