Tips on how to administer pink eye drops? I just tried & he clenches his eyes shut tight! I got one near each cornea but that's the best I could do.
@bennieangle - if you absolutely cannot do it, they make a gel you rub on. My daughter got pink eye a ton of times as a toddler and the drops were impossible. They just try to go drops first because the gel causes blurry vision.

I had the best luck with putting the drops in the inner corner of the eye and letting it slide in as he blinks all while he was laying on his back so gravity wasn't fighting me.
... ^^this^^ Drops in the corners while laying down. If there's someone with you, try to distract. Don't dilly-dally. Hands over eye, quick drop, done.
On the Aunt Flo topic - mine returned as soon as the post partum bleeding stopped. Super disappointing. I had mirena placed & bled for weeks with that...and now finally nothing. I skipped my last cycle...so I'm hopeful it goes away for a while
Mirena stops your period? I may have to look into that. I was on Seasonique or Seasonal or whatever it was that only gave you your period 4 times a year. That part was great, the sweating, racing heart, and bloating from it was not.
@Jt7dreamz thanks ! I get some of them from target ( the one she has on in that pic came from there ), surprisingly wal-mart has super cute ones , a lot of them came from Amazon ( they sell them in bulks of every color ) , and Marshall's .

Had this message typed way earlier and apparently it never sent... So some of it is outdated but Whatevs...
@jt7dreamz Oh no! What happened at the baptism?? Sorry things are so rough! Hope you feel better soon!
@smittypants I was scared of that movie when I was little... but then again, I'm still a baby when it comes to scary movies. Maybe ffw through scary parts if LO starts to seem frightened.
@tsmith312 LOVE the clip hanger!! Such a good idea!
@DisneyAddict1 I'd go as far back as possible as long as it's either relevant or helpful, stopping at college years.
@babylimas I felt the same way too until I realized how much money has been raised ($10+ million!!). That would NEVER have happened if it wasn't associated with something quirky like an ice bucket challenge. Most of the videos I see morphed the rules into donate AND ice as opposed to donate OR ice.
So I've never posted in this thread, but @younglove316 I love reading so this seemed as good a time as any to jump in (ps I am super jealous and I can't wait to have an hour or two to myself at night!)
For super quick, lifetime movie-esque reads, I love Nora Roberts. She's my guilty pleasure (and there is usually a fair amount of suspense). I have heard great things about one and only by Emily Griffith so that's next on my list.
I think other boards have book clubs. Would anyone be into one on here?
So. Yeah. Ever since the baby was born, my mother has expressed her desire to come over more, see the kids more, help me out more, etc.
A typical interaction goes like this:
Mom: I'm free today, can I stop by?
Me: Sure! Come on over
(2 hours later)
Mom: You're not going to believe this, but (insert excuse). So I can't make it.
Well, as revealed in a phone call last night, it turns out that she's jealous of where I am in life right now (being a mother to little kids) and can't handle coming over and seeing it because it makes her sad and jealous that that part of her life is over.
How utterly fucked up is that?
She did this to me once before. My husband and I had booked our honeymoon and I was so excited about it. I called her up to tell her about it and she cut me off about half way through and said, "I'm sorry. I just can't listen to this right now. I'm too jealous."
I'm at a complete loss. I told her that if she can't find someway to deal with this, she's going to end up missing out on her grandchildren being small and having a good relationship with them.
I'm just done. I've been trying to solve her problems since I was 14 years old and I'm just fucking done.
@SmittyPants how sad and unfair to you!! You can't control how others behave, only your reaction to them. Its a helpful mantra for certain people in our lives.
@SmittyPants I;m sorry, it really is frustrating ! . My mom is kind of the same way. She gets depressed because life isn't the way she wants it. I just wished she would realize this is her life and you only get to live it once. I'm sorry.. :: HUGS ::

Thanks all. The sad part is she IS in therapy, or at least, she sees a shrink who I'm beginning to suspect only gives her some Valium and sends her on her way. I told her she needs to actually TALK to this doctor about what the problems are, and if he can't help her, then she needs to find a doctor that can.
She's been like this for as long as I can remember. Yesterday was always bliss, today always sucks, and tomorrow is always bleak. It's the way she looks at the world. She's 66 years old and I'm not entirely sure her perspective can change at this point.
I work with ALS patients. I'm all for research and funding said research. Someone said that basically being told to do something makes them not want to do it. I'm kind of like that. Hah I may just donate the money instead of dumping the ice on my head. I need to look up the "rules."

@smittypants ... wow... that's some crazy childish behavior! That's too bad... it's going to suck for her in the long run when she realizes what she's missed out on...
I feed m from both boobs even though she's always on my left side. More than anything I find that my left hip hurts from always being on the same side so sometimes we fall asleep with our heads at the bottom of the bed.
@NewMomma8 Before LO was born my mom and I were talking about my nephew and she told me, "You know I love you and your sister, but I REALLY love nephew!" Ha.
She told me it's more fun this time around because she doesn't have to worry about the grandkids, she can just enjoy them. Makes sense to me!
My mom hasn't said it outright...but I'm pretty sure she feels the same way. All the fun of babies without all the work.
My mom openly admits being grandma is way better than being mom because she doesn't have to do the "hard" part. She gets to do the fun stuff.

@babylimas - Someone may have ready suggested this, but it was wonderful advice, so I'll pass it along.
My daughter got pink eye when she was older, and I was told to tell her to close her eyes then put the drop in the corner of her eye (closest to her nose). You then tell her to open her eyes and blink. The drop goes right in.
The only people I respect on extreme couponing are the ones who donate after. Otherwise I don't understand the point of having 500 bottles of pop or whatever else it is they're always so proud of.
@WisconsinCheese12 Like @bunnyfungo said... The first board gets quiet (cue crickets) ... ... ... My kids are 15.5 months apart. DS1 is only 21 months now. My other BMB has about 20 semi-active participants. Most of our original group moved to Parenting, SAHM, Working mom, etc. very few still participate in the BMB. (We do a twice monthly thread where we post pics of our kids...still only get 10-15 pics)
Buuuut, those that are still around know each other fairly well.
