Strong feeling about gender

I just feel like I'm having a girl. It's weird. I can't explain it, but it never really crosses my mind that this baby could be a boy. My husband even says "her." So weird, just wondering if anybody else has this!

I find myself using primarily feminine pronouns when referring to the prawn. But I don't necessarily think it's a grand instinct on my part, I think feminine pronouns just come more naturally to me. I have a 50% chance that I'm right, and if it's a boy I will just change pronouns when we find out.

    Sorry, triple post. Stupid phone.
  • I think it's going to be a boy because if ovulation timing. But the Chinese predictor & my FIL has a feeling it's a girl. I don't care but I do want at least one girl [-O<
  • Last time I had a strong feeling that I was having a boy and I did. This time I don't feel like I'm having a boy or girl.
  • I knew My son was a boy long before they told us...I have a feeling it's a girl but I don't mind either way this time.
  • I thought that DD would be a girl.  Obviously I turned out to be right.

This one?  I don't think I have strong feelings either way yet.  I think it's still too soon.  I'm sorta hoping for a boy, so that could be swaying me.  Early on I swore boy.  Then my Nana told me a few days before she died that, "It's a girl."  Just like that - no hesitation or question in her voice.  So now I'm wondering if she might have been privy to something I'm not?

Guess I'll find out soon enough.  There's 100% chance that one of us is right.

  • We are pretty much preparing for a boy since DH's family fires off males. His sister was the first girl born in 4 generations. So yeah.. lile 80% chance we will have boys.

  • I had this with my last pregnancy about him being a boy, and he was. I was caught up on boy names, I dreamed about him being a boy, and whenever I tried to picture him he was a boy. This go around I am having the same type feelings that this one is a girl. I'm not hoping for a girl or anything (and wasn't hoping for a boy with my last pregnancy either) but I just have a strange feeling. I guess we will see!

  • I don't have a feeling one way or the other. I keep having visions of both. I see dresses and pink and then I see a vision of my baby boy playing with a little brother.

My doctor said around the 3rd week of September(16 Weeks) he will try really hard to let us know the sex if the baby cooperates. I am so impatient though, that sounds like forever away.

Last time we found out around that time after our doctor spent forever during our ultrasound.

  • I feel like it's going to be a girl.  Last time, my mom and I strongly felt like DS was going to be a boy.  I think DH thought DS was a boy too, but I don't think he was too sure about it.  My mom is sure this one's a girl, but DH is sure it's a boy.  We'll see!

  • I have a strong feeling it will be a girl.  Not sure why, but just a feeling.

  • Just sitting here now my intuition says boy. I wont be surprised if it's a boy but if it's a girl I would be surprised... at least that's how I feel right now. I'm not the most reliable source at the moment...

  • I think it's a girl. No reason, just a feeling. My sister calls it a her, too. As long as it's healthy, I really don't care one way or the other.
  • I was right with both my kids, but this time I don't have super strong feelings either way. I'm guessing girl because of the similarities between this pregnancy and my first, but it's pure guesswork. Either way, I'm happy.

  • My husband is the one having strong feelings that it's a girl. Then all the ridiculous sex predictors agreed. Now I'm all excited about having a girl, but scared that I won't feel as excited if it's a boy because of all this girl talk! Obviously I just want a healthy baby, but I do want a daughter to have the kind of relationship I have with my mom. Honestly my bigger worry is that if our first child isn't a girl, I'm gonna end up with four boys from trying for one girl lol.
  • I honestly have no idea.. my last one (miscarriage) I had a strong feeling it was a boy.. I have no idea for this one. :)

  • I've always imagined my first-born would be a boy.  I think it's just an image in my head because I have 2 older brothers, C and 2 brothers, we've seen so many pictures of our donor as a baby boy and it just *feels* like I'm going to have a boy.

I did the Chinese gender chart thing and it says I'm having a girl.  My friends think I'm having a girl because of its heartbeat.

So... I dunno.  Honestly, I'd be happy with either.  Sure, it would be fun to have a daughter to do girly things with.

But at the same time a boy would be fun because I love video games (C hates them) and could imagine having a good time bonding with my son over whatever version of gaming system exists when he's older :) he won't have nothing on his ol' mom!

