Can I bitch about the city shutting off the water again? No notice, no eta for when it will be on again. Fuck you, Houston. My daily shower is my one reprieve. Ugh.
We cloth diaper. I need to be able to wash diapers, dummies.
Alice has been a good sleeper anyway, but last night she went from 11:30 to 8:30 this morning! And after playing all morning, she's out again! She's celebrating her one month birthday in style today.

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.

Dude, I'm thinking of painting my kitchen and cabinets today.

MiniMe likes to sleep with the blanket over her face. I found this out by accident when she was crying and fidgeting then the blanket fell over her face and she went straight to sleep. She's tired but I don't want to cover her face in blanket so there's a complex system of folds that have the blanket over as much of her head and face as possible but with a space where her nose and mouth are and I can't get anything done because I keep getting up to check on her.
Why do they always want what the advice says not to give them?! She also prefers to sleep on her tummy (I don't let her) because what do experts know. I'm convinced she does these things on purpose just to freak me out.
I feel like a super slacker,I never got around to posting LO's birth story and I haven't even cracked open her baby book.
I don't even have a baby book.
+1 and +1. DS1 has a baby book but the other two don't. I suck.
DS1 doesn't have a baby book either. But my plan is to write letters to each of the boys as they grow up. Just little, easy letters about what we are doing during the day or some event that happened in their lives. I don't feel guilty if I don't write one immediately and I like being able to cover a variety of things in one shot. I'm going to actually buy a little journal for each boys and do the letters in there instead of the loose leaf I've been using. DS1 already has a nice stack of letters.
This was kind of my plan except I got DD an email address and have sent her emails along the way and pictures of her ultrasounds and events. So then I might not feel so bad about the baby book lol...
Where did 'bye felicia' come from? I've seen the hash tag a few times...
The reality show "party down south"
@amlonica It came from the movie Friday. With Chris Tucker and Ice Cube. Felicia was the freeloading neighbor. I took the liberty of including the clip because it's one of my favorite movies. I could watch it everyday.
Sorry I should have added a few more details to my comment. It's been re popularized at least around here by the show party down south. I'm very familiar with the movie "Friday" DH should have hung out with smokey back in the day lol.
LO is 6 weeks and I feel like I have a completely different baby- she screams over the littlest things... I sneezed while feeding her and it turned into a 15 minute scream fest.
Today was the first day I cried while she cried and thought to myself I think I need a break. Sigh
Uh WTF scrubbing bubbles. You're taking some of the coating off my toilet. I think you're scrubbing a wee bit too hard.
This has so happened to me with my toilets!
Did you also use scrubbing bubbles or a different brand?
Scrubbing bubbles foam spray in the can. I loved how clean it made me feel everything was...then I started noticing the coating was coming off my toilet seats. So now it's all turning a slight color, becoming a little rougher and looking dirtier! Boo! I have switched to the natural Clorox spray and a cloth, but it just doesn't feel as clean. And now I need new toilet seats.
I should not have read and watched the Giver so soon after having a baby. I held Alexander for a couple hours after reaing the book yesterday and again after the movie today.

DD is six weeks and has been crying a lot more than she was prior. So you're not alone.

Mine is 6 weeks and we are going through the same thing. I feel like I read somewhere that the fussiness peaks at 6 weeks... I really hope so because this is hell and I feel so bad for DS because he seems so miserable. We are also fighting terrible gas pains after most feedings. We have been using gas drops, chamomile tea, i cut dairy for the most part and he is still getting them, I am at a loss as how else to help him and I feel like a terrible mother =[

Yep another one here. Pacifier falling out of mouth? Screammmming. Head butts me? Same thing.
DH goes back to work a week from Monday. I am really starting to get sad, I have loved having all this family time this summer and I am so sad it's coming to an end.
Add to that we are house hunting and because of housing prices in Connecticut can't afford to buy in the area I grew up. We are looking in an area I am not familiar with at all and it's making me very nervous and anxious. I know moving is for the best (our apartment is just too small for us, not to mention we pay way too much for what we have) but I'm not ready... I don't know if I'll ever be.
Fuuuuuuck 236 new posts?! I haven't checked this thread since August SEVENTH?! Man. Newborns really make bumping difficult. Anyway, hi guys! Did I miss anything good?

We took the kids out to a place called peddler's village today. It was way out in bumblefuck pennsylvania. We couldn't do a major vacation so, instead we chose to have a few day trips so that the kids could get out and have some fun before school started back up. This place had the cutest little shops and things. Lots of handmade crafts and clothing. There's a section called jingle berry fair with a merry-go-round and a big soft jungle gym play area. So, the kids got to enjoy that along with some ice cream, of course. I came away with some Italian spreads, balsamic vinegar and recipes. And little Max was a good baby the whole day! Everyone kept cooing over him lol. I was so happy because this was his first long car ride and he slept 75% of the way. The rest of the time, he spent his time staring at his sister lol. We saw lots of scenery that my kids so aren't used to. They saw cows and horses on some farms and the kids went nuts Lol. They even asked me why the farm areas were so empty? Overall, It was fun day and a beautiful drive.
I grew up 10 minutes from Peddler's Village. It is a nice place. It is also in the middle of nowhere. At least that's what I thought until I moved to Lancaster.
Glad the kids enjoyed it--Giggleberry Fair was the dream when I was growing up.
@Matthew930 I'd say just keep working with it. DD would wake up anytime between 2a-3a after the bedtime feeding around week 4. I'd go to her 2 times to settle her after a few minutes of fussing and on the 3rd time she'd get fed. That lasted up until this past week and for the week or 2 before that it was closer to 4 before she'd make noise and then next thing I knew it was 6am. Of course, there's growth spurts in there, but it's working for us.
