@34blondie Aww I love when you look at them and think, "sexy.man". My H has to wear a tie everyday, but I remember a couple months ago he had just shaved in his goatee, had on a new tie, was looking all serious getting ready to leave. I just sort of stared at him like a drooly teenager. That's MY man. The best part that I think we often forget... they look at us the same way
@megsw85 alcohol is always first on my list when camping with both kids. But it is so much fun and the boys sleep awesome outside. It will be great!
@steamboat123 the in law suite is key. My parents stayed for 2 weeks when Arlo was first born. I knew my mom was watching an entire season of the X-Files on her kindle in the basement while I was losing my mind upstairs, but the fact that i couldn't see her being so unhelpful saved me from kicking her out. My dad is super helpful though, so he's great to have around! I also think a place where guests can poop without hosts knowing is important for relationship building.
Hashtags actually work on FB - I thought it was just people "doing the Twitter thing"
"Literally" apparently also means figuratively according to the dictionary. My head "literally" exploded when my brother told me and I looked it up. WTF.
Can anyone help me out? I am trying to update my siggy pictures and I can't figure out how to make them smaller. When I copy the url and paste it, it looks ginormous. I used to be able to just click it and resize it, but that isn't working anymore. I copied and pasted from my FB pictures, maybe that's why?
And if someone could teach me how to do waves with a curling iron that would be great...tried for 20 minutes this morning!!
@WasNotWas - did you get a response to this? I haven't been on this thread in days and just clicked a random number to start, lol. I'm no pro, but I use a 1 inch curling iron and just wrap the hair around the rod. Hold the tip for a few seconds then release. Usually gives nice waves. If you were wondering how to do it with a flat iron, I can't help you. I try and fail regularly.
Graham and Liam are playing superheroes. Liam said, "I'm the green lantern!" And G goes, "I'm Elsa!" I feel a little bad that that G doesn't know any comic characters, but honestly Elsa is probably more bad ass than green lantern anyway, right?
H just called and told me that Lily fell off of her high chair (it's on the floor, not strapped to a chair). She climbed up it after lunch and flipped it over. He said that her mouth bled, so she probably bit into herself. He said other than that, she was fine after a couple minutes. He's a nurse, so I trust him. But, I still have this vision of my baby with jacked up teeth.
@nikel13 when I was 3 I was running and fell face first in my driveway. My front baby teeth all turned gray and fell out. I now have perfect teeth and didn't even need braces I'm sure she's fine!
I applied for a job a month ago (actually, longer than that) and never heard back. It's really close to my house at a big company (which means they likely pay what I make vs other places near me which are quite small). Anywho, they called me a little bit ago and want to do a phone interview so they're calling me back sometime before 4. Damn though, 5+ weeks to schedule a phone interview?
I've been missing all the words because we've been busy. This happened when she fell from walking. No, really, she was just walking and tripped over her own feet:
Swollen foot
Then this happened from 9-1:30 am in the ER:
And then super baby decided she didn't want a cast:
And so she had to get cast #2 this afternoon. Not such a fan:
@numbersgirl08 oh no! That is terrible, but I couldn't help but laugh at the empty cast! Also my baby is so fat the swollen foot pic looks like a normal Arlo foot pic. If you added some sweat it would be exactly the same.
I have trouble sticking to recipes. I just was making buffalo chicken meatballs and I realized the recipe was from a health food website. So I went to the fridge and found a tub of Gorgonzola and some butter. Now all is right with the world.
So, the interview seemed to go fine but it sounds like the manager is a bitch who expects people to come in early and work late. Newp. I'll stay where I am thankyouverymuch lol
How do I get so lucky? DH left this morning for a fishing trip and LO woke up sick. It's going to be a long weekend I can't tell if it sick or molars? :-? @WasNotWas, I foresee breaking my rule and having some red wine tonight.
There's a chick on the WMs board who has a major issue with her 7 month old child playing with a 1 year old. She also has a problem with a 9 year old playing with/attempting to pick up a 1 year old. I called bullshit on all that - what says J13? (her issues are a big part of why she doesn't let her kid stay with his grandparents - because those other kids are around).
@melOHdy there's got to be more but she got pissed at me lol I wrote that I had let my friend's 9 year old take Q to the swings while we were at the splash pad but I could see them and she was like good for you if you're ok letting your 1 year old completely out of your sight with a 9 year old. Mmkay, that's not what I said lol
Only one more hour until both my kiddos are in bed!!! I'm so freaking exhausted after my yard sale today. Huge kudos to all the working mommas out there, I don't know how y'all do it!

Did not read the original post but...
What if she has another child? Will her 3 year old not be allowed to play with her 1 year old? What is the age at which another human could pick up her precious baby? Sounds cray.
This is bloggy but I'm putting it out here any way. My cousin is a Hollywood composer and try as I might, I can't figure out WTF a conductor really does. I get the music writing part and I get the CONCEPT of conducting but I'm watching videos of him at work and damn if I can find a single person who has looked up from their sheet music to pay him any attention. I should just ask him but it's insulting but seriously, I don't get it :-p
Anyone here play in an orchestra? I mean tell it to me straight - do people ever REALLY look up at that guy for direction
@asmallwonder way back in my band days I just remember looking up from my sheet music if I somehow got lost on where we were so I would see my cue of when to start again, other than that I don't really remember ever paying attention to the teacher/conductor
@ASmallWonder when I was in band we paid a lot of attention to the conductor. Oftentimes the tempo of the piece would change and the conductor would keep everyone going the same tempo. Plus, big moments or changes or anything like that. I think they are absolutely vital to any large group music performance. I bet the musicians were playing a lot more attention to the conductor than you noticed.
Not sure if y'all remember a few weeks ago when I posted about the way my sister was planning on spelling her daughters name. Kaydanyze (cadence) for those who don't remember. I'm happy to report that after begging her not to that to her child she has tweaked the spelling and, though it's far from younique, it's better. Now it's Kaidynce.
Wow after re reading what I wrote I realize that I totally use the wrong words, it should say while it's still younique instead of far from younique. I think that's a sign I should get some sleep!

She didn't even trip over anything. Literally her own feet!
And her feet are pretty chubby too, so it was hard to tell it wa swollen! But compared to the other one you could tell.

Aw! Thank you! You guys rock too! That little fun actually put me on the leadership board earlier today. That was kind of cool!!
