Nursery/baby stuff theme

Hey ladies, I was wondering if you guys have a certain "theme" you are incorporating for all your baby gear, nursery, etc. Are you doing a certain color scheme? Certain animal? Movie themed, like disney?

Randomness is also a great theme :)

I don't know why, but with my little one I have had a sudden obsession with owls, so alot of things have been owl themed. Though I have had to stop my MIL and mom from buying some owl things because some companies seem to go out of their way to make them look creepy. (Scary owl watches you sleep)

Re: Nursery/baby stuff theme

  • The owls thing is sooooo cute! but i mostly only found cute girl owl stuff. the boy owl stuff was creepy I think. Like the scary owls watching over the baby.

We decided to go with a jungle theme (giraffes, monkeys, elephants...) I don't know why but i was just drawn to it. =)  Im starting to have paranoid dreams that it's not done yet though!

  • We seem to be buying a lot of things with giraffes on them. It just kind of happened! I never had a theme in mind. Our colors are green and neutral tans/browns.

  • We don't really have a theme...more just colors: grey, navy, light blue, and white. We got all of our "larger" gear (nursery furniture, swing, stroller, etc) in neutral colors so we could use it for a girl if we hvae one later on.

  • We didn't "theme" it but the walls and furniture are white/gray, and the decor is bright primary/rainbow colors - red, yellow, green, blue. I'm sure I'll AW some photos once we get it all together, but we are so so far from even slightly done right now...

  • I have a baby deer theme, green and brown colors. The walls definitely don't match they are maroon with a tan accent wall we just didn't want to paint lol.
  • Mickey Mouse theme
  • Our theme is under the sea with mostly whales!
  • Mostly just Gray and yellow. Some you are my sunshine accents. My mom is trying to change it to jungle theme... And it's about to be a battle.

  • We didn't plan a theme of any sort but once we got our bedding set, we started to stick to a color theme. All furniture are white and all decors/accents are shades of pinks and browns.

  • We went with a color theme-kind of like a Tiffany blue colored wall and then coral, yellow, and turquoise accent walls.

  • We've painted the walls turquoise with white trim, since DD1's room is pink and white and I wanted something a little different. I've ordered sheets that have ponies on them to match, so I guess that's kind of the theme.

  • We don't have a theme but we don't have a nursery yet. I want to do hot air balloons/Babar when we do the nursery, but nothing overly theme-y. Our gear is a totally random assortment of gender neutral designs.

  • It's an ocean monkey theme. Our bedding has a cute surfing monkey with other surfing ocean animals. A lot of what I've been buying is ocean themed or jungle theme.

  • Our nursery theme is a set called Heaven Sent. It is soft pink and cream, and has lambs and some Bible/Christian quotes on it. (Wonderfully Made, The Lord is my shepherd, I am a gift from God). Our other gear doesn't have a theme; the car seat matches my car interior, the pack n play is hot pink with crowns, the swing and walker are Disney princess themed (I wanted neutral so I could reuse them for baby #2, but my sister got a little over excited that it's a girl), and my stroller is just a jeep stroller. My MIL is obsessed with doing everything Minnie Mouse, but I am so sick of Minnie Mouse by now. (after 27 Minnie outfits and every Minnie toy that exists, that can happen)
  • Our nursery is tan and pink, and our theme is jungle animals.

  • W found a ton of monkey stuff for girls, so we are going with a girly monkey theme :)

  • We've got some vintage robot action going on for our little guy, just a few nursery decorations though. Clothes are almost all hand me downs from friends & gear is all neutral from his sister.

We went with a nautical theme for both the nursery and bathroom items (actually a lot if his clothes are nautical or fox themed lol). The colors are navy, white, red, and slate.

Our nursery walls are staying the same color that they were when we moved in since we really can't change them (kind of an off white color). We have a modern Disney theme going and have a mix of Monsters Inc, Lion King, and Finding Nemo nursery bedding and then we are also getting Lion King wall hangings and stuff. It's kind of random, but we love it and it works for us.

  • Our theme has been butterflies we have lilac colored walls with one dark purple wall it's coming together quite nicely :)
  • Ours is gray walls, navy, and white. It's very nautical, but not on purpose. It kind of just ended up that way. Ill post a picture later. We aren't finished, as we just received a giant vintage school wold map that I want to hang up.
  • DD1 - her room is a teal with coral and white accents.... They have a jack and Jill bathroom connecting the rooms so DD2 - her room is the same teal but with white and pink accents..

We went with an animal carnival theme since there's so much decorations we could get and they look so fun!  Recently got a couple pillow/blanket 2 in 1 set from Amazon too!  Cute decoration and LO will be able to use the cuddly blankie at some point too.

A friend of mines mom works at a school that was getting rid of all of their old maps bc they have those fancy smart boards now.
  • We have aqua walls and the crib skirt and changing pad are yellow/white chevron. I have some giraffe sheets. Annnnnnnd that's it.  Keep thinking I'm doing a giraffe theme, but have purchased nothing. I need to spend some quality time on Etsy, and soon. I've just been so lackadaisical with this nursery for some reason. With DS I was all over it! Poor second baby....

  • Ok so here we are so far in the nursery. Everything big is done, but we have a few things that need to be hung up on the walls. ***for the record: the babies won't be in their crib for a few months, so the bumper is just for decoration. It will come out before they sleep in it. The set was gifted to us with the bumper.*** the walls are sherwin Williams light French gray, although they look tan in my crappy iPhone pics.
  • The walls are purple and we are doing an owl theme.

    God's timing is perfect!

  • It started off with no theme, but I fell in love with an elephant print fabric that we used for the curtains and crib skirt. The walls are minty green, furniture is white, and we will be adding pops of gray, yellow and orange since we are TG.
  • Green walls and monkey/jungle themed...my DH is obsessed with monkeys!

It's been a while since I've posted on here.  (Where in the world did this pregnancy time go?)
But I had to share since there was a thread about it.

We decided on an earth to space theme.. some of it may seem a little old for our boy now, but its something he can grow into.  DH is hoping it will help him to explore things.  But we found a ceiling fan with rockets and the earth as the light source.  From there we added a few things like a moon wall night light, creamy curtains that kind of resemble clouds, a fluffy green rug that is kind of like grass, along with planets and glow in the dark stars on the ceiling(not above his crib). Then we went to DC and while I was working, DH went to the Air and Space museum.  He found an astronaut bear that is just too perfect.

At my baby shower the other day, my MIL brought the quilt she made.. I just have to share.  It is truly perfection!  She put such thought and creativity into this that DH actually teared up when he saw it!   She re-created the Air and Space museum bear on the quilt with lots of planets and stars.  Its actually too big to use in the crib, so it will be for his toddler bed later on.
