  • How old is he @PipSqueak0313‌? L has probably gained like 10 lbs in the past 2 years. She wasn't 20 lbs yet when she turned 1, and she's under 30 now.

Ds2 will be 17 months in a week.....he was around 14-15 pounds at 12 months. I know it's not really a bad thing.....I was wearing size 6x when I was 12 years old so he does get it honestly. It just seems wrong when I read about all these 15-20 pound 4-6 month olds on the cd sites.
J was one of those 20 pound 6 month olds. But he has only gained like 2 pounds since then. Heredity has to take over at some point.

Totally this. DS was in the 90-95% for weight at one point just because he gained so quickly. But his percentiles have slowly dropped, so he's down to 25% in weight, and 10% for height. Which seems pretty appropriate since DH and I are both on the smaller side.

So I'm planning ahead to buy a convertible carseat (and today got a 20% off code for a combi, if anyone wants the code).

I know the Combi Coccoro is well-rated (Lucie's list and CSFTL), but with a 33 lb max for rear-facing and 40 lb max for forward-facing.

Is there a point to getting it?  It's supposed to be good in small cars, and our infant carseat is a tightish fit currently.

The weight limit makes me nervous, but we are planning on another babe, so I wonder if we'll need to get another (bigger) one eventually ANYWAY.

Although maybe it is just my desire to use a good coupon taking over.
It's more of a seat designed for small squish type babies. It's meant more for the people that choose not to do a bucket first. If you want RF any length of time look away. Try looking at seats like the Chicco Nextfit, Graco 4ever, or a Diono Radian/pacifica if your looking for slim seats. Those ones I really really recommend.

  • I really want to "accidentally" give birth in the tub at the hospital. "Oh, oops!"

What are the going to do? Kick me out of the hospital?

If it helps, I love my two Diono car seats. So much so I may buy a third for my toddler in my car. The RXT won't fit rear facing in my Mazda 3 without making the pass anger side unusable. We tried.

This was my plan too, but I hardly made it to the hospital since I stayed home (in my own tub) so long. I say go for it.

The thing with the Radian is with the angle adjuster it is very slim. However, if your car has flat seats it does affect the angle of the adjuster and it cannot get as slim as it would on a regular more bucket type bench. I do believe the Mazda 3 does have flatter seats. So that could be why.
