The what-we-did stuff: This was my third medicated IUI (third time I'd ever ovulated). It was our first cycle with injects. We did Follistim, Ovidrel, an IUI, and endometrin. I only had one follicle and I was not feeling hopeful at all.
So, wow. My beta was scheduled for yesterday and I was irritated at the inconvenience of having to go in even though I knew I wasn't pregnant because my test was negative on Wednesday. Imagine my surprise when my nurse called me in the afternoon and told me the results were positive! I was completely shocked. I had already been mentally preparing to take a couple of months off before starting IVF. Of course, after I got off the phone I immediately peed on a FRER because I assumed the nurse was just fucking with me. Needless to say that second line popped up immediately!
Funny story though... I had my husband read the home test on Wednesday because I was too nervous to look. He told me it was negative, gave me a hug, and went off to work. After we got the positive results on Friday, I was giving him shit about not being able to read pregnancy tests. He was like, "no! It was negative! It looked nothing like this!" He felt compelled to dig it out of the bottom of the garbage can (yuck) and what do you know, there was a pretty obvious line on that one too. Husband fail!
The how-I-told-him stuff: I had completely given up on the idea of surprising him because he was reading the tests and was totally tuned into everything since we started medicated cycles. When I unexpectedly found out while he was at work, I decided to plan a little surprise. I wrapped up the onesie (that I bought almost a year ago) and pee stick in the picture below. I put it in a shipping envelope with a printed address label to my husband and put it in the mailbox because the first thing he does when he gets home is checks the mail. Considering the "negative" test from earlier in the week, he was completely shocked. We sat there is disbelief for a while, and then cried some and hugged. He made me pee on two more tests. ;-)
I love you guys so much. I knew nothing about getting pregnant or going through treatment before I came here. It's been a tough year, and there were times when you guys were some of the only people I could talk to, and for that, I appreciate you completely.
My beta was 64 at 14dpiui, which might be a little low, so I'm feeling pretty cautious still. I'd appreciate any crossed fingers and happy though. My next beta is on Wednesday.

Slowly rising betas - Ectopic suspected on 8/8/14 & confirmed on 8/11/14
Methotrexate on 8/12/14 -HCG negative on 9/2/14
IVF #1- November- Antagonist protocol: 11/1: start stims, 200iu of Follistim; 11/12 ER 17R/14M/14F; 11/17 5 day transfer of two blasts, 2 blasts and 2 expanding morulas frozen; 11/22 BFP!! (On FRER at 5dp5dt)
Betas: 9dp5dt 205, 11dp5dt 497, 14dp5dt 1,709
u/s at 5w0d- 1 sac; u/s at 6w0d 1 baby with heartbeat, another sac without a heartbeat
