I think it's fitting that the first thread that I've ever started on parenting is a drinking thread. I was going to open a bottle of wine but I'm going for the vodka instead.

Don't know about me, but I'm definitely opening DH a beer when he gets home. After almost 2 hours of entertaining DS on the deck while they were locked out, my MIL brought a spare key over. Then, he took DS to my BIL's house to enjoy their power. He had a radio interview sprung on him at 4, thank God my MIL was around to watch DS. I'm home now and we have power, but the power company said they can't guarantee it will stay on. Hooray! He's headed home with DS and then has to work until 9. He deserves a beer for sure. If the power goes out again, he might lose it.

The electrician is here right now so I'm not quite sure what our dinner plans are. We are going to go get crabs if he isn't here for too long, which means I have to drive, so I'm going to hold off on drinking for now.

18 months and he nurses to sleep for me both other people can get him to sleep without it. I would suggest a trial run with you there but your mom or whoever handling any wake ups. They'll figure it out but it might make you feel better to be close the first time.

We bought ours used. We got it for about $700 cheaper because we had enough cash to back it up. That's about all I've got to give to you. Oh, it might help to bring someone who knows their way around cars. That way, if something is a little "off" with the car (minor, of course) you could use that as a bargaining chip.

ETA by "cash to back it up" I mean we offered them more down.

Also, @bearsbearsbears, know who you're buying it from. Granted we got a deal for ours, but afterwards we found out what type of SCUM these car dealers were. So, if you don't go to a more known place like CarMax, really really REALLY know what kind of dealership you're...dealing with. GL!
