What's your max?

Age that you'd want to be pregnant/have a baby? How about dh? Asking because everyday people ask me 'so when are you going to try for the girl?' Annoying question and I never really give people an answer, but it does make me think about if we would (not specifically a girl, I lurve my boys!) when it would be. I'd love to wait until ds1&2 were in school,which would make me 33 and dh 40. Doesn't sound so bad except when I realize dh would be 58 when potential baby 4 graduated high school!? That seems old considering my mom is 57 now. But I guess he's going to be kind of 'old'as it is when Ben graduates so what's a few more years lol

Honestly, 30. But only because (at 24) I'm considered a young mom and I really don't want my kids to be really spread out. Although we're considering being 1 and done.

The more I think about it, I'm done at 26. The thought of my youngest graduating high school when I'm 43 and DH is 48 seems glorious. IF we decided to try just once more, i would want to do it before 28. So the chances are slim to none.

DH and I have been talking about this recently. I'm 37 and H is 35. If we have a second it will need to be soonish. We may start trying as early as Nov or Dec.

I'm 24 and I would like to be done by 30-32. We want 3 more so that gives us 6-8yrs.. We will see what happens.

This. I work in pedi neuro and I think seeing some of the kiddos has scared me too much to try past 35. I have no judgment against anyone who does, but I'd be too worried.

Personally 35. DH is 4 years older so would make him 39. I'm almost 30 now but wanted to wait until I finished my doctorate which was last august.

I just had my last baby at 31. I was originally hoping to be done by 30 but it didn't work that way for us.

Omg... I feel OLD now. I'd like to be done by 40 but considering I am 37 now and just had my first I'm not sure that will happen.
It took us almost two years to conceive DS. DH wants to start TTC in sept but I'm not sure if I'm ready yet. I want to spend some more time with just DS but also don't want to miss an opportunity for more.
For the record... Even with my AMA I had no issues at all and wasn't at all worried about my age causing any difficulties. And even though my OB had mentioned that it was considered a high risk pregnancy I didn't feel as if I was being treated any differently.

I would like to be done by 30 or 31. I will be 25 next month and we want at least one more, maybe even 2.

I'll be 32 this year, and if we don't have another within 2 year we will be done, mainly because I want to put pregnancy behind me, not so much because of age.

It's so strange for me to see so many saying they are done at <=30! The vast majority of my friends haven't even started yet, and I think maybe two had their first at 29.

Some of my friends are having kids now, but I was the first married and first baby out of all my and DH's friends at 22 and 27 for DH. I'll be curious to see if I change my mind when my other friends settle down and start a family in the next 3-5 years. Maybe I'll get the baby fever and want another then?

We are done but had our twins when we were both 34 and now this LO when we were both 38. Gotta love years of infertility!

Hopefully by 36 for both of us. Just because we want 3 total and would love for them to be close together in age.

This is the case for me as well. I turned 32 a month after LO was born, and most of my friends either have kids under 3 or not at all yet.

Initially, I wanted to be done at 25. And I was! For 8 years. Then we decided we wanted more kids, and the kids wanted more kids! Took about 3 years, but I was 36 when this LO came along.

Hoping to have at least one more, but we have decided to not try/not prevent until it's no longer possible to have children.

(Another geriatric patient off to bed. ..)

Hoping by 35 for me. Dh will be 43 by then. We have 8 years to have 3 (hopefully) more kiddos. Going to start trying for #2 in a few months if all goes as planned. I want two sets of 2u2, but a few years apart.

Im a young mom as well. So I would say 30 and DH would be 33. I had DS at 19 and LO at 24, so if I waited until I was 30 my kids would be further apart then I would like.

I'd say 35 is my preferred max, but I'm hoping to be done by 32 if I can. We want 1-2 more & we're both 27. I'm hoping for a 2-3 year gap between LOs.

Sometimes it is more than "life and careers getting in the way"; sometimes people decide later in life that they actually want children. And, I'm sorry, but what does "everyone understands" even mean in this context? There's nothing for anyone to understand or for anyone to judge about a couple (or a singleton) deciding that they want to have children later in life. Not everyone makes that decision at a young age, or even as a 20-something.

I would like to be done by the time I'm 30. I'm almost 24 now and we'll probably wait a few years before we try again. Only planning on one more though so if it all goes as planned I'll be done by the time I'm 27.

I was 38 and DH was 37 when G was born. He is our second and last baby.

ETA - DH and I were NOT ready to be parents in our 20s. I'm so glad we waited, even though I was of advanced maternal age.

DH and I decided to wait until we were 30 to have a 2nd child. I was 16 when DD1 was born and that's how we knew we weren't ready to have anymore kids until later. I'd like to have one more by the time I'm 33 so that they're not spaced out too far apart.

Always said we'd like to be done 30, and we may well be done now, but if we have a third it'll probably be past 30. Having kids, especially since having 2 has made me more "go with the flow" which is a refreshing change from my pretty type A personality.

This is LO our second and last baby we were 23/25 for DD1 and 29/3 for DD2. If it were not for the financial reasons for being done I would say probably 35 would be my max age.

I've always said I wanted to be done before 30, but it just depends on how many kids we decide to have (3 max). I turned 26 two weeks after this LO was born and we may start trying again next summer. We'll see.

I turned 31 a few weeks after this LO was born and we are done. We were on the fence about having a 3rd when LO surprised us anyways, so we are for sure done now.

We haven't set a specific age to being done. We had LO at 30 and want our kids pretty close together, so we will be done sooner than later if things work out.

I'm team Who Cares. As long as there aren't any physical issues that would cause a doctor to advise against it, then I don't really see age being too big of a factor. I actually haven't even thought about what age I would consider myself too old to have another child. (I'm 29, so I feel like I have a lot of years to decide.)

I turned 25 2 days before DS was born, 27 6 days before DD1 was born, and this LO was born 3 months before I turned 30. Pretty sure we are done, so I was done before 30. If we were to have another one, I think I would want to have the baby by 32-33, just because I wouldn't want them spaced too much

I had my boys at 33 and 35. Ideally... if I can talk DH into it... I want one more before I'm 40. I had 2 textbook pregnancies (one loss in between), so age has just been a number so far and I won't put a hard and fast limit on it.

Honestly, looking back on it, I would much rather have had them older when we could afford everything that went with them than younger. But we are done bc dude, no more babies no matter what age. Sleeeeeep.

I said 30 not really because I don't want to have babies older than that, but because we want two max and the age gap past that would be beyond our ideal. I would've been fine with being older but DH and I made the decision to have them younger.

If we have another (big if) it will be by 35. My other three are all spaced 2 years apart, and i don't want a huge gap in time between the third and fourth.

I think if we have another one, we will start trying next summer when I am 38 and DH is almost 39. I was unsure about having children until I was 35 so we got a late start. I consider myself very lucky that at 36, I was able to get pregnant very quickly and had a really healthy pregnancy. But I admit that I am really worried about the complications and problems with the baby that occur more frequently the older you get. So it is very possible that we will be one and done.
