My random for today is that DH and my mother are totally being debby downers about LOs 1st birthday. I asked DH the other day what we should do for their birthday and he was like "what? nothing. They don't know its their birthday. We can get a cake or something" I don't even want anything fancy, just a homemade cake and some grillin'. I thought it would be nice to invite some of the women I met at this playgroup I started going to but every time I bring it up he gives me this look like he's really suffering at the thought of it.

So I thought maybe my mom would be excited about it and she gave me a look and said "Don't you think you already have too much on your plate to plan a party?"

So now I'm kind of bummed out. I'm going to plan something anyways but it kind of sucked the excitement out of it for me that everyone seems put out by the idea.

Holy crap, guise! I had to interact face to face with a RL person! I couldn't even use gifs!

I have lots. Feel free to pick and choose.

1. We bed-shared while in CA so the other hotel guests could get sleep. Apparently, being that close to a food source makes him eat like a newborn. Yay to leaky boobs again.
2. I resigned half my job. Saw the posting last night and the hours being posted are the ones I need.
3. I hate teething. We are on #6 this week.
4. We had a great time at Disneyland. Even took him on Haunted a Mansion since after the first ride he tried, nothing seemed to phase him.
5. My Aunt was diagnosed as terminal with pancreatic cancer. She told the Dr. She never even felt the pain. She is my closest aunt, as my mom's sister, and I am struggling with processing it. Her only child just turned 18 and is struggling and still really needs his mama. It just all makes me hurt.
6. I miss my family back home, especially now.
7. I want to join the FB group just so between here and there, I can keep up with all of you that have come to mean so much.
8. I am planning his first birthday already! Yeah...it will be Disney, but hey no princesses!

I've spent the entire time I've been reading the random thread playing out how @ElleStaxx's meeting is going to go. All of my story lines have been very entertaining. Seriously though, I want to slap someone for you! That is so not acceptable. This is why I fear day care and can't fathom putting LO in one that didn't have a system to watch them from afar.

Last night I changed LO's diaper and let him play. About 15 minutes later he crawled to his diaper bag, pulled out the wipe case and diaper and crawled over to me. Sure enough he had pooped. I'm sure it was coincidental but it was still funny!

I want to leave work early to go fetch LO from daycare. By the time I pick him up every night, I get to play with him for about 2 hours, tops -- most of which is in sleepy/crying/borderline-meltdown mode and it sucks.

He came home yesterday smelling like the teacher and it gave me the sads.

My random, DS1 has been whining and miserable all day today. Turns out he has a fever of 102. Craptastic. Not only do I feel bad for him but his 3rd bday party is on Saturday. I really hope this is a 24 hour thing!

FWIW, my answer was going to be 3: one for each twin, then a mommies only party for @ballygirl.

Pancreatic cancer is brutal and your aunts experience is really common, unfortunately. You can go to PanCan.org for resources, info about clinical trials, etc. If she is in California or Oregon I can recommend the best doctors there. Thoughts and prayers to you all.

I had my apt w the OB today and I am 6wks 3days pregnant

I like her she is so easy going but I didn't like that she said that I should probably wean DD

within the next month or so.

(Her explanation was that since the uterus contracts while BFing and IF there happened to be miscarriage she wouldn't want me to think it was due to BFing)

I also mentioned to her that today was the 1st day I felt nausea and DD happened to get the runs.

I feel like I need to give her a call and ask her if she feels I am at risk ( 39 and had a miscarriage) I don't know if I want to wean her just yet.

I think it's a valid concern. My OB warned me about the same thing if I should get pregnant while BFing.. (30, 1 prior mc). But I believe @jennlin Bf through her whole pregnancy and had no problem except a decreased milk supply.

Ultimately it's up to you to weigh the risks vs benefits and decide what is best for your family.

I feel like my supply is a little low these last few days ... I have given BFing my all but I may throw in the towel next month .. She's almost 10 months anyway.

@vargasgurl‌ I bf ds1 through my entire pregnancy with LO; well he self weaned 4 weeks prior to LO being born. One if the drs in my practice told me I needed to wean him by the end if my 1st trimester because it causes contractions. I was panicked for a few days but started doing some searches online and most everything I found said it's fine to continue as long as it's not a high risk pregnancy. At my next appt I asked another dr at the practice and she said don't stop, it's perfectly safe for me to nurse him the entire time, so I did.
I do have to warn you tho, my milk supply dropped and the nipple tenseness can be pretty bad at times. Overall though I had no problems and would do it all over. Obviously just make the choice you are happy with!!!
(Sorry that was a long rambling mess)

Edit- forgot to say congrats to you!!! This is so exciting, more babies!!
