Jae took his first steps a couple days ago and yesterday he took about 5 in a row towards me. When he flopped into my arms I cried. STAHPPP child! But I'm so proud of him! <:-P

I woke up to Liam coughing in my face this morning. Poor peanut. I hope he feels better soon because school starts in 1 week and I don't want him to have to miss his first day of kindergarten.

Good morning! Riley slept until 5am today! I've been up since then because I can't fall back asleep.

We get to go do the pre settlement walk through on our house today!!!! I am ready to be done with this whole building process! We've been fighting with them about the quality of the brick work and they've made some corrections. I'm just ready to see a beautiful house.

Also, we are going to the Dunk before the house. I'm super excited about that as well!

Hope you ladies are all doing well. Once work slows down I hope to be back here more often.

Woohooo walking babies! Feli still needs one (or two) hands, but I'm enjoying her still needing to hold on *sniffle*

Work is turning out unexpectedly awesome. I mean, I wanted the job, but I thought I would be worrying more about LO. Did not happen. Love the projects they're setting me on and I will be doing all sorts of stuff that will look sparkly on a CV

...of course I may crash and burn and want to go back to SAHM by Friday. But the first two days were very nice.

Morning ladies. Now you've got me thinking about donuts!

So, I've been wanting to ask, has anyone found a solution to end the food throwing on the floor during mealtime issue?

It started as "I'm looking you square in the eye and holding your gaze while slowly moving my arm to the side and gently opening my fist mid air to release the food", then moved to "mom holds her hand under my slowly opening fist mid air while saying 'if you don't like something Adrian, just give it to mama'". And now we are finally at stage "as soon as I see that horrible object that I don't want, it goes flying to the floor faster than mom can bat an eyelash...no catching this food mid air. Saying NO sternly only makes me laugh".

What the heck do I do? It's getting worse!

@econmama‌ how long did it take for her to stop? I've tried ignoring him and it just results in him silently eating his food, with half going overboard if it decides he doesn't like that particular item. Maybe I'll try for a solid week and see what happens. I used to let him do his thing at mealtimes and maybe one item went on the floor but since spending more time with family, my mom kept on him and trying to say "no throwing food" and now it's worse. Ugh

DH has been a true prince lately, he has been cooking and being super helpful with G. After my breakdown 3 weeks ago, we started giving bottles during the night (so I am not needed anymore) and now G is ok if I don't show up!!!!

This has made such a big difference.

Also I started following some of the advice in 'the no-cry sleep solution' and so far it's working. G doesn't STTN yet (but he has been ill and daycare is new to him so I don't expect him to STTN anytime soon) but at least bedtime routine is working like MAGIC! We do bath, pijama, song, BF/bottle, put him in bed awake, turn on music and turn off lights and he falls asleep by himself O.O the first few nights it tool him around 20 min to fall asleep and I had to massage his back and remind him I was there by 'shhh'-ing but now he falls asleep like in 3 minutes without any help from me. It is so freaking great to start bedtime routine and know exacly how it's going to be, before it used to be hell and sometimes I was sitting for an hour in the dark with a fighting baby on my lap, singing and doing what not!

TLDR; DH is helping with night duties and I am well-rested for once... the no-cry sleep solution book is recommended :P

Sorry ladies but that donut was AMAZING! We well worth the extra stop this morning. However, I may need another round of coffee this morning since Allison was up at 4:30a and DH just wanted to chat all night and we didn't get to bed to close to midnight (WAAAYYY past my bedtime!) He is doing to much stressing for my liking right now.

I just popped in to lurk on my Oct BMB and someone had their babies yesterday. (And two other women posted about spending time in L&D yesterday)
They were twins taken early because of high BP, but still the fact that this is even within the realm of possibility is terrifying. October seems really far away!

Well ladies, I'm offficially a part of the molar teething club. G is such a happy kid but with these suckers trying to push through, he is in beast mode. Took awhile to get him to sleep but thankfully he sttn like a champ. Woke upearly at 5. I tried to get him down again to sleep a bit longer but no go. I'm sure he'll be even worse today when I pick him up from dc with his short nap.
~O) to all the mamas!
I'm illegally bumping from work. B-) My first dog doesn't come in till 8.

I watched my cousin's kids last night. Big mistake. I knew they were difficult, but oh man! BDTD moms please tell me that 6&8 is abnormally soon to have a horrible attitude?????

Also, I had to share a twin bed with LO, the queen of bed hogging. I got zero sleep. I'm too tired to even find the coffee smiley on mobile.

Third night in a row of STTN from 6pm-7am :-bd

I can't believe it. I thought she would never sleep. If anyone remembers, for the first 9 months of her life she often woke up every 45 minutes. Then it was every 2 hours. Then every four. Now - AWESOMENESS. I know it won't last, but I'm ecstatic that it can happen.

Hugs to all the mommas dealing with molars! I think we are finally over that hump and it's been a long two months! You have all my sorries.

@casey78 The Divacup scares me. A lot. As in, I'm afraid it'll get lost up there. Totally irrrational, I know.

First night of painting at the new place last night and DH managed to get a few drips of paint on the carpet. *sigh* Any tips to remove it? It's a few really small spots, but I was like seriously DH?

@mrshudson618‌ my sister's ex-husband's new wife was due in October with her twins, and just had them a few days ago. Her water broke early and they ended up getting them out via c-section.

Confession: the new wife's grandmother came into my store and I was helping her skein up some yarn. We got to talking about good ole ex-husband. Grandmother admitted she thinks ex is a douchecanoe (not in so many words). I was sworn to secrecy. She told me even though she KNEW I was ex-wife's sister. Buahahahaha! So much satisfaction. Nobody likes that slimy jerk. (Except maybe new wife.)

Small towns are great for gossip.

Swallow study and upper GI this morning. NPO since 5, at the hospital since 8. Massive, massive meltdowns.

He can't eat until they're done, and they are still taking pictures every 15 minutes because they're not sure yet what they're looking at :-/

ETA: that made it sound like bad news or incompetency, but it's really just that his bowel looks different from everybody else's and they can't tell exactly where they are until they get to the end

@rondosa I try to do the same thing as @casey78 does. I usually give vegetables first and then protein and then the filler. He always likes the filler the best... imagine that, I usually do too

ETA: @rondosa I also just ignore H when he drops food on the floor. He doesn't do it very often because I've never really acknowledged it, I think? Sometimes he'll feed the dog on purpose but I just pretend I didn't see it, lol.

@Byjove03 I worry about Haddy throwing something out of the cart that he shouldn't. Not that anything should be thrown out, but glass jars and whatnot get tucked away to where he can't grab at them. He threw bread, yogurt, peanut butter and Lysol wipes out of the cart last time. I'm not sure how he reaches all that stuff since he's strapped in but he somehow manages!

@rondosa our food on the floor problem is because there are two very interested dogs wanting to lick his hands, so it makes it fun. I started training the dogs to listen to "out of the dining room" and they usually listen when I tell them that. If the dogs are out of sight, then he doesn't throw food on the floor until he is done eating. At that point food on the floor means "I'm done now" so that's when I take him out of the high chair and clean him up. Sometimes he just needs to switch up his routine, though, and I give him his baby fork and spoon to practice with.

Y'know, @casey78 , you should be sure your DH knows there's a historian on the board. I'd be happy to give him/you the "real" history on the matter if he really wants to know.
