My doula has already mentioned it a couple times I should bring treats for the nurses.. Said she will pass them out as new help comes in or leaves since I won't be thinking about it.. She seems to think patients are treated better if you bring gifts. Not sure what I'll bring yet. I already have to deal with labor/getting DD to a sitter/getting to hospital, never mind worrying about what I need to pick up for the nurses on the way!
Wow no, just no. The only reason you get treated poorly is if you're a bitch.
I'm going to send a cookie tray to the OB office after delivery with a thank you note and I'll probably send DH out to get something for our nurses in the hospital. Maybe a cookie tray or possibly a fruit basket.
What?! I had no idea people did this. I was just planning on being gracious and kind to the doctors and nurses and saying a genuine thank you. I'm already slightly freaking out about remembering to bring all the needed things to the hospital. I just know there's no way I'll have time or remember to bake or pick up treats while in labor. I'm giving myself a break on this. It's one time I'll truly have more important things to worry about.
