At DD's swim school they hand out necklaces with a laminated Water Watcher sign on it to use at pool parties, to always have a designated person who is in charge of watching the little ones. It's not uncommon for situations like what happened to you, even when there are lots of people around, it only takes a second.

So sorry! Pools scare the crap out of me. When my niece was younger, she jumped in their in-ground pool & I had to go in after her. I remember shaking & being traumatized after that.

Just now seeing this but couldn't just read this and say nothing... I am so sorry you had to go through that. We see drownings and near-drownings a lot and I've always been scared of it. I'm so glad there was someone who reacted quickly and that your baby is okay.
