So my FIL who works overseas is coming to town today for about a month and he and MIL usually stay with us when he comes in. NBD, plenty if space and they're both helpful... But yesterday DH says "are you going to be okay feeding while my dad is here and I looked at MIL and chuckled yeah as long as he doesn't mind boob. And MIL says rolling her eyes " oh he sure loves boobs"... :-/ total silence... WHAT?! Why would you say something like that, now I am completely uncomfortable...
My mom just rocked my world. DS was born on Monday we came home on Wednesday and she went home Friday. Fine no biggie, I have help right now. My almost one year old is 21 lbs and I can't lift anything over 10 lbs. so things are just hard now, and any help I can get is very needed.
Well she calls me this afternoon and says "hey um we are not going to be coming back anymore". I immediately start crying and wondering wtf?!?! She told me she would be here for a least two weeks to help after DS was born. She was here for 2 days. I'm so confused! She told me her mom is sick, very sick (my grandma) and she can't keep neglecting her. I'm like ok, that totally understandable. But still you say, never coming back. I can feel this is not truthful.
I text her later on and said please be honest. She then said two families cannot be under one roof. She said you know what I mean. I'm like no I don't I'm not a mind reader. I don't know, there's obviously some things we need to talk about. This is not like her. She also said she could be here a few days a week when I return to work. I guess that went to shit too? Did I scare her off with all the babies?! Lol! Fml!!!!
@TexasGirl81 I love her as that girl from MAD-TV lol
In other news,
5 of the cleaning girls i've interviewed we liked and offered the job. 5! They all seemed like well rounded, nice, reliable girls who could get the job done. And every single one of them has not shown up for the job without contact and therefore, without reason. This shit has happened 5 fucking times in a row. 5!! Why even come to the interview? This must be some cruel joke.

WTF? Are there no companies that y'all could use where this might not keep happening? That's ridiculous.

That's what we did -_- with two different companies. Since we have a newborn though, it was mandatory for us to do interviews and such. For safety purposes. They showed up for the interviews but, not one of them did for the job. Uhh.....wha? I'm scared to even look again because I don't want my time wasted.

Yuck. My FIL says stuff like that too and thinks he's being witty, but it is so awkward and gross.

What the fuck? Has she given you any more details? This is really concerning.

@jensavicci, what do the companies say about their employees not showing?
Well, with the first company, the 4 girls never showed up at their company's establishment so, my assumption there is that they were fired or had some emergencies? After four times, I gave up caring. Especially when they didn't want to tell me what happened.
As for the most recent experience, the girl never showed up to my house. She was supposed to come, do the job and we were supposed to fill out a form afterwards that told about the experience and our overall satisfaction. After which, we (I and the girl) sign off on it as proof that the job was completed. Well, I had to show the company the blank papers to prove that I wasn't lying about her not showing up. So, they "handled the situation". Still trying to figure this one out as it just happened this week. Hopefully, I'll get a replacement.
. I just think it's odd that it happened 5 times. Maybe I should take this as a sign.....clean my own damn house haha.

