FFFC

It's 2:30am and I'm delirious, but I DO remember my confession!!

I've been wearing the exact same outfit (day & night) since Wednesday morning.

  • My baby is an awesome night sleeper.... And my night owl tendencies and off and on insomnia mean I take little advantage of it. It makes me hate my life just a little bit.

If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, I will answer you:
I am here to live out loud!
  • My brothers family and my family are planning a beach weekend trip for next weekend. I initiated the planning, but now I'm just not feeling it. I have my fingers crossed that the weather forecast for that area starts to look really bad so I have a legitimate excuse not to go.
  • I just figured out how to add a gif this week....I also don't know what gif stands for.

  • My brother is getting married in a couple if weeks and I'm trying hard to find a reason not to go. Taking 3 kids 6 hours away for his 2nd wedding to a girl that "hates" kids that I've never met by myself ( H can't make it) sounds like a horror movie.
  • I cringe when people say "month year old". My SO is one of those people.

People say this? What does it even mean?
4 month old - 4 month year old
My SO, friend and a few people on here have said it and I'm like what? No, that's extra.

I have no idea how many "weeks" LO is anymore. I can't keep track.
I think once your baby turns 1 month, you should start counting by months. Same for years, when your kid turns 1 year old, switch to years. Nobody wants to do the math on if your child is 32 weeks or 28 months.
I agree to an extent, but there is a huge difference between a 13 month old and a 20 month old, so just saying 1 year doesn't really cut it for certain situations. Also, I stopped counting weeks at 3 months, but we talke about puppies as 12 weeks old, so why wouldn't we talk about babies that way?
In these scenarios I would just round up or down. A stranger at the supermarket doesn't give a shit if your kid is 20 months or 18 months. Just say a year and a half. And major eyerolls to people who say 23 months instead of almost 2 or what have you. Let it go, they're not an infant anymore.
I agree. It took me some time to adjust to speaking in terms of years though, so I often used months without even thinking about it. It was about 50/50 whether I'd use years or months I think. DD was a preemie, and in general they are considered "caught up" to their age by two years old. Prior to her turning two years old I always had to think of her in terms of months so that I could easily subtract 2-3 months from her actual age to have a better idea about her development. I was slow to adjust from weeks to months for the same reason.

  • I have a large geographic territory for my job. I have one counterpart that likes to infringe on the edges....problem is that I grew up on those fringes. I'm all polite and stuff face to face and should be like, oh we'll as long as the company has a win it doesn't matter but in my head I'm all "stay the frack outta my counties! You want a turf war man?!?!" I'm grabby.

When I was first dating my ex (the guy that I dated from 18-21), I hung out at his place pretty regularly, but I actually preferred checking out his roommate. Honestly, I think that mentality lasted for quite awhile.

Bonus: That ex was married at the time. They were separated (to the extent that she went back home to Brazil even), but I found out later that they had possibly been trying to work things out around the same time that I started seeing him.

He was a douche anyway. I have no idea why I dated him as long as I did. ETA: No, wait. Yes I do. I lacked self-esteem.

A friend emphatically told me that she never wants her daughter to have even a drop of formula knowing I ff and how much I struggled with bf. I hope her supply tanks.
I think far too much value is put on EBF. Is BM best? Sure! But, formula is great stuff. If a person is worried about putting bad stuff in their child I think solids should be a bigger concern. Regulations on formula are extremely strict. I know lots of mom's who put a lot of pressure (and stress) on me to EBF, but they are the same folks who drive their 2 year old through McDonald's once a week.
I think of bf v ff and compare it to fruit. Bm is an apple you buy at the farmers market down the street. It's all home grown n junk. Formula is like buying an apple at the grocery store. No matter where the hell it came from the fruit is still good for you.

We are exclusive bm but it still rubs me when people talk about how great bm is vs formula. Maybe 20 years ago there was a bigger difference, but they have their shit figured out about it.....except for the shit part..... (With ds1 when we started formula he was constantly constipated...bm poo was so much easier for him)
  • Since we are talking about our despicable sexual pasts I'll go. I had a year long affair with my boss at the time when I was 19. We were both in relationships and I was proposed to (by my bf at the time) and accepted. We called off the engagement about a month later. I think the worst of it is that 4 years later i don't regret it. I don't think I ever will. The relationship was unhealthy anyway
  • I started CIO tonight. Baby A fell asleep after about 25 minutes. I'm still watching & listening to Baby B thrash around and scream on the monitor at 47 minutes.
They are 5.5 months. (I don't know how many weeks. ;)
