FTM here, how many are waiting until baby is born for the tdap vaccination? My doctor says she'll have me do it at my next appointment (I'll be 32 weeks then) she also mentioned it was optional, but I just wanted your thoughts on it.

Re: Tdap vaccination
Getting it now is thought to pass some immunity to your unborn child, which is why it's recommended during late pregnancy for all expecting mothers. Not worth it to wait, and if you're planning to get it afterwards anyway I don't understand the rationale.

You didnt get one with your last pregnancy? Im assuming I dont have to get one again since mine was only 2 years ago.
As for where to get it, my DH was able to get it free at the local Health Dept because of having a newborn. It may be the same for pregnant women too. Im in VA-I dont know if that varies from state to state.

My mom and dad who will be around the baby a lot will also be getting the vaccine.
My hubby just got his today!
I'm also asking grandparents to get one.
28 week appointment and DH is always up to date on his shots because he travels a lot for govt work but I need to double check exactly when he had it. All of my immediate family have it or are willing to get it except my mom and brother so I need to talk to them again and make them realize how important that and the flu shot are.