@jensavicci - have you tried Home Advisor.com (used to be service magic)? I've gotten a lot of great tradespeople from it, as well as people to clean my house. You put in the type of work you need done, and they send you three recommendations of people to contact. I've gotten our electrician, plumber, gutters, and now two cleaning services from their recommendations. A lot of my neighbors own their own businesses (contracting, landscaping and sewer/excavation specifically), and they had to go through a lot of hoops in order to be approved by the service so that they could get recommended. They all have to have proper insurance, licenses, etc. Then you can put a review after the job is done.
Finally got LO to bed and cant sleep thanks to my shitty neighbors screaming and throwing stuff at the walls. I hate apartments..but a noise disturbance call was just placed, heres to hope for their sake my LO doesnt wake up before the cops go talk to them or else
I have been MIA for a while we are entering day 6 pp. praying for a lot of you after catching up on posts - so glad I have my July14 for sanity. I don't feel alone in the crazy shit that happens/peoplesay/peopledo/ppemotions!!
DH leaves today for a business trip today and won't be back until late Thursday. This is my first time being left alone with DS and DD for multiple days. Hopefully I don't break them.
@ghostof5letters About my mom. No, no details what so ever! I've been beating myself up. I just have had the hugest question mark over my head. I think I should clarify, when I said she said she's never coming back, she meant to babysit. Not like never ever coming back to our house. Still though it's all just weird and confusing. When she left Friday everything was fine. So I thought.
I text my sister about it and she said that my mom simply got overwhelmed. I understand, but like I said it was just odd, she was here for 2 days after DS was born. I totally looking forward to two weeks like she told me.
Well what I need to do now is figure out a game plan. Today I managed with the newborn and Lili. I'm not supposed to lift her but I just had to at some points in the day. I'll get through this. These are our kids and I just need to do it all. (This is what I've been telling myself) thanks for asking! I did really need to get that off of my chest.
@litera I've had a hard time eating as well. I just won't be hungry most of the day and my days seem to go by so fast I don't know where the time goes. I'll look up at the clock and realize it's two hours past a mealtime and I haven't even considered eating anything, yet.
@litera yep, the other day I realized that all I ate that day was a couple cookies and a bowl of cereal. It's been a huge issue and it's definitely taking its toll on my supply. I'm also finding it really difficult to drink as much as I need to.
Does anybody know the suggested amount of fluid intake while breastfeeding? I want to know how far off I am.
Anyone else having appetite issues? I find food tasty, but I have to force it down and not nearly enough to meet calorie requirements.
It was nice at first because I'm almost back to pp shape but I'm concerned I'm losing a lot of energy and its getting slightly worse. It's not healthy and its starting to freak me out. 12 days post partum, bfing 90% of the time, pumping the other 10% at night , chugging water like crazy and battling a UTI. I'm probably only consuming 450 calories a day no matter what I try and I refuse to just eat crap food to get calories.
Anyone in the same-ish boat?
All of this! I know how important it is to eat, ect while your breastfeeding but I seriously struggle to find the time. I'm pumping and between pumping, feedings, trying to nap, keeping the house in order, taking a shower.. there is just no time for food or anything that even remotely interests me to eat.
Total opposite here. I am starving always. I eat anything, unfortunately. But I have been going through five gallons of water every three or four days. My supply seems really good but I have not lost a pound since two days pp. Too much crap food
DH and I got into a huge screaming match tonight. There was so much going on today he just pushed me to my limits, I feel terrible that LO was in the other room and now the tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife.
I am not the "do it all" mom like some of y'all. Today I'm feeling very productive. I have dinner in crockpot, washed the diapers, made myself lunch, made OB appt, made a knee doc appt for my arthritis, and called daycare to confirm Milo's spot. All while he's been eating for 20-30 minute stretches every hour since 8am. I'm spent.
DS was fussing in the bouncy seat. I pulled him out to do some tummy time and he fell straight to sleep. Wondering if our sleeping issues might just be because he wants to be a tummy sleeper. Damn you SIDS. I'm too paranoid to try it.
Mine loves sleeping on his tummy. I have gotten to the point where I let him nap that way on the play mat and just watch him. Otherwise we fight for him to stay asleep and he's more of a nightmare because he gets frustrated sleeping on his back all the time. Yesterday we attempted a nap in the crib on his back and it ended in a 20 minute crying fit.
@litera A+A swaddlers are everything!! I'm obsessed with their sleep sacks as well! I want to go buy more blankets but I might be slightly addicted lol.
@ghostof5letters if you're still in search of bottles on sale my cvs had a bunch of baby items 75% off today including 2 packs of Dr. Brown bottles.
Thank you!

I spilled breastmilk on my laptop and hate The Bump mobile app. My time here will be limited for a few days during the repair.

Little Dude has an affinity for the Medela bottles/nipples when he bottle feeds, which is lovely and all but now I'm stuck with a ton of brand new Advent Natural bottles!
Will people buy these? Craigslist? Only two are in the original packaging.
Thoughts?
Are they from a registry? Could they be retuned/exchanged?
DD is outgrowing her all of NB clothes. Yay for weight gain but nooooo for time passing too quickly.
I had to pack LO's up at the beginning of this week. I was a little sad! The only thing that made it better is thinking that they may get worn again since we will probably start trying again in a year or so.

Yup, my girl is happy on her tummy. During the day, I let her sleep on her tummy and just check on her a lot. She sleeps like a rock, seriously.

We've had luck with it anyway.
Do they do background checks and such? I like the 3 recommendation thing. I'll check it out! Thanks.

Noun
1. Informal. a small lie; fib.
2. Informal. pretentious nonsense
I'm going to work hard to incorporate this into my vocabulary.
