For a boy we will probably go with Zachary James or Alexander James and call him Lex (big Smallville fans, here
For girl we wanted to honor my grandmother and his aunt who both passed with the name Elsie Diane, and we would call her Ellie for short. I also really like the names Macy and Paige, but I can't get the hubs on board.
We decided Jayce Josef for a boy and Joycelynn Jean for a girl. My mom passed away when I was 5 and Joyce Lynn was her name, and my grandmom who raised me is Jean. Good way to honor these wonderful two women!
TTC # 1 since 11/2013 Hysteroscopy 10/28/14 - septum removed HSG 10/31/14 - All Clear!
Ya my husband is also ruining my baby naming dreams. He just says NO to everything but doesn't suggest anything he likes. Lol
I told DH I have had a name picked out since I was 12. I even found a piece of paper at my parents house that I wrote it on when I was 12 or so! I'm not changing that (ok, I would if he had a legitimate reason, but he doesn't).
DH loves Marshall and (can't remember it now, but there is another and it's after a baseball player???). I didn't like Marshall until we had a neighbor with a son named Marshall. I've loved it since.
I used to be madly in love with a kid named Marshall. Oh *sigh* 13 year old love....
Everyone asks if our son was named after Hunter Pence. He was traded to the Phillies right before my son was born, and i SWEAR we had the name picked out before.
I like talking about names with different people! I know all the Baby Name regs so well :-)
BNB is the best. I mean, minus the TTGP board of course.
Fair warning, OP-if you do well here, you'll do well there. The BNB isn't a fan of kre8tive spellings or stuff like that. It's a very "tell it like it is" place.
We've got ours picked out for the first boy and girl. Caiden Thomas for a boy and Harper Leigh for a girl.. for the third planned kiddo..I love Lilah for a girl (gotta convince DH more..).
DH is really the picky one with names, and we both know so many people that we're like.."Nah..I remember someone with that name, and they were..blah blah blah."
His method for picking a name, no kidding: Would it sound good being announced at a sports game? Seriously.. men are weird.
DH shoots down every name I suggest. The only thing he's come back with is "Maximus" which I keep reminding him, is a dog's name. He and his siblings have super boring common names and my siblings and I have unique names so I think we are coming from two different places here. We have elderly relatives named Alden, Lucille, Freda, and Louise and I love those names but he hates them.
I love Birdie for a girl DH thinks I am cray and you can't name a child that . My next pick is Eleanor still trying to convince DH the deal is I get to pick girl names he gets to pick boy names.
The only thing he's come back with is "Maximus" which I keep reminding him, is a dog's name.
No, it's not!
I have a Maxwell if the imus is too much for him!
I like Maximus better than Maximillan which is just too much of a mouthful for this southern girl.
@PenguinMG I love using a family name and all of my children have at least one family name. Typically it's the middle name although my 4th son is named after my great grandfather and his paternal grandfather, he he goes by his middle though.
Just because I think they are awesome names
Spencer Loren
Maxwell Lewis
Holden Lance
William Lucas
Levi Turner
edit because I'm an idiot... Turner is my grandmother's maiden name ... opps don't tell anyone I forgot why his middle name is what it is that is just embarassing
I'm dead set on Wyatt for a boy (not sure J is 100% on board with it but she has no choice since she insists the baby has her last name.... The middle name will derive from my last name)
I go back and forth with our girl name. We were set on Mason...but I'm not sold on it anymore.... Especially because we can't think of a middle name we agree on (MN has to start with M too.... So it makes it harder) So we're kinda back to the drawing board with a girls name
We like McKenzie Rose for a girl and Eli James for a boy.

I like Henry Michael for a boy (my dad and grandpa's names) but DH likes Nolan. I'm hoping he will cave. For a girl we are agreed on Cordelia Mae whom we will call Cora.
MIL keeps asking if we will be using HER family names when we have kids, and I'm like NO. They are all horribly old fashioned or super common names. Now she wants me to use the names she would have given her boys if they had been girls. One of the names is my little sisters name, but MIL says that shouldn't matter!
Haha, MIL is always good for a laugh! Crazy old bat.

Hunter was *this close* to being named Maximus....
..until my friend named his dog Max. I fought hard for it. I really did.
Also, I have loved the name Hayden since I was a teenager, until someone pointed out it's the same as Jayden/Aiden/Cayden. I can never un-see that now.
@littleliverpill that is exactly why he likes that name. haha @Joy2611 and @kelly72 I do love the short version, "max" but dog name or not, "Maximus" is alot of name for a little person
We currently want Ruby Jean (using the double name cause we're Southern like that) for a girl and Archie (maybe Archer?) Glenn for a boy. Both are combos of family names.
I like Sadie for a girl and Riley for a boy. I don't like that Riley is getting a lot of use for both genders so I might nix that... But it is a family name and I really like it.
@fogleer - We have an -er last name and I love all those names you mentioned with it!
We are both teachers, so there's a lot of names that one likes and the other has a negative kid/work memory associated with. (sigh) Right now we love Asher Everett for a boy and Berkeley Hazel or Berkeley Aurora for a girl. Also, hi we sound like hippies.
We're pretty set, since we've had long enough to do it. 1st girl: Catherine Claudia 'CC' - also, adorable monogram. (although the order might change because Claudia is growing on me) 1st boy: Benedict 'Ned' Timothy or Leonard, we haven't hashed out MN yet.
H's favorite girl name is Persephone. He loves it. Persephone Anne. I really like it too, but I don't know if we'll take the plunge. I also love the boy name Hamish. Margaret is on our list almost purely for the NN Daisy.

Norah for a girl but not sure about a middle name. H really likes Penelope which I love as well but I've also recently thought Josephine would be nice as well since it was Abuela's name. We obviously still have time to decide though.
But - they're only a little person for a miniscule fraction of their life. Better a big name to grow into than a cutesy name that they outgrow. You're naming an adult, not a baby.
Yes I agree! I still don't think I love Maximus, but the fact that others don't find it a ridiculous name has me thinking about it a litte more

When we bought DD's Christmas stocking we bought a matching one with a G on it since it works either way.

Boy #1 ~ Benno Galen (Benno is DH's great grandpa's name - pronounced Ben-oh, not like the gas aid medicine. And Galen is his uncles name)
Boy #2 ~ Mason Allen (Allen is my dad's middle name)
Girl #1 ~ Aubrey Lynn (Lynn is my mom's middle name. If you add an e to the end of it, it also happens to be DH's mother's middle name)
Girl #2 ~ Mackenzie Raye (Raye is my middle name)
