  Re: the sippy cup - some therapists believe that it can lead to speech or even structural issues if they're used too much. The oral cavity is growing and changing so much that prolonged use of pacis, sippy cups, etc. can lead to "bottle" mouth by shaping the oral structures around whatever is in the mouth the longest. Developmentally there's not a need for sippy cups. They say to do open cup or straw cup instead.

  I know with DS in particular sippy cups are strongly discouraged. All with the goal of strengthening oral muscles to help talk earlier.

  MY BEST FRIEND IS PREGNANT!!!!! I just got off the phone with her and can't tell anyone yet, so I'm saying it here. She's due in April and I'm over the moon. We've known each other for 33 years. We spent 18 of those years as kids living next door to each other and she's the closest thing I'll ever have to a sister. She and her husband are going to be great parents and I'm just BURSTING with joy for them!!!!

  MH finally signed his contract for his new job today! I also managed to get J into a decent daycare at the last minute that will only eat up about 1/4 of MH's monthly take home pay.

  
  

  In other randomness, I just put my 4 1/2 month old to bed in a size 12 month sleeper because his legs are too long for a his 9 month ones. This child is going to be taller than me by the time he's 10.

  Re: cradle cap - all I did was give her head a good scrub with a wash cloth and j&j. Then I brush it with an old toothbrush and kinda swirl/flake off the ick. After every other/3rd day shampoos she's been gunk free for months.

  @SmittyPants‌ that's awesome! My best friend is trying to get pregnant about now too. So far no BFP though. I'm totally trying to convince all my friends that they should have babies. Now that my bar hopping life is over... I might as well recruit some new moms lol
