@footprint - I had a really positive ultrasound last Thursday! My little peanut was measuring a day ahead (my EDD was moved to 3/19/14) and had a heart rate of 158 bpm. I was so excited!
ETA: Good luck on your NT ultrasound. I'll be sending you positive vibes! Your vacation sounds amazing!

    EDD/Week/Fruit
    3/19/14 - 8w5d - not sure on the fruit

    Worries (rational or irrational)
I was calm for a couple days after the ultrasound on Thursday, but then Sunday my symptoms seemed to disappear. I know that fluctuating symptoms are totally normal, but it still feels scary to me. My nausea and food aversions/cravings have since returned. DH and I told our families and best friends about the pregnancy this past weekend. It was really exciting, but I dread un-telling everyone if I miscarry. I'm trying to think positively, but miscarriages are really common in my family so I'm still holding my breath.

    Appointments scheduled
My first OB appointment is now scheduled for 8/22/14.

    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates
My prior blighted ovum was discovered at 8w2d, so I have passed that milestone. The fact that I actually saw my LO means that I'm definitely not going to have another blighted ovum this time.

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best?
My trip to Paris a couple years ago. It was awesome because it was my first time to France and I enjoyed seeing all the sights with my friends.

  • Hi all. Would like to join if I may.

Worries (rational or irrational): That this pregnancy will be another ectopic

Appointments scheduled: 48 hour blood draw tomorrow at 4pm; first ultrasound 8/29

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates: Due date for ectopic was 9/26. So, getting closer. Six months post-op now though!

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best? Paris when I was 24 (Seemingly so long ago now!). It was the best because it was the first time I was out traveling in the world on my own - not to mention that it was Paris of course!

Worries (rational or irrational): I bought a Doppler and tried it for the first time last night. I would feel better if I for sure found the HB. I think I did very briefly, but I'm not sure.

Appointments scheduled: OB on 8/25 and NT Scan on 8/26

  • EDD/Week/Fruit:
February 9, 14 weeks 3 days, two ninja lemons!
Do I have to stop my check-ins since I am out of the first tri?  Wow, who'd have thought I'd ever make it out....

    Worries (rational or irrational):
This week has been filled with so many irrational AND rational worries.  One of my biggest worries was overcome this morning.  I was afraid to tell my mom that I didn't want her to stay here when the babies are born.  She has MS and I always joke that I wouldn't trust her to carry her iPad across the room, let alone my babies!  She was THRILLED that my sister will be here with me and that she doesn't have to do it.  I made sure to tell her all the things she CAN do.  Laundry, food delivery, errands, etc.
Also, I have been worried this week about where to deliver.  I never considered this a question because my SIL works at my FAVORITE hospital and I always assumed I'd deliver there.  Well, with twins and the very good possibility of them coming early, I'm stressed that they won't let me deliver there since there is no NICU or high risk care.  The downtown hospital is okay, but all the perks of family working there are gone.  UGH.  Another question on my list for the OB next week....

    Appointments scheduled:
EIGHT DAYS!  Not that I'm counting.  We should find out the sexes hopefully!!!  After seeing so many ridiculous nub theory posts on F15, I googled it. According to that dumb theory, I am having a girl and a boy, which is what the ultrasonographer thought last time, so we will see!!  We have names picked out (girl narrowed down to two) as of yesterday if that is the case.  If we have two of one sex, we have to rethink.
Girl:  Charlotte Abigail or Harper Abigail (nn Charlotte or Harper)
    Boy:  William McDaniel (nn William)

    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates:
Milestones blown to bits and long passed!

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best?
Such a hard decision.  Instead of cars, etc. my parents always gave me and my sister trips for big occasions, so I've been a lot of places.  London, Brussels, Berlin, Vienna, Venice Florence, Rome, Paris, Salzburg, Estonia, Helsinki, St. Petersburg.......DH and I got married in Florence, Italy so that was pretty badass!!!  Our honeymoon was amazing as we trained it around Europe for two weeks.  We hit festival season in Austria so that was probably the best!!!!

