Trying to Get Pregnant

Creative Ways to Tell SO!

So I know we always say the way we told our SO about our (hopefully soon) BFP's. And I know a lot of ladies here are TFAS, so Im curious if anyone has any creative ways they plan to or told their SO!

I don't know about you guys, but I think about how I would like to tell my SO a lot, and with pinterest or what not, there are so many cool ways out there to do it. Just wondering if anyone else has thought about it or done anything cool!

Also trying to come up with good ways to pass the time until I can test without driving myself crazy.

  • I'm going to give him a high five and say "we did it, dude!"
Hahahaha. I actually really like that. Pllllllease do it.

  • I did his favorite cake that said "Baby Garcia due Nov, 2014" with the pregnancy we MC'd. Next time I think I'll get a t-shirt that says something similar and see how long it take him to realize what the shirt says!

  • @Jags8 lol. Thats pretty hilarious. Are you really considering it? If so that gets my vote.

@DenaMaree Sorry to hear about your loss. But I love both ideas! The cake is so cool. I like the t-shirt too. I am not even close to that organized. lol

  • I bought a book about daddy and me. It was on sale for $5 so I got it and I'm keeping it in my night stand. When I do get my BFP I'll wrap the book and give it to him.

  • This last time I picked him up from work and said, "Am I crazy or do you see it too?" and shoved my pee stick in his face. Not so romantic or cute. Ended in mc, but when it happens again I might do something cuter.

@WombThereItIs‌ I'm totally serious. It's just our kind of humor.
  • I'm terrible at keeping secrets from my husband so I'm planning to just use a HPT when he is home and then show him the positive result. But I've learned my lesson and won't test until I'm 100% late.

  • My H collects guitar picks, so I got him this. I haven't been able to give it to him yet, but I love how cute and simple it is.

    Diagnoses: Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, PCOS
  • I'm boring, I'll only test when he's home and we can look at it together. If it ever happens I imagine it will be a "holy shit, it actually worked" kind of moment.

  • I have a card that I plan to give him that I bought awhile ago about being a new dad. I keep thinking ill set it on his night stand and tell him that way (I get up before he does). I also give him notes and cards on random days so I don't think he will suspect. However, at this point I think I'd be so in shock that I will probably just run into the room screaming at him, haha!

  • With DD I didn't do anything planned. I jumped in bed and stuck the pee stick in his face. It took him a minute since he was coming out of a dead sleep, but once he woke up he was excited lol. I try to test when he's at least home so I can tell him immediately. He was half of the equation, I feel like he deserves to know as soon as possible.

We are already planning to "tell" our family by dressing DD in a big sister tee when we all hang out and see who notices first. I won't buy the shirt until I turn a BFP. Partly I'm superstitious and partly worried she will grow out of it before we are ready to announce.
  • With DS, it was "can you come tell me if I'm crazy?" to be sure I wasn't "accidentally" seeing a double line (I often have double vision - it happens.)

With baby #2, I have it in my head to do a cookie cake, since I'm mostly testing while he's at work.  Not sure of the wording yet.

  • I ordered a "big sister" bandana off etsy.  Thought it would be cute to put it on the dog so he would see it when she greeted him after work.  Since I have been POAS every day and telling him...I'm sure I won't be able to keep quiet because my FMU is when he is still home.  Maybe we'll save that for a cute announcement.

  • @itshumpday‌ oh man. Super cute. My dog would try to eat the bandana but it would be worth it.
    Due March 2016 :)

  • I am planning on asking him to help me with a homework assignment (the fun of being a double major and always being in school) by having him read me the title of "that book up there on the shelf" (What to Expect When Your Wife is Expanding) as well as to read the dedication on the inside cover (where a pic of the tests will be). I bought the book befofe we started trying and I was naive enough to think I would need it in the first cycle.

  • When I told the hubs, I just called him into the bathroom and asked him if he could see the line (I took it at 8 dpo and it was a super squinter). He came in then proceeded to argue with me that it was actually just a scratch on the test. We ended up arguing for about ten minutes about it. In the end he agreed it was a line, gave me a bit smile and kissed me. Real romantic.

This time around, it'll probably be somewhat similar if I know my husband at all.

  • @SchoolPsychSteph‌ hugs for you!

The first time I think I yelled Holy Shit! It's positive. That one ended in a loss and the next one was a phone call to him at work - honey, I peed on a stick... ready to try this again? Sooooo romantic.

I'm hoping see a BFP before it's time to quit (in other words, we decided against intervention due to our age amongst other things) so I will get a Big Sister shirt for DD to announce to DH and later, hopefully family

  • With my first I was in such shock that I just showed him the test and asked him if he saw 2 lines too. With my second I tossed him dd's clothes and asked him to get her dressed. The shirt I gave him said "big sister" on it.
This last time I just told him how excited I was for the "5" of us to move into our house (we had just closed).

  • With DD, I knew I wanted to do something cute. I also knew I was super OCD. I charted and on 8dpo I tested in the evening on $tree test. I thought I saw a hint of a shadow of a line. I ran downstairs and said "I think I see a shadow, do you see a shadow?!" Anything cute I wanted to do went out the window.

If anyone is interested I saw OshKosh has an "I <3 Daddy" onsie for $5 that is pretty cute: https://www.oshkosh.com/oshkosh-baby-boy-tops/V_423C294.html?dwvar_V__423C294_color=Color#navID=header&start=5&cgid=oshkosh-baby-boy-tops

I was thinking of getting it to hang on the bedroom door for him to see when he comes home from work and goes to get changed, but I'm loving the bandana idea for the dog too! I had seen signs for dogs before but mine would eat it so that wouldn't have worked ;). A bandana might though!
