First time mom here! Everything is crazy exciting but I want my bump!! Lol. I know body type has a lot to do with it. I'm 14weeks, 5,3" and have a short torso, I was 122lbs to begin with. Now I'm 126 & showing I think. I also think I show more at night than when I wake up. Hmm... Bloated much, haha. Yay! Bloat! I'm just curious, when did you show with your first? Excites!! \:D/

  • I started showing with my first around 18 weeks. I am 5'5 and a size 2 with a short torso. I already look 20 weeks pregnant with this one :(

  • I just started to reach the fat or pregnant stage around 16 weeks.  It's not a real bump yet, but it's getting there.

  • I was 117 when I got pregnant withy first at 5'2 and got a little bump around 14 weeks.
This time around I started at 125 and am 13 weeks- still not even close to a bump. They say you show sooner with your subsequent pregnancies but it hasn't happened to me. Maybe because I was bigger this time to start?
  • FTM at 5'1" and started off at 141 lbs. I really popped around 14w.

  • I'm a shorty, and a FTM and not realllllly showing. I feel like I've gained weight more-so all over, and it just looks like I've gained weight in my stomach minus a baby bump.

  • I think I've popped a little. I'm 5'8" and was 170 when I got pregnant so I have a little extra jiggle when I walk. I lost some weight my first trimester but now the chunk in my midsection is a little more pronounced (almost 14 weeks). My husband calls it a bump so I'm going with it lol

  • I'm tallish (5'7", 115) and at 14 weeks I'm not showing yet. Without a shirt on, I can definitely see a difference but I don't look pregnant. Just different.

  • With my first, I was barely showing at 7 months. You could only tell if I was wearing something really fitted. The first time a stranger acknowledged my pregnancy was at 38 weeks. I went sideways rather than out. It also helps that I'm 5'8". This time around, I've got nothing yet.

  • I'm 5'9" and started at 118 pounds, I've gained about 8 pounds so far and just yesterday at 14 weeks it started to turn into bump. Several people in my husband's family commented that I was starting to look pregnant :) I think it is just easily noticeable because I was so thin before.
  • I didn't start showing with my first until around month 7. I lost a lot of weight because of HG and I grew very slowly. I gained a total of 22lbs.

I'm the minority, I hate the bump (due to anorexia-brain, but rest assured, I haven't suffered from anorexia for over a decade, just the thoughts remain).

Hello, beautiful you! I too suffered for 12 yrs similarly like you. I know this isn't the forum for this & you're recovered but I want you to know I have found ways to change my thinking. They say you while may recover you will always live with the battle zone in your head. I used to feel that way for ever and don't anymore because of certain ways I've learned to manage my thoughts. PM me (can you do that here?) or email me it's my screen name @ gmail if you're interested. Love and light, sister.

    Thanks everyone for your replies!!!!

  • I'm 5'6" and 14 weeks...no real bump yet and I've only gained 0.5 lbs but my regular jeans and pants are too tight now so some bump is happening.
  • I'm 5'8 and have a long torso. I didn't show with my first till 20 weeks I think. I am 15 weeks and definitely am showing now- even strangers talk to me about it (only women).
  • I thought I started showing at around 18 weeks last time, but looking back at my sporadic "bump" photos I have to laugh. I wasn't showing.

I am in the fat or pregnant stage right now, but I bet I will show sooner with this one. I already look different than last time.

  • 5'5" 125 with first and starting showing at 20 weeks. I started this pregnancy at 123 and looked the same as I did at 20 weeks starting around 2 weeks ago but today it's gone. I'm sure I'll start showing again around 20 weeks or so.

I'm a FTM, 5'2'' and 116 before pregnancy. I'm up to 118 now at 16 weeks (tomorrow). I started to show a little around 14 weeks and now it's definitely there! Doesn't really show unless I wear form-fitting clothes though.

With DD, I went into pregnancy at a size 14. I thought I was showing at 16 weeks, but it was probably more like 20 weeks before it was obvious to complete strangers.

Now, with #2, I am convinced I am showing now at 13 weeks (they say you show sooner with #2, right?) but it may be a few more weeks before it is really obvious to those who don't know me.

    Thought I was showing here...

Probably wasn't really showing until here-ish?

  • With DD, I didn't show until around week 23 of pregnancy.  I started out at 120 lbs and am 5' 7".  I didn't show enough to be asked by a stranger if I was pregnant until I was into my 8th month of pregnancy with DD.

  • With DD I started showing around 5-6 months. I'm short so baby had nowhere to go but out. I started showing with this pregnancy at 14 weeks, I look so pregnant already!
  • 5'10", 130 lbs, started showing around 5-6 months
  • With DD... I was around 17 weeks.
  • FTM I'm 5'2 before pregnancy 95 pounds(then lost 15 pounds from morning sickness) I pretty much looked dead . Gained 7 pounds. So I started showing when I was 15 weeks. 16+3 now :)
  • I'm 5'8'' and 133 pre-pregnancy. I've only gained 3lbs, but as of this weekend (15.5 weeks), I officially look pregnant when wearing a tight fitted shirt. I haven't been able to wear my regular jeans for several weeks. FTM expecting twins.