  • @footprint It's been an ok week, lots of migraines lately which are just killing me. 2 more weeks until the next appointment, yes! :)

    EDD/Week/Fruit 3.14.15/9+3/olive (or cherry)

Worries (rational or irrational) Mainly about these migraines... today is the 3rd one in the past week. It's impossible to function.

Appointments scheduled Next appt is on the 27th, for our 12 week check. (I'll be 11w4d)

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates Getting all good feedback at 8 weeks was one milestone for us, getting to 12 will be amazing!

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best? I've had a few great ones. NYC with my family before my brother deployed was amazing, so much history + family time was so wonderful. The other would be Disney World with my DH and kids earlier this year. Disney World will always be a favorite.

My first OB appt went great. I feel slightly excited for once. While we were there they asked us if we were interested in testing and I decided yes as long as it's non invasive (ie. Blood draws only). My symptoms are okay I'm utterly exhausted.

    EDD/Week/Fruit 8w3d raspberry 3/21/15

Worries (rational or irrational) just worried about my diet right now. I'm having a hard time with veggies they all smell rotten to me. I even had DH smell to check and nope its just me. PGal brain is easing up a bit

Appointments scheduled 9/12 is my twelve week appt!! And I'll be doing my blood draws for the panorama test.

  • @footprint‌ thanks for the check-in and congrats on passing all your milestones! EDD/Week/Fruit 3.28/7w3d/Blueberry Worries (rational or irrational) Last night I had a dream I was bleeding and then m/c. It was terrifying. Now I'm scared it's going to be real. I haven't had any m/s yesterday or today which makes it worse. I know that it could very well mean nothing at all but these things greatly mess with a PGAL mind. That is too bad that DH couldn't go snorkeling! Maybe you should plan another trip, before this baby is here...I have a two bedroom house and when I bought, I decided I am never moving again. I moved like 14 times in 6 years of college and graduate school and I hate moving. So, if we are having a girl, she and my son, will just have to get used to sharing a room because that is really the only option. At least you have a while before new baby will need to move out of your bedroom (I am assuming new baby will be in your bedroom for a while). Things have a way of working out, no need to stress about it yet. If you have new baby in a bassinet or rock n play next to your bed for the first six months, you still have a year until the baby needs a crib in a bedroom, so you do have some time before you have to get a new place. Sorry I am rambling. Glad you are well!

Wedding pic.....our fifth anniversary is next month
Feel free to stay in our check-in. The more the merrier! I understand the worry about where to deliver. It would be nice to have the perks of a family member being on staff there, but in the end, it is all about the safety of ninjas. Have you spoke with your OB about vaginal versus c-sections? This is my experience: I had an emergency c with my son and was in the hospital for 48 hours. I could have stayed longer, but I wanted to bust out of there pretty bad. Time went so quickly, I didn't really even notice anything. I had zero sleep and handfuls of painkillers, so it is all a blur. I would talk to your OB about it, but I wouldn't stress too much.  I've been watching the nub theory on F15, too. Maybe there is something to it? Love the names!

@footprint It's been an ok week, lots of migraines lately which are just killing me.

Whenever I see your EDD, I think to myself, she is due on Pi day, then I think, wow I am really a dork. I am so sorry about your migraines. Are they pregnancy related or do you just get them? Can you take anything for them? Does anything help so that you are able to function? I liked NYC, too. It was neat to see and experience it. I live in and was born and grew up in Chicago, but NYC is such a different energy.

  • Hi everyone!

    EDD/Week/Fruit
    4/5/15 Week 6, sweet pea
    Worries (rational or irrational)
Baby is forming his/her heart, live and kidneys these days. The same organs that gave Lincoln so much trouble. That's pretty scary for me.
    Appointments scheduled
First ultrasound scheduled for 8/26, two weeks from today
    Upcoming milestones/Loss dates
No milestones for me, at least not until new baby is 8 months. Lincoln was full term.
QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best?
While I loved my honeymoon to Mexico, my favorite vacation was with my husband to Washington DC before we were married. We just had to much fun walking through the museums, eating great food, even enjoying the 8+ hour drive there. We just had fun the whole time.

