I've recently started watching Gossip Girl on netflix. The acting is horrible, and the plot lines are stale. And yet I still watch episode after episode.
I started CIO tonight. Baby A fell asleep after about 25 minutes. I'm still watching & listening to Baby B thrash around and scream on the monitor at 47 minutes.
They are 5.5 months. (I don't know how many weeks.
Good thing these confessions are "flame free."
Yes it is, even though the above comment is a flame disguised as a comment. I am sad, too. I have my reasons and have done enough research to feel OK about my choice. For now...
I know you didn't go into detail, but please don't misunderstand what the "cry it out" method actually is. It doesn't mean letting them scream until they pass out. You have to go in and comfort them at regular, predetermined intervals, starting with small intervals and gradually extending them.

Yes, I agree. That is what I have been doing. 3 min, 5min, 10m etc... decided to separate them into two separate rooms (probably should have in the first place) when Baby B woke up A. Now B is asleep in the other room and starting over with A. B s a squaker and a thrasher - even happy and awake. Scream might not have been the best term, but I know their cries and this is her mad squawk. Thank you for offering suggestions. I do welcome them.
Twins are hard and lately I've really sucked at it.
ETA: just did my interval check and B still asleep and A asleep.

I'd say you were new 'round here, but then I checked your username. We've gone soft!

Baby Girl Born: April 2014 If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, I will answer you:
It's a little late, but I use baby powder!!! ::gasp!!!:: I put a little on his bum during diaper changes and he has never had a rash. I think the whole it's a choking hazard thing is BS! (unless you are a moron who is pouring so much on that it creates a giant cloud of powder or you pour it in the baby's nose/throat.)
happily married since 2009, SAHM diagnosed with unexplained infertility, regular cycles Baby #1: ttc naturally for 3 years, 6 yr old daughter Baby #2: ttc naturally for 2 years, 2 yr old son Baby #3: ttc naturally since August 2016
i was telling hubby how ive been sweating lately and it doesnt stink (i used to stink really bad) and even the days that i dont shower it doesnt stink, he says you should take a shower everyday i got so pissed off and said mmmm yes i try but there is other things is my mind before showering, he said well you find time to go grocery shopping why dont you find time to shower or maybe when the baby is napping..... i told him he needed to shut up cause i was about to punch him in the face big time
also he gets sat an sun and i still dont get a break from LO, then he ask why are you so cranky?
asshole i dont get a break or days off like you do so a "honey let me take the baby go take a shower or a nap" would be nice instead he goes ocd and starts moving shit around the house then i go, can you hold the baby? he says well i was about to go wash the cars, mmm no your not here you go and i went upstairs and went on my ipad. i mean fo realz
My DH has been out of town for a week and then working non-stop at our rental apartments for a week. I am pissed that he's been gone so much, so I told him to give the baby a MOTN bottle so I could get some sleep. I knew it would be a disaster for him and I heard everything but just pretended to be fast asleep through it so he could have some of the "quality baby time" I've new having.
@sandbridge1030 I know the feeling. DH is really great, but he cannot seem to get DS to sleep. Ever. This weekend I was a little frustrated that he got to sit on the sofa and watch TV while I tried (for over an hour!) to get DS to sleep so when he came in and offered to try, I said ok! I knew it was going to be a disaster, but I sat on the sofa and just listened. Sometimes they need a little help understanding how much hard work we moms do!

Your not supposed to use baby powder?? FFS are we going to wrap all our kids in cotton wool in 20 years time, or will that be not allowed because of risk of germs!!
Its called common sense! I use a little baby powder, but I don't do the pouring thing, I tip a little into my hand and rub it on where needed - use WAY less that way anyway!

@zazu13 I can't imagine how hard twins must be. Hope it works for you. You certainly don't suck at being a mom!
Night 2 - 15 min of fussing followed by 10 hours of sleep ( for them, not me, since I checked on them every hour!) no regrets so far.
@zazu13 that's great!! I feel like I'm getting very close to the point of stepped CIO.. It takes me hours sometimes to put DS down
I'm sorry @cd92007 I was dealing with that, too, for both night and naps. We have had two good days now and I have been shocked at how little crying there actually has been at sleeptime. They were actually thrashing around in my arms before with me trying to rock them to sleep so that wasnt always no-cry anyway. I just put them both down for naps and one went right to sleep and the other rolled and squawked some and required one soothe/check- in then she went to sleep too. Do what you think is best.

DH isn't comfortable with most behavior issues you see in a foster.
I have a baby now
Dogs like to bite my baby of an 80 lb German shepherd
My cat is friends with my dog so doesn't run or stay away from unfamiliar dogs like she should
So I can't foster dogs anymore even if it would save their lives....
Makes me mad, sad and frustrated
