I found a non-alcoholic version of our favorite wine that we've used to toast our engagement, wedding, and most Thursday nights, so I'm wanting to make a label to go over it and present it to him when we get our BFP. There's an adorable Etsy shop that makes cute little stick-on wine labels but I can't decide what to put on it. Maybe "T + P = 3" (our initials) with a baby carriage underneath? Anyone with suggestions?
For our first BFP I went out and bought a blank card. On the front I wrote "We need to talk.." on the inside I wrote "Look up!" As I walked into the door, I gave him the card and as soon as he looked up I held up the pregnancy test at eye level, smiled and said "I'm pregnant."
I have absolutely no clue what I'll do the second time around.
My H is a big fisher man and golfer. I think if it happens, I want to incorporate it into something with that. I have thought about mabe getting him a lure and writing on it, or buying a small fishing hat with a tag that says "future fishing buddy". Or putting the positive pee stick in a new box of golf balls.
I have all these ideas, but I am sure when it happens I will be a total idiot and just cry and look at him like a fool. Story of my life.
These ideas are so cute! I want to say id do something memorable like buy a cake that says "congrats on making a human with your genitals" (google it, its real!) But id probably just cry a lot haha
I just pretty much told my hubs last time we were pregnant. Nothing special.
This time I want to do a picture. It will have DS in his police pedal car in his little uniform I made him with a sign that says "Every hero needs back-up". Then I want to get (or borrow) a fire truck pedal car and put a sign on it that says "Staging until Month/year"
DH is an officer and I was a firefighter. We have lots of banter between us about fire/police. He always comments that all fire does is stage on calls and never actually responds. So fire is staging for 9 months. Hehe. :P
*bumping under a new name since July 2014*
Married 9/4/11 BFP 4/5/09, EDD 12/4/09, m/c 7/31/09 BFP 5/27/11, EDD 1/17/12, DS born 1/16/12 BFP 8/16/14, EED 4/29/15, We are having another BOY!
Yup. DS is Tommy Pickles! Nothing like living with an escape artist. Just another cloth diapering, baby wearing mama.
I didn't do anything creative the first time, just showed him the test. The second time, I woke him up and told him, "I took a test and I think you'll be interested in the results."
I'd like to do something cute next time around but we'll see how things go. I did just pick up some cheap alphabet magnets from Target so I could put a message on the fridge. Or we just got a "best brother ever" shirt for our son whenever it becomes relevant, so I could snap a pic of him in the shirt.
I'm not really into elaborate announcements, though, generally.