@footprint‌ hope your nt scan goes well! My first OB appt went great. I feel slightly excited for once. While we were there they asked us if we were interested in testing and I decided yes as long as it's non invasive (ie. Blood draws only). My symptoms are okay I'm utterly exhausted. EDD/Week/Fruit 8w3d raspberry 3/21/15 Worries (rational or irrational) just worried about my diet right now. I'm having a hard time with veggies they all smell rotten to me. I even had DH smell to check and nope its just me. PGal brain is easing up a bit Appointments scheduled 9/12 is my twelve week appt!! And I'll be doing my blood draws for the panorama test. Upcoming milestones/Loss dates QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best? Our honeymoon in orlando! We went to harry potter world and it was amazing. I am a huge huge harry potter fan!!!
Sorry about vegetables smelling awful. I really like vegetables, so I would be mad. I wasn't going to do any testing either, even though I am AMA, but then i decided to do the NT scan because I don't want to wait until 20 weeks to see another u/s picture. I will do the blood if the NT scan gives us reason for further testing. I was in Orlando in March. It is an interesting place. How does the entire city not have left turn lanes? I mean, really? Everyone whipping shitties everywhere! It was a crazy place to drive. Crazier than Central America, even.

ETA Whipping shitties is what my husband calls u-turns. IDK if it is common colloquialism, or if it is just him, but after 14 years, I have started saying it too.

  • @racegurl87 I know you are in Germany, please don't feel the need to check-in if you are uber busy. How was the flight? How are you feeling? When do you return?
Since H is working I'm not super busy. My flight was okay, I was nauseated most of the time so that wasn't fun... I tried to sleep but that didn't work out so well, so I took a nap after H picked me up. I'll be back in the states in a couple weeks.

    EDD/Week/Fruit
    3/1/15, 11w, and we're now a lime

Worries (rational or irrational) I'm doing okay, I keep having what I believe is RLP and when it started it kinda freaked me out a bit. Is it weird that I still keep checking for spotting?

Appointments scheduled My next appt isn't until Sept 8th at 15w

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates I already passed my loss milestone, but my loss date of 11/7 is still looming

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best?
I'd say the best vacation ever was last summer when we went on a Western Mediterranean cruise with some friends. It was a lot of fun and the food was amazing.
I'm sorry, I don't know what RPL stands for. I've noticed that I have been checking for spotting more lately, too. It's not even a conscious thing, I just catch myself doing it. I am sorry that the flight was hard. I don't even like to think about being nauseous on an airplane. I have a little bit of claustrophobia, so that is scary to me. Enjoy your time in Germany.

Worries (rational or irrational): I am uber paranoid about my appointment tonight...I think it just is something I need to deal with the week before an appointment now.  And, today I don't seem to have many of my usual prego symptoms....which I'm grateful for since I can focus more on work (I got the...you're underperforming speech yesterday from my boss) and I'm nervous because they let me know my body is still being prego!

Appointments scheduled: 5:30pm central today...12w check-in.  I will feel so much better once we get that heartbeat on the doppler!

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates: thank heavens I'm done with these!

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best?  Before we were married I took my DH to Alaska which is one of my favorite places and he had never been before.  The weather was spectacular and we went hiking, ATV'ing, camped in Denali, climbed a glacier, saw whales and puffin, went halibut and brought home 50 pounds, saw my dear friend from high school, saw his good friend from college, had a stand-off on the road with a momma moose and her baby...made me wonder what I would tell the car rental company if she charged us!

@footprint Good luck Thursday!  Can't wait to hear a good report from you!  Whipping shitties?  Seriously cracks me up...I've never heard that before but I may have to adopt it!

@kefttsc I love that your babies are ninjas!

Vaginal vs. C-Section is on my list for the next visit.  Is it crazy for me to ask those questions about delivery at only 14 weeks (well, 15 then)?

The names have big significance for us.  Charlotte is my grandmother that I have a close relationship with.  Harper is after my favorite author, Harper Lee, who was a friend of my grandfather's and I have always been fascinated with her life.  Despite the popularity of both these days, I've wanted them for YEARS.  Abigail is my sister's middle name and she dropped it when she got married and I'd like to bring it back in the family.
William is DH's dad's name, and he died with DH was 18.  McDaniel is DH's close friend who died in college.

