  • @jensavicci‌ - i loved peddler's village growing up :) haven't been there in years! Great pictures!

    Thanks @jnnfrrose6‌ - makes me feel better!

  • @TexasGirl81‌

    Lol this isn't quite a peddler's market. It's a cute little village with shops and restaurants. Now, a few years back I remember they had a big market area out on the big grassy areas. Maybe that was a peddler's market? Lol idk. If you're ever in PA, I'll give ya a tour ;)

    @reg202‌

    I can't imagine living that far out of the city! It's a beautiful area to visit, so is Lancaster, but I'm a city gal lol jingleberry (gingle? meh, whatever) was so cool as a kid though!

    @Matthew930

    I hope you get a chance to go visit again!

    My sister just called me to come catch a mouse for her. Yeah. Apparently there's a mouse in the kitchen and she called me sobbing, because she's scared. She's 22. When I said no she said she wasn't going to baby sit tomorrow. Her loss.
    Did she catch it? LOL

    I can understand being creeped out by a mouse, but not hysterical scared.

    I'm in complete denial that my 3 year old will ever attend school.

    That's kinda where I'm at... I guess I have 23 hours to come to terms with school! Oops.

    I live out on 16 acres of nothing but fields and woods. We get at least three mouse a year. I just set a trap when I see one and go about my business, haha!

    (I make DH dispose of it though. And rats don't count. Those make me hysterical)

  • Question: DD's umbilical cord stump fell off last night but there's still residue there.  Does that all come off on its own or do I need to do something special?  I guess I just expected it all to fall off at once...

    Yes. With a warm bath is what worked for us. We just used the washcloth over it a few times gently and now it's clean as a whistle.

    They managed to chase it under the dishwasher, where it will probably die. The cat injured it (and may have brought it in the house to begin with).

  • I just asked my DH if he was depressed. He said "I think the only thing keeping me from crying all day is my hard head. I just keep telling myself that shit is for the weak and I have to keep going because too many people depend on me."

    Sigh. Keep him in your thoughts if you can please. Convincing him to see someone is gonna be hard.

    *hugs* It is so hard to get men to address mental health. I just wish he could look in the future and see how much better he'd feel if he had some intervention. It's not weakness, it's chemistry (and I'm a chemist, so you can tell him an expert told you). I'm thinking of you both.

    Thinking of you guys - my H is having a much harder time with life right now than I am, and it's so hard to convince men that their feelings are valid and important!
    Yes! I keep telling him that he's not meant to carry all that stress and he says "It's my job." Breaks my heart.

    I add almost a tablespoon of chipotle powder to the brownie batter and the same of chunky sea salt, wait until cooled and then add coconut pecan frosting with more sea salt sprinkled on top. Adds salty sweet to the spicy. Freaking awesome.

    I'll also add a pinch of chipotle powder to milk, steam it, mix in espresso shots and Ghiradelli chocolate syrup to make a Fireball latte.

    You Madame are spectacular. Thank you very much.
  • DH insists on watching WWE at bedtime and it drives me up a wall. I keep telling him I can't stand it and he puts it on anyway. It makes me want to throw the TV out the friggen window...

    *sorry to anyone who likes it, I just can't stand it on in my house

  • I've got the most intense craving right now for a specific kind of juice from back home. Pretty sure they stopped making it over 15 years ago so not sure what made me want it  :-/
  • DH invited a couple of friends over to hang out tonight. I was messing with the baby most of the night so it wasn't until they were here for awhile that I went out in the living room to hang out as well. All of a sudden I hear one of them coughing. He apparently had a "sinus infection" that he's getting over. What the eff DH? You seriously let someone sick come into our house with our 7 1/2 week old? I'm more than pissed right now. A huge argument is going to happen in our house when they leave.

    Sitting here with baby girl in my arms, singing her a lullaby my mom used to sing to me. I watched her close her eyes and then had an involuntary smile with perfect timing. Made my heart absolutely melt. I just had a happy cry. I love my baby.
    That's so beautiful dude, I love hearing things like that, it reinforces my own feelings towards my Little Dude. I sing "Somewhere Out There" from American Tail- a song my mother and I used to sing to each other when I was a wee one. It's amazeballs to pass on traditions to help form these tiny humans isn't it. I'm stoked for you @summerlovin314 thank you for sharing bebe.

    You girls--I've been doing the happy tears thing with The Rainbow Connection from the old muppets movie. I love that I'm not the only one :)

  • Laughs while the baby is sleeping/dreaming are the most precious ever. I seriously love this little guy beyond words. I really like how he fusses for DH and then I'll take him and sing "you are my sunshine" and ask is well.

    Also, DH will hold the baby and they are both out in 2 minutes. How? Why? I want sleep too! As I pump so DH can feed so I can get sleep...I'm not sure if this is going as I planned with the whole feeding schedule lol

    @litera‌ idk how you got all that done, but seriously jelly over here. I managed to get the dishes done and trash bagged while baby wearing then LO had enough.

    DH says the exact same thing to me.  It's so hard to hear.  Hopefully you can help him find something to get through it.  We're still looking for the right solution in our house too.
  • DH is back at work today. My only goals are to feed the kids and hopefully myself. Anything else is above and beyond my duties as a SAHM to a crazy 2yo and a needy newborn.
