Would it be inappropriate for me to ask her if she needs more time? I don't care how long it takes her to pump. But the room is booked in 40 minute increments and she is scheduled before me so I am always left waiting. I had to skip a meeting today so I could pump.

OH. I had the absolute strangest dream last night. @mevaroo and I were road tripping (don't know where). But we were meeting in the town where I work, only I was living in the house I grew up in as a child (12+ hours away). It was a super strange combination of a bunch of different things!

I am stranded alone in my house right now while my car is being fixed. It's like mandatory me time. I've been binge watching Grey's, and randomly making half-hearted attempts at cleaning. I need to vacuum, put away laundry, empty the dishwasher, and dust.

So far I've lined up all W's toys in a neat row, and thrown away one empty water bottle.

I fail at lyfe.

@mevaroo I don't remember that detail. We were travelling with two kids, older aged. (I remember this because we needed to leave the back seat empty-everything had to fit in the back of the vehicle) I don't know if they were our LOs, like in the future, or who the kids belonged to. We were trying to decide on a place to eat before leaving town, though, and we were getting recommendations from my old chiropractor.

WTF Soma? The underwire is poking out of my bra, and it's not that old. Color me upset. If this wasn't my only clean-ish bra at the moment, LO and I would hightail it over to the mall and demand a replacement. (Okay, we wouldn't. But...wtf?)

Feeling bad today. DH and I both have been to the doctor and tested positive for strep. Now it's DD's turn. DH is taking her so I can stay home and rest. He and DD watched the LEGO movie while I was at the doctor. I think I'm going to lay on the couch and watch it until they get back. This is not what i planned to do today

Family vent!

Since March all of my siblings have known I'd be on the East Coast in August and the dates have been firm since May. I've been kinda dreading LO and my ill-behaved nieces being in the same house for almost a week, but also looking forward to the cousins meeting each other. Well I just found out my sister and her girls will only be there for 3 days because they've made arrangements to go see family friends the weekend I arrive. WTH? The friends live a little over an hour away, I'm flying halfway across the country.

Adding to this, my other sister isn't coming at all.

Awesome guys, way to welcome your newest nephew!

I should be relieved because this will be so much simpler and less confusion for LO, but I can't help but feel hurt by it.

End vent, thanks for reading.

@shellbell3845‌ Do you have any moleskin? It's great to put on thin spots or holes along the underwire channel on bras. (It also stays on during washes till you have time to fix it.

I'm fresh out of moleskin, @Flyingtoast‌. (Not 100% sure what that even is.)

I took a page out of @Codypup‌'s book and started organizing my school stuff. My basement is now a huge (organized) mess. DH will flip but I don't care. I'm feeling good about my progress. I'm also a little in awe if how much original material I've created in five years. It's from being in positions where there were no resources at all, and it's an impressive body of work.

We should invent baby toys and bouncers that have several different song cartridge options. While I'm not opposed in theory to our neglectasaucer shouting out the ABC's I'm getting a little sick of it (read going crazy). There is an off switch of course, but maybe we could mix it up a little instead?

I haven't with onesies, but use RIT. It works really well. Just make sure to wash them separately the first time or throw in a color catcher.

Don't use RIT for any baby item. RIT is not a fiber reactive dye. The dye just sits on the fibers and can't be rinsed away. Instead it constantly leeches dye and will fade with time. It's also toxic, which is why it's bad for baby items. All dye is toxic but the fiber reactive dyes (Dylon and tulip) stop leeching dyes so they can be safely worn or chewed on and the fading will be much slower.

Turns out that DD does not have strep or has already recovered enough for the fast test to show up negative. DH and I both are on antibiotics so hopefully we'll feel better tomorrow. We are both so tired. I don't think we have been been sick at the same time ever before.