  • Hi!
My 15 wk appt went well, love hearing that little heartbeat on the Doppler!
I look forward to the check-ins, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one worried out here! :)

    EDD/week/fruit: jan 30, 15wks 4days, orange

    Worries:
I know it's too soon for consistency, but I haven't felt any flutters today.... They've been so reassuring that LO is okay in there... I worked today so I haven't had any down time to rest today so hopefully when I'm relaxing later I'll feel some movements
Also, this is not so much of a worry as it is just a feeling, but the last 2 weeks have been a little hard for me, all the happy news with this baby makes me really miss our DD that we lost <3

    Appointments:
None until MFM appt week 19 for anatomy scan!

Milestones/loss dates: my milestone won't be for another 8.5wks and loss date January 9

    QoTW:
That's tricky, childhood vacation is definitely Disney World though!

Up here in the Boston area we call it "bangin' a u-ie" (pronounced you-E) :-)

I was going to say the same thing about whipping shitties lol. My husband calls them popping a u-ie or pulling a bitch lol

  • EDD/Week/Fruit: Week 9, day 1.  Olive!

Worries (rational or irrational) :  Honestly I feel SO much better to have passed week 9.  I am still cramping and occasionally getting brown spotting, but it doesn't worry me as much anymore because I'm used to it and it's in small amounts.  I even got laid for the first time in a month two days ago!

Appointments scheduled: September 4th is my 12 week u/s.  VERY excited to see my baby look more like a person than a blob.  Still a bit nervous that it isn't developing, but I don't think I'll ever be completely free of that.

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates:  I officially passed my previous loss milestone!  So happy and feeling so much less stressed out about being pregnant in general.  From here on out, every new feeling and event won't be compared to horrible traumatic memories.

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best? :   My best vacation experience was going to Italy.  Even the colors seemed more vital and gorgeous there.  All the art, the wonderful people and food, everything was amazing.  I seriously want to go back there some day.

    EDD/Week/Fruit
    4/19/15   4weeks 2 days    poppyseed

Worries (rational or irrational)  Just that I'm going to have a MC, MMC or CP. I've had none of those, but I'm terrified I will lose this baby too.

Appointments scheduled Apt with nurse Sept 18th apt with my OB on Sept 24th (sooo far away!!)

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates Unfortunately, my daughter died when I was 37 weeks. We will be induced at 37 weeks, so there will be no passing of a milestone until that baby is screaming in my arms!  I will be taking this pregnancy step by step...first step, make it to my first appointment.

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best? Hmm. I recently went on vacation with my fam to a house on a lake about two hours from me. It was simple, but wonderful and very relaxing. I've been nowhere really exciting.

Congrats on your positive and welcome to the first tri check-in! I'm sorry that this time, with organs developing, is hard for you? Have you found anything that helps you not be so nervous? Upcoming milestones/Loss dates - not sure where I am so not sure...not close to my loss date yet

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best?    DISNEY WORLD... I love Disney and it was our honeymoon. =)
Welcome!! Congrats on your positive.  I think every one of us on here couldn't believe that we actually got here and were so super nervous that we wouldn't get to stay. Have you gotten any stress relief from the PgAL mantras? I am sorry that you are spotting. That must be really stressful. Here is what I have read about spotting during pregnancy: While it isn't normal to spot, a lot of women do during pregnancy. Fx crossed that your u/s is great and that your doctor appointment goes well.

Hi! My 15 wk appt went well, love hearing that little heartbeat on the Doppler! I look forward to the check-ins, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one worried out here! :) EDD/week/fruit: jan 30, 15wks 4days, orange Worries: I know it's too soon for consistency, but I haven't felt any flutters today.... They've been so reassuring that LO is okay in there... I worked today so I haven't had any down time to rest today so hopefully when I'm relaxing later I'll feel some movements Also, this is not so much of a worry as it is just a feeling, but the last 2 weeks have been a little hard for me, all the happy news with this baby makes me really miss our DD that we lost <3 Appointments: None until MFM appt week 19 for anatomy scan! Milestones/loss dates: my milestone won't be for another 8.5wks and loss date January 9 QoTW: That's tricky, childhood vacation is definitely Disney World though!
How far along were you when first started feeling the flutter? I can't wait for that! I am sorry that you are missing your DD more lately. Have you found anything that makes you feel better? It's so hard that our joy about this baby is tempered by our losses. I wish we had the pure joy of pre-loss back, you know?