  • Ftm was 141 before bum in oven. I have gained 8 pounds so far. (Have to eat every hour or I get super sick) 13 weeks and a bump is there. All of my pants cannot fit me, so I am squeezing into my fat pants now.
  • With my first, I started at 5'6, 125, "athletic build", and didn't show till nearly 7 months and then it really came out. Ended at 162. This one I started around 125 again, but have had a noticeable bump since about 12 weeks? Also gaining weight quicker with this one, much to my dismay.
  • I am a FTM and short also - 5'1" and my beginning weight was 100 lbs.  I currently have gained 6 lbs at 16 weeks but a lot of it has gone to my chest.  I went from a 34 D to a 34 DD (I tried doing the 36 D, but I felt like I was close to having my nipple pop out of the bra). I am not showing yet, I just look a little "thick" according to my husband.

  • With my first I was 5'11" 165lbs and about 18 weeks before I could see the slight baby bump.
  • I was 5'6" 160 pounds when I got pregnant with my first (my body shape is smaller waist with bigger lower half and torso is medium to longer), I started getting a TINY bump around 16 weeks, but didn't have what I'd call a real noticeable bump until between 18-20 weeks.

This time around at 16 weeks, I look like I did at 20 weeks the first time.  Ha

I'm 5'2",12w3d with my first and I asked my husband if I looked pregnant yesterday and he said yes. If I wear regular clothes, I think I just look pudgy, but in maternity clothes, I look pregnant. I think it has to do with the waistband. There's also definitely a lot of bloat contributing to the area!

If I look at how my sisters carried, I'm pretty sure I'll look more pregnant than I actually am from here until baby arrives. I'm not concerned as long as baby and I are both healthy.
  • I'm 5'4 and started at 127 lbs. I have officially put on 1-2 lbs but it feels and looks like more! My body has changed. Less lean and more soft :( I was sick for the first 13.5 weeks. So I ate often to keep the nausea away and only wanted white carbs :(

Now at 14.5 weeks I feel more pregnant than fat. The "carb baby" or bloat doesn't go away in the morning anymore. But don't think the bump has really set in yet.

  • @turtlemobile2 Thank goodness for your post! I was thinking that I was the only bigger one here...not so great for my self-esteem.

Prepregnancy, I was about 175, 5'3". I've gained about 9 pounds, although the doctor's scales always show me higher (I always weigh myself first thing in the morning when I'm not really wearing much, so clothes, food, and fluid make a big difference). I still fit into my jeans, but I have to do the hairband trick. Trying to not freak out about gaining weight is hard, since I've struggled with weight and body image since I was 12 or so.

I have a small bump around my pelvic area. I can tell it's baby because it's harder than my belly, and it's actually protruding a bit more than the area above it. Looking forward to the baby moving up and the bump getting bigger so that I don't just look fat...

  • I am 5' 2 and a reasonable 60kg at 16w 3d pregnant. Unfortunately, I carry my weight in all the wrong places.

I don't know if she's saying it to keep the raging hormones at bay (lol) but my partner says she can tell.  Some days I'm inclined to believe her - others, I look in the mirror and think  'just a salad tonight then!'

  • FTM and 16+3 today. I'm definitely starting to pop out. I swear since about Friday it's been getting bigger everyday. And it never goes away so not really bloat.

I'm with you girls! Prepregnancy at 5'3 I was 165. I've gained ~4lbs but I feel like I look like a whale and more like 30weeks preggo at 13w2d. I know it isn't baby and start to feel really insecure. I couldn't wait to get pregnant because I wanted to be that adorable pregnant lady but I just don't think that's in the cards for me.

  • I am 5'10" weighed 140 prior to becoming pregnant. I have an extremely athletic build and had a six pack. :( no bump but plenty of bloat. So far have gained 2.5 pounds and am 14w5d. I am not liking g this fat looking stage EMERGE BUMP!! So people know I am pregnant not fat!!
  • I'm 14w at an even 6' and about 139 pounds when I started out and I don't have anything yet. I think I look different, but no one else can tell.
  • FTM, I feel like I've sprouted quicker than what most are saying. I had a noticeable bump at 12 weeks (but it wasn't always apparent in more loosely fitting clothes). Now, at almost 16 weeks it is obvious all the time. The funny thing is, my body has changed so much I 'feel' HUGE! I have had 2 prior losses so I don't know if that has any bearing with the whole 'bigger quicker 2nd time around' or not, but I wouldn't really think so..

  • FTM, I'm 5'8" and was 180 pre-pregnancy. I lost 12lbs due to morning sickness. I'm now at 172 and can't really tell if I have a bump or if it's just residual jiggle in the middle lol. I'm 15 weeks and some of my shorts are a little snug. My husband insists that I have a bump because my belly is firmer than usual but I'm still not 100% convinced. My parents are coming into town tomorrow so we shall see what they say. :)  I'm definitely ready to embrace looking pregnant! I can't wait to fully show! I'm sure I'll regret those words around 8 or 9 months but for now, bring it on!
