When I went to the doctor last week they told me my baby is weighing at 32 weeks but I'm 36 weeks... He weighs 4lbs 11oz... Is there something I should do to help him gain more weight before he's born??
Babies come in different sizes and just because you're measuring behind, doesn't necessarily mean anything. Also, if you were concerned, why didn't you ask your doctor? If your doctor isn't concerned, then you shouldn't be either.
I don't know if I would consider that underweight though. They usually gain about a 1/2 lb a week for the last month - so that would put your LO at 6-11 ish providing you only go 40 weeks. That's also providing that the growth scan is accurate. Those can be hideously inaccurate both ways (some ladies think they are having little babies and end up having 10 pounders - others are told they are having 9 pounders and have 6 pound LOs.) You really have to take what they tell you in regard to size with a grain of salt. I'm sure your LO is just fine!
Like everyone else said, what did your doctor say? Some people have 5lb babies and some have 10lb babies. They are all different. If your doctor isn't concerned, don't be. And ultrasounds have a big error of margin when it comes to weight. Growth is different. If your baby is not growing, that's a problem. But maybe yours will just be on the lower side interns of weight.
My lo has been measuring small also. As long as they are continuing to grow, don't worry. As talked about above, there can be a huge margin of error, like 2lbs difference. Ask your doc but don't change your diet to try and plump that baby!
Trust me, your doc would have said something if he seemed concerned about the weight. If you're still concerned, please don't hesitate to bring it up at your next appointment or call tomorrow. Also there is nothing you can really do about baby's size. Eating more or less own't make him/her gain more. There are way too many factors that go into why a baby may or may not be growing and why a baby may be big or small. Eating more or less won't do anything (unless you're literally starving yourself).
FYI this is coming from someone who literally had a baby that was too small and had to deliver early because she wasn't getting her nutrients/growing.Nothing I could or couldn't do but to monitor and prepare for delivering early.
That's what my baby weighed on Thursday, and it still put him in a normal percentile. Your doctor would have definitely said something or sent you for more scans to check. My baby's weight was normal but doctor was concerned about other measurements, so I'm going for another scan this week.
And definitely agree with @JustCricket there's not much you can do. Keep eating healthy and call your doctor if you are concerned.

Re: My baby is underweight?
There's really nothing you can do...There's a margin of error by a few pounds for ultrasounds, so your baby could be bigger or smaller than predicted.
