Today was DS one month check up, his pedi couldn't believe how big he got off just breastmilk.
I feel like i have a giant baby, or some kind of magic milk :-/
I cannot wait for mine to be a total Stay Puft chubbo. I mean, I want his arms to eat his elbows, more rolls than a bakery, his knees to have multiple caps and to have more chins than a chinese phonebook.
What a cutie! I'm sure he will start to soon My DS was 7lb 11oz at birth and although everyone thought that was huge for me (ive always been pretty tiny pre preg. 5'2" 102lbs) he looked so little and skinny now a month later hes 11lbs 9oz! And he grew 2" he has super chubby thighs huge cheeks and he even has little chubby boobs that we laugh at, i love it its so cute. Ill have to post a pic when i have a minute to hop on my computer
In the hospital as a skinny little guy at a day old Vs. yesterday chillin on the couch with me at a month old, and an extra that was about 2 weeks or so.
@litera thanks i think im still in shock that he gained that much so fast lol. We first noticed his baby moobs when my mom thought his shirt was bunched up and went to smooth it out and then she bust out laughing when she felt it, freakin hilarious!

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.
I participated in a pap study today at the OB during my 6 week check up. They paid me 40 bucks and If they call me for the next round I get another 100. And I got free birth control samples.
In the UK, you get them once you turn 25 or after a pregnancy if you're younger. I only turned 25 last year while pregnant (moved to the US in January) and they can't do it during pregnancy so it had to wait until after delivery. I guess it was just a series of odd timings that delayed it.
I did get a letter about it before but was pregnant at the time then too so couldn't take the appointment.
We had our first emergency room visit tonight. For some reason tonight lo was in her bassinet and she make this weird noise and was acting strange so I picked her up and she started making this choking noise and started turning purple like she couldn't breathe, I had her upside down and whacked her back still nothing so I stuck my finger down her throat and just grabbed a lot of saliva with it and she was back to normal color breathing fine and smacking her lips for food. 911 was already called (from panic attack) and they brought her in just to make sure and she was fine all tests came back great they couldn't explain anything ( even if she was choking she breathes through her nose?)
So now I'm going to be a zombie an stare at her sleeping- when will I ever be able to sleep again? I am a hot nervous wreck.
And yes I was in the hospital with slippers no bra and pimple cream on.
Fuck tonight
@Csltdk so sorry you had to go through that! Hope everything continues to stay ok, always better to have something like that checked even if you think you just panicked, you had a hell of a reason to!
@Csltdk this same thing happened to ds1. Making that 911 call was the scariest thing I have ever done. I'm so sorry you went through this. Who knew they could choke on spit?!? Sending hugs!
I took milo up to work to show him off. All he did was scream, so I fed him in my office for over an hour and finally gave up and left because he was so disruptive. I miss work really bad.
I bought a cheap maxi dress from the grocery store
1) because it was five dollars
2) now I can look like Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba
(Uh, sorry it's upside down)

It looks like there might be a hurricane potentially forming in the gulf next week. Ugh. During ike we had $30,000 damage and the house got hit by a mini tornado. I don't want to be home alone with a newborn during a hurricane, mister is mandatory first responder for our transit system and has to go to work during events like that. I know I'm fretting in advance, and it might not even hit Houston.

Would you have enough advance notice to head inland if needed?
Yes. I could go to ILs (I had to stay there for 2 weeks last time bc we had no electricity). I would be freaking out about my cats the whole time alone.
So happy to read about all the other projectile vomiting, diaper explosions, scream fests and totally awful days. Because that is exactly what we are having. I hate when people ask, "oh does he sleep all night? Is he a 'good baby' for you?" Just stahpppp.
Almost every store is putting out fall clothes. While it is all super cute, this is FL and we won't even begin to see fall temperatures until October, if we're lucky! I need a bathing suit for LO, not jackets!
Just learned that the house we are leasing is going into foreclosure in two weeks. I mistakingly got kicked off of my insurance, and my docs office just called and said when see then on Tue we owe just over $1,500.

This is all a bad joke right?!
Thanks ladies- just got back from her pedi and he's sure she has silent reflux so we switched her formula and she's on Zantac. Poor baby and I had no idea
So I ran an errand with the boys, which went well. I brought ds2 in the house first. Well, I didn't realize our backyard door was open and when I went to close the door to get ds1 so our crazy dog wouldn't run out, the door slammed due to a crossbreeze, and door knob got stuck. Oh and my phone and keys were inside where the baby was screaming, the dogs were barking, and I was panicking on the other side. Went to the neighbors house to use her phone to call my mom to come unlock my door, and of course no answer. Thankfully my neighbor was able to open the door. Crisis averted.

DS was on Zantac for months but outgrew his reflux. Life was so much better after he started his meds. Here's hoping your little lady gets some relief!
I really hope it helps her- I feel like a shit parent I had no idea

So glad you were able to figure out the problem. I know that had to be scary. Glad you have gotten answers.
NBR/AW buuuut I just need to share somethjng exciting because I am so happy right now...
I got a new job! I got my DREAM JOB. I'm a college student, and will be for a while as I'm going for social work and need my masters as soon as I finally finish my bachelors. I've only had entry level type jobs because they've allowed me the flexibility to be a full time student, but I just got a great job with the county working at the Children's Crisis Center. I'll be working along side social workers, going on calls, supervising visits, and helping to care for the kids in the home facility they have. They even told me they're looking to promote me continually as my education progresses, and that I can intern and possibly stay on as a social worker for them when I am finally finished.
It pays significantly more than my last job and has even more flexibility and wiggle room and hours to offer me. Though I've loved my 3 years working for Starbucks, I'm really excited for what this job means for my future and the financial future for our family. Not making minimum wage (or barely above it) anymore will be such a turnaround and may lead to us being able to afford a down payment on a house soon.
I was originally hoping to not return to work, but we decided it would be a smarter move financially. It's also a little sooner than I wanted to go back to work, but I can not pass up an opportunity to start my career in a sense. I'm gonna miss my little so much but I am glad that since I do have to return to work, it will be to do something meaningful and rewarding and not to just sling white mochas anymore. I don't think I could bear leaving my baby to such unimportant work in the grand scheme of things.
Sorry for the bunni-esque post, I am just really happy
Re: Random thread- for all things random.

Can't believe how big he's getting
