My SO wanted to put a dozen eggs in the fair to be judged under Haddock's name. I said ok cool, whatever, if you want to do it then it's all your responsibility. Guess who's taking care of everything and getting ready to go pick the tag up... :-h
@haddocky, it took him less than a month. He got it on his birthday (the 25th) and last week he started ripping the pages. He started tearing out the wires this morning. But yeah, almost a month of being able to cook dinner mostly uninterrupted...worth the $11 for a replacement.
You know how you clean before the cleaning lady comes? Like you pick everything up and put everything away? Yeah, I did that this morning and organized my office. Yeah, she called and can't come until Thursday. At least everything is straight now?
Weaning question - we're doing "don't offer, don't refuse" method, and Pickle hasn't asked in almost three days. I think we're done. Am I supposed to do anything about my boobs? Will the milk just go away - either by coming out, or being absorbed, or whatever? Or do I need to do anything?
I'm kind of sad that we're done and could have gone longer, but I'm a bit excited for eating cheese and not being bitten.
I'm going for a walk this afternoon with a mommy friend and her LO. It's nice because I don't have many friends that have children well, besides you all but that's different.

if you are uncomfortable you can express just enough for some relief, but unless you are getting clogs or knots it is best to just leave it alone
You know what else I will miss about nursing? Nursing pads. For the last 14 months, I haven't had to worry about my nips showing through my clothes when I'm cold.
I looked into tickets for the MSU football game at Maryland....
Its like mid-late Nov and the entire friggin stadium is benches. I'm like...pregnant lady in mid second tri with 1 year old plus cold plus no seatbacks equals no. Which makes me sad.
Think we'll try to get tix to the basketball game.
This reminds me: @lancomechica, want to meet up at the OSU vs. Navy game in Baltimore?!
My dreams of having a private office by my next kid are pretty much shot, and I'm just no realizing this while talking to co-workers. What is it with companies moving to open floor plans?! I might need to do some engineering so I can pump at my desk... (No, I'm not pregnant. Just thinking about the future)
I know I'm like 2x the age of the target audience, but Taylor Swift's new song (and video) "Shake it Off" is pretty good and she is so cute. Pickle even enjoyed it and she typically only likes hits of the 1950s and early 60s.
@ChrissieMeas I need to do that in my office!! We are in an open floor plan trying to medically assess people over the phone.....most of them are hard of hearing! It's ridiculous....
@haddocky have fun on your walk, it's nice to have other mommy friends
Not too much exciting happening around here this week. Dh is taking the older kids camping thurs to sun then they are staying at my parents place at the lake for a couple of nights! It will be a nice way to end off the summer for them.
Allison is walking now and has figured out the water cooler!! Argh, I have to figure something out for those stupid little taps.
I need to buy some new boots for back to work, but I need mid calf (because I'm so short) and wide calf (because I'm still trying to lose weight).....any recommendations? I don't mind buying online, but I'm in canada, so some places won't ship here.....
Team diva cup for lyfe! I could totally see how someone would forget about it (as long as they have it in the right way :P).
Early FFTC because I'll forget by Friday...
I pooped this morning and flushed (I SWEAR I KNOW I FLUSHED). Apparently the flush didn't take or something (it wasn't a big poop so not enough to clog the toilet) but I didn't realize it and DH had to plunge it when he was getting ready for work. X_X He came out of the bathroom and said I didn't need to leave presents for him. lol GAH! I've never done that before! I've had to do the same for him, so it's NBD but really? Girls don't poop! haha
Nikita was convinced when she was younger that only she, daddy, her friend Abby, and the big dog Lestat pooped. The first time she saw our other dog Xena poop she seemed so disappointed. She was certain that moms and girl dogs didnt poop.
We had a play date today with one of our NICU nurses and her daughter! Luke and I really need to get out more....
Milestone of the day: first pillow fight
FKA mimi4347: diaper rash magician and unofficial expert on excrement
This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
Also he is in his big boy car seat for the first time, because DH took apart his bucket to wash it after a puke and now we can't find part of the buckle :-/ X(
But, since we only have one convertible seat that means I get the much newer SUV full time and DH gets to take my stick shift compact. So, win?

:-h ladies! So G has been doing great at daycare. Plays well, eats well and has fun with everyone. Trouble is he only naps for an hour. I drop him off at 645 and don't pick him up till 4. He's a crazy over tired mess until bedtime. I gave in today and put him down for a nap at 430. Wish I could do something for the poor guy. DH and I toured a fitness club today. It is really nice and I'm pretty excited to sign up.
@casey78 yep Android. Blah, that must be the issue. One more reason I need an iPhone. Everything else we have now is Apple so I'm not sure why I still have an Android.
Just letting you all know that I'm here..... Watching. Always watching....
I got about 3 hours of sleep last night. I have an 11 hour day at the store today (stitch n bitch tonight). I think I will pass out when I get home tonight.
PMS can suck it. Before baby I never had any PMS symptoms other than cramping. Emotionally I was a rock. I just spent the last 3 days crying over stupid things and today AF showed up. Do the hormones ever go back to normal? ~X(
Long day at work. Found out my program is not getting renewed by the state. :-S this has certainly provided some anxiety for me. While I will definitely continue to have employment with my agency it will be in a new program.
On the bright side, whatever knew position I take it will contain a lot less weekends and evenings which is amazing!
Time for yoga pants, chocolate and a glass of wine. Night ladies!
@theuntaggablek I'm doing a walk on Saturday with a few girls from a local moms group for raising awareness of ppd and PPA and treatment options. It was started by a family of a mother who took her life six weeks after she had her baby in August 2013 ( I can't even imagine. But if there is one thing I have learned this past year, PPD and PPA are real, know no socioeconomic bounds and manifest in so many different ways. I am so blessed to have not suffered, but I want to support any who have.
@mrads Good for you - hope the walk raises awareness, helps people feel supported, and brings some solace to the poor family of the tragically lost mom.