I would be an awesome mom to a geeky kid in general who loved anime, video games, comic books, and board games.

But again, my gut instinct tells me I'll either have a jock or a cheerleader.  My brothers and I are night and day from my parents.  I have a feeling it'll be that way with my kids.  And so be it.  I'll go to their games and cheer them on even though I hate sports ;)

  • Never had a feeling with my first 2 but my last one I had a weird pregnancy dream at 7 weeks of my late grandma holding a baby girl and telling me she's beautiful. We didn't go run out and buy all pink or anything but we did start referring to the baby as "her" after that and decided at that time if it was a girl to name her after my awesome grandma so that's how she got her name. No feelings leaning me one way or the other this time.

  • My brother, mom and SIL are all convinced we're having a girl, which makes me think we're having a boy.  I'm contradictory like that.

  • My first longish PG I had dreams it was a boy and just KNEW it was a boy. My second longish PG I had dreams it was a girl and just KNEW it was a girl. This time around I am having no sex/gender dreams at all, and also have no strong feeling yet toward the sex. It's weird not having a sixth sense with this one. Hopefully that is a good sign, since none of the other PGs went to term!

  • At this point both sides of the family (who know) are teasing me that I'm having twins. It runs in both families and my fiancé and are a both the last ones to have kids on both sides. Needless to say I hope they're wrong with our wild two year old boy running around I don't think I'd have any hair left on my head. I won't complain if it is but wow I'd be in for quite an adventure. As for gender, I've compared the eating habits of this pregnancy and the last one with my son and in the beginning all I wanted was sour candy and nothing was sour enough but now all I can eat is sweets so I'm not sure if that's leading towards girl? I'm secretly hoping for another boy as I've always dreamed of having three boys but I do have the perfect name already picked for a girl. Anyways I'll be asking the doc for a gender reveal as soon as possible!!
  • I don't know that I have a strong feeling one way or the other, but the only name that has come up that both my husband and I love, and are dead set on, is a girls name. So... either we'll have a girl, or a boy who is all to familiar with Johnny Cash's "A boy named Sue"

  • Hubby has a strong feeling about the sex -- he thinks it's a girl.
I don't know. I have a mild sense that it could be a boy, but it implanted *so* quickly I've done all this BS calculating and decided it has to be a girl. So basically, I don't know.

    image
I always joke with my mom about this.  She thought she was having a boy the whole time she was pregnant with me and I remind her constantly that she was right.  Then she joking whines that all she wanted was a little girl she could put in dresses and have tea parties with.  I kept telling her as a kid to have another one because that was never going to be me.

  • I have been referring to this baby as "he" or "him" whenever I talk about it.  However, that could just be my husband's hopes rubbing off on me.  With my DD, I knew it was a girl.  I hope I'm right again :)

Both my husband and I think we're having a girl. Maybe it's because we are both are secretly wishing for a boy... Of course, we'll be happy either way! 90% of the people in my family have a boy first and then a girl.
  • With DD, I had a feeling it was a girl, but this time, I'm feeling boy.

  • My husband really wants a girl, yet he keeps accidentally referring to the baby with male pronouns. Additionally, every dream I have is of a baby boy. So I'll be thrilled to get a girl, but will not be surprised at all if it's a boy- and my dreams are definitely getting me excited about the idea of a boy.

  • With our boys I had dreams they were girls. Chinese calendar said they'd be girls. My first I had no real feeling. Our second deep down I knew was a boy. This time I dreamt baby was a boy (and was devastated...I pray I don't feel that way) and the calendar says boy. So if my pattern of opposites continues this one should be a girl. I want to say my gut thinks girl but I have a feeling that it's just my longing for a girl.
  • At first i felt strongly that I'm going to have a girl and i really want a girl. I even joked that i would put the baby back in me if it's a boy but the more i think of having a mini version of my boyfriend the more I'm wanting a boy. Either way i already love my baby more than the air i breathe ♡

  • We have being saying she a lot. My husband worked on radar for 18 years and supposedly it tends to weaken the boy sperm. I don't understand how that would happen, but all of his coworkers who had been working there more than 5 years or so had girls...so that's something. I guess we will find out if the theory holds true at the ultrasound.
