Re: Weekend Randoms!

  • We were supposed to go to a birthday party today but DD is running a fever and I'm pretty sure that she has hand, foot, mouth disease. So now we are just laying low today. At some point I need to get out the baby clothes and gear and start washing.

Tomorrow we will have dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, I'm excited!

  • We are (finally) at our child birthing class and the facilitator keeps refers to a toliet as a potty.

  • Heading to a friends outdoor wedding. DH is a groomsman so I'm riding with some friends. Fingers crossed that it doesn't rain!
  • I was cleaning up a storm the past few days, but I hit a wall and things are right back to their usual cluttered state. At least I finally went through all the mail that's been piling up and sorted it to file, shred and recycle piles. I bought groceries and meal planned for next week - a handful of crock pot meals because it is supposed to be warm. I did it in hopes that if I was prepared, I would end up in labor and not using them. If not, i have groceries for some very yummy meals.

  • I guess I'm still nesting last week I deep cleaned the living room. Shampooing the rugs and couches and taking everything off the book shelf and dusting it. Today I have an uncontrolled need to wash all quilts, blankets, and pillows on my bed, I also shampooed the mattress. I think I have a serious problem.

That's as wild as it's getting this weekend.
  • I'm busy too...getting stuff or my classroom done while DS is napping and finishing up last minute baby stuff....I looked at my ticker and it said 17 days! I almost died! In reality...it's a week and a half away to scheduled date......yikes! Hoping to get classroom stuff done and classroom set up but we can't get in till Wed!

  • I went to lunch with my friend and her daughter today. A Smashburger just opened in the area and it was sooooo good! I'll def be going back. My friend's daughter is 2 and she is the sweetest little munchkin...she pretty much jumped out of her car seat to give me a hug and then wanted to hold my hand all through lunch :-) She loved touching my belly too and was so interested that there was a baby in there.

After, I went to BBB and finished buying off of my registry. That was pretty fun, but I got so tired halfway through that I had to stop at the recliners and rest for a bit lol. I almost fell asleep haha.

Now, I'm at work getting some stuff done and will hopefully get home nice and early. I'm so tired and I really hope we don't have anything going on tomorrow so I can just lounge around and finish putting the baby stuff away.

  • You ladies that are cleaning house make me feel like a lazy bish.

I am on bed rest due to high BP, so we are catching up on movies today. Watched "Gravity" and now "Django Unchained."

  • Yeah...I feel completely useless now :p you're all cleaning and shopping and whatnot and I'm stuck on the couch. I agreed to work tomorrow (on top of my normal Monday-Friday) so I'm doing nothing and it feels wonderful!
  • We have some friends visiting this weekend and then our baby shower tomorrow :)

  • Mil came in this weekend and made her delicious homemade lasagna and red velvet cake! I'm having some pretty painful contractions so im trying to keep my butt on the couch bc every time I move I get a contraction (woke me up from my nap with DD) :(
I did finish my first DIY project for DS and I'll finish the burp cloths this evening if I'm able to sit at my sewing machine!
DD is doing better with her potty training, Mil took her to get in the pool and she got out twice to go pee! Maybe I won't have two in diapers but I makes me sad that my baby girl is getting bigger, but happy at the same time.
My anxiety is also getting worse I'm scaring myself about my RCS in two weeks. I know it's not going to be like it was the first time and I kind of know what to expect but not completely. I always do really bad with anesthesia, I'm not looking forward to the surgery part.
  • We held a family garage sale this weekend. So much work. I'm exhausted and have been having really lovely painful contractions pretty regularly several days this past week for a few hours at a time but they never get worse so it's really just making me cranky.

Dd2 tripped on a speed bump and has a big gash in her little hand so she's upset. Poor babe. But we are going to head out to my parents for a campfire and some food soon so that will be a good way to wrap up the weekend. Dh's workweek starts tomorrow so this is our Sunday.
  • On top of the usual third trimester misery, I now have a cold. This is miserable and it's not like I can expect DH to pick up some of the slack with DS because he has it too and we all know how some men can be when they have colds..... Ugh :(

  • I am a magnet for trouble this weekend. I fell at Whole Foods last night after slipping on a random single smashed grape on the floor. Now I have a sore butt and a nasty linoleum-burn scrape on my elbow. Then today my friend's kid spilled an entire beer on me (and my new dress) within minutes of me arriving to hang out for the afternoon. Hoping tomorrow is accident-free!

I'm envious of everyone's nesting energy! I'm trying to get stuff done around the house since it's my weekend off, but the energy is not there.
  • My genitals feel like a truck hit them so I'm trying different things to relieve it. So far nothing has worked. Today is my Sunday, so I'm just trying to relax. Just trying to to keep up with the chores and finish crocheting my cat seat blanket for DD.
  • Spent half my day in the ER with my mother. She woke up with severe pain in her back (she isn't one to complain, either), so I took her to the hospital.

After a few blood tests and then her urine being too full of blood (!!) to run tests on, turns out she has a kidney stone. Pretty horrifying expierence when we didn't know what was going on at first! She said the pain was worse than her labors ever were.

  • We're taking the childbirth class this weekend. Day 1 was good, I feel like a huge procrastinator though because I'm the second-closest to my due date. Some of the ladies are due in mid-November. I realized we totally have not thought about pediatricians yet - but that will depend on whose insurance plan LO goes onto, which we also have not given serious thought to.

I finally started painting the crib though!

  • Working on a 24 hour urine, nursing a headache since Wednesday and woke up with a low grade fever and sore throat. Taking loys of Tylenol and otherwise relaxing until tomorrow morning when I go to the lab. Also doing work for my online classes.

Generally uncomfortable and yes docs are aware of all my symptoms. Just monitoring for now unless temp goes over 101

  • @bainidhedub‌ don't feel too badly, at my last class there was a couple who had a 3-week old! At least you're not THAT far behind :)

Typically if the parents are married, a child will have the insurance of the parent that has the birthday earliest in the calendar year as primary and if you out the kiddo on both insurance, the later birthday will be billed as secondary, if you want to have your lo double covered.
  • @reverey‌ that flustered me at first too but I think I figured it out that 3m is 0-3. Also most brands have a size chart that says the weight of that size

Well it's 4am and the heart burn is preventing me from sleep, that and DH's snoring.

Today went to a baby shower for a friend which was nice and then DH and I went for a nice dinner. If I can't get sleep I am not doing anything tomorrow.

  • Northern California just had a 6.1 earthquake! Anyone else now wide awake?!
  • Northern California just had a 6.1 earthquake! Anyone else now wide awake?!
I was awake before it hit, but yeah. I'm 70 miles out from it and my windows shook. Haven't gotten a hold of all my family in that area yet, but friends in the area are ok so I'm trying to stay calm. My mom and son were visiting my mom's MIL 6 miles from the epicenter of the quake today. I DID get a hold of her... she and my DS are back at her house further away and fine.
  • @tromboner‌ It didn't shake my windows in downtown SF but it did shake the bed!

I'm glad your mom and son are ok! I haven't heard anything bad from anyone in the area either but the news report I read said that that size usually causes some minor property damage. I hope that the aftershocks are mild :/

    @wrightpalomo I'm glad you're ok.

6 is a pretty strong one. The '89 quake was a 7. I usually don't feel earthquakes out here in the valley. I was already up and at first thought one of my dogs was shaking the couch, then looked up and saw my windows shaking.

Looks like the damage is mostly in the North Bay Area.