Hi ladies, this is my first check-in! Can't wait to get to know you all!  ((Hugs)) to anyone who needs one.

    EDD/Week/Fruit: 4/17/15; 4w4d; Sesame seed?

Worries (rational or irrational): Right now my main fear is that I will m/c. I have PCOS so according to my RE, my chance is about 30% of a loss.

Appointments scheduled: First (and only) ultrasound with my RE is scheduled for 8/26 and as long as everything looks good I'll be released to my OB.

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates: My first baby (Petey Nugget) was supposed to be born this Friday, 8/15.  It has been an enormously difficult week for me, compounded by the (very happy but) conflicting feelings about getting my BFP at the same time as Petey's EDD.

QoTW: My best vacation was a trip I took about 4 years ago with a girlfriend to Amsterdam, Brussels, Bruges, Paris & London. It was amazing. It was the first time I had ever been to Europe and she was a perfect travel buddy. We had so much fun! I wish I could relive those 2 weeks :-)
Welcome to first tri check-in and congrats on your positive!!! I read some of your blog when you introed on the main page. It is really moving! I am sorry that Petey Nugget's EDD is coming up. Have you decided to do anything on the 15th? It seems that some people benefit from doing remembrance type things while others, like myself, just tried to keep busy. Either way, sending T&Ps that you make it through his EDD okay.  The conflicting emotions with EDD and newly pregnant is difficult, too.

    --snip--

I was in Orlando in March. It is an interesting place. How does the entire city not have left turn lanes? I mean, really? Everyone whipping shitties everywhere! It was a crazy place to drive. Crazier than Central America, even.

ETA Whipping shitties is what my husband calls u-turns. IDK if it is common colloquialism, or if it is just him, but after 14 years, I have started saying it too.
Whipping shitties?!  Hahaha! I have NEVER heard that before but I like it!

Up here in the Boston area we call it "bangin' a u-ie" (pronounced you-E) :-)
My son just started speaking and sounds like he has a Boston accent. Love to have a new authentic phrase to teach him! We're trying to get him to say "He parked the car in Harvard yard," I think it may be too much for him right now.

I'm glad you got laid! I got off of pelvic rest last week and I got me some, too. I will be honest, I missed it terribly. Hope you get more soon!  That is an awesome way to think of passing milestones - it hadn't occurred to me that I won't have the negative connotations from here on out. I have never been to Italy, but maybe someday!

  • Hi ladies!

Welcome and congrats on your positive!!! I am sorry that your first appointment is so far away. Simple and relaxing are the only vacations I enjoy anymore! They are the best vacation. I am sorry that you lost your DD. Welcome again to first tri check-in!

  • EDD/Week/Fruit- March 8/10 weeks/date

Worries (rational or irrational) - For the last couple of weeks I've been feeling really sore in my public area and inner thighs. Called the triage nurse and she was of no help. I Have No Idea Why This Is happening. I'm going to take some Tylenol for the first time to see if it goes away. I feel it only when I walk or when I go from sitting to standing. It's not super painful and there's no bleeding. So of course my pgal brain is going crazy

Appointments scheduled- next one is on Aug 28th, my 12 week NT scan. But I'm debating om whether I should make an appt for this Friday afternoon with my OB.

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates: We passed our first milestone a couple of weeks ago, now I'm just hoping to move on to the next trimester!!

QoTW: (Stolen from another check-in) Where did you spend your best vacation ever? What made it the best? My honeymoon to St. Martin. That was also my husband and my's first trip together by ourselves :-)

I am pretty sure I started feeling little flutters starting in week 13, but definitely in wk14

DH, DS and I planted sunflowers for DD this past spring and watching them grow has made me not so sad thinking of her- this past weekend we all went to the cemetery together and brought some of her sunflowers with us and that did help- mainly I just like to cuddle up with DS or DH to feel better.... I just keep hoping that we keep getting good news :)
