I may have just freaked out the stylist that I just booked a partial foil and a trim with.
I told her I was 9 months pregnant and JUST decided to get my color touched up before my due date. I think she stuttered a bit and went to put a drop cloth down under her chair.
So excited. Been wanting to do this for months!
I'm due on the 19th and scheduled my full color/highlights and color for July 12th, just like I normally would. I've got to keep making plans like a normal human being so I don't end up lying around my house trying to will myself into labor.
I just found out a Dunkin Donuts opened up about a half hour from here. I am beyond excited... I will for sure go there once this baby comes and my GD is gone. I hope it is as good as I am remembering. I feel like I might be setting myself up for disappointment with how excited I am!
I just bought a blueberry cake donut the other day for the first time in years - it was not as good. On the other hand, the munchkins and blueberry muffin were great!
I have a box of brownie mix in my pantry. I was gonna wait and make it while I'm laboring so I don't have much of a chance to eat them, but DH and our Doulas can go at them. I'm considering making them now and eating them all myself.
So I think I need to have the dr stop checking me at my appts. I know darn well it means nothing but for some reason I like knowing. Today, I'm almost 4cm and 80% effaced. Now all I want to do is get this little guy out! I will be finishing laundry up and trying to straighten everything up around the house. Maybe some nesting and sitting on the exercise/birthing ball will get him moving! (Sorry for the slightly "I'm so done post")

I don't mind those kind of posts as long as they're not their own thread.
I just found out our favorite taco stand inside our local farmer's market is closing due to health issues of the owners. I don't think I've ever grieved for a food before. Making tacos at home won't even be the same any more because we always bought their house blend taco seasoning and homemade tortillas.

You will not be disappointed. At the very least, you may become addicted to the iced coffee. And the sour cream donuts.
I haven't had time to catch up on the board, participate much, or write a birth story yet, but AW----- here's my squish...at birth, on the 4th (still in hospital), and yesterday at 4 days old.
I was in the elevator with some British guys (not from my company) that were talking about something. I thought I heard them keep saying "This asshole project blah blah. Other asshole project blah blah". Then I got off the elevator with CWs and it turned out they were saying "This Sasol project..." Coworkers thought I was really dumb.
Just in case a full moon isn't enough, there will be a super moon on the 12th!! I am probably a little too excited about that, but here is to some wishful thinking that it brings on labor!!
Ugh. I'm letting things a few internet strangers are saying get to me. It's got to be my hormones still being wacky because normally this wouldn't bug me so much, but it feels like they are implying I'm a bad mother and don't know what's right or best for my family and it's pissing me off. I'm trying to just let it be/walk away from it, but it's bugging me more than it should and I'm finding it hard not to say something back.
Ok, vent over. Looks like I'll be sticking to our BMB for awhile to keep me out of trouble.
@mrscurlygurl Just the 0-3 month board. Apparently it's beyond their scope of imagination that you can start to have a schedule (which also leads to sleep training) before the kid is 6 months old and I must have been starving DS when he was 8 weeks old and not waking me for a MOTN feeding.

Do it! And then you just go ahead and ship some to me
Just wanted to say "I missed you girls!!" Happy to be back! Finally settled in a bit after having DD and was able to catch up on the thread, 300 posts back.
Now off to the other threads!

That's ridiculous. Babies show patterns very early on - maybe not all babies, but DS sure did. I started the whole eat, play, sleep thing when he was around 7 weeks old because I was starting to go crazy when I felt like he was screaming for no reason (turns out he was just tired and wanted to be put down!). He didn't sleep through the night for a while after that, but he would only wake up once and our days were a lot better immediately.
I'm starting with this baby earlier - I'll have to feel it out, but I'm definitely not waiting until 7 weeks!
You're not crazy. Maybe schedule is the wrong word...it's more like a rotation or pattern, but 6 months of that misery would have put me in my grave!
Ok.. AW post here, but I'm so stinkin excited, I had to share! I actually managed to get off my butt today and pet sit, grocery shop, and design/make/finish this jellyfish hair bow holder! I'm feeling very accomplished for a 39+4 preggo.
- just took a lovely nap, and dreamed that we had a bump potluck. It was really fun and @mrscurlygurl made really good fried chicken and @litera brought me Mac & Jacks beer and it was so damn good! Also, everyone had little babies and they were all perfect and adorable.
- I'm hungry now, and pathetically waiting for the UPS guy to drop off my subscribe and save box from amazon, because I discovered that my favorite chips I thought were discontinued were on there! Can't wait to devour them.
@jnnfrrose6, that's some BS. Are these FTMs who can't understand that? Even so...that's just silly. DS definitely had a schedule/pattern by 8 weeks if I recall.
@mrscurlygurl No idea how many (if any) kids they had. Basically, someone asked about a 4week old having/being on a schedule and they were told babies that young don't need to be on a schedule and to not worry about it for a few months. That may work for some people, but I started getting DD on a schedule last week based on the success we had with starting DS around the 3 week mark per guidance from an in home consultation with Moms on Call and following the methods in their book. It's not like it's that much different from making sure your kid is eating every 2-3 hours, the only difference is at night working to stretch out when they wake to eat (basically make sure the kid is actually hungry before sticking a boob in the mouth). I expressed the fact that this is what we do in our home and it works for us and they were just going on about how awful it is to have a baby that young on a schedule and if they wake in the night they MUST be hungry instead of just taking it as another persons experience that works for them.
Now, I would like some of your fried chicken that @missquela seems to think you would do very well
I wanted to bake cookies, but we have no chocolate chips. So...I made cake, that I can't even eat, lol.
My damn riblets are still partially frozen and I want to get on with dinner dammit.
There has been some serious family drama in my house today and the only thing keeping me going is the thought of riblets and cream cheese mashed potatoes.
Me tooooo! Hoping its a sign of impending labor that I had an urgent urge to make chocolate chip cookies! Ps, cream cheese mashed potatoes?! I'm intrigued...
I am so cliche tonight.
Barefoot and pregnant and in the kitchen.

Hah! Same here, and I just got chocolate chips today! I'm also wondering about these cream cheese mashed potatoes. Recipe?

Boil potatoes. Drain. Beat with a mixer and add a stick or so butter, a package of cream cheese and a healthy dash of seasoned salt.
Put in oven safe dish and bake for 10 or so min. Gets a bit of a golden brown crusty top.
You may have to play with the portions of the ingredients depending on how big a batch you make. I like a lot of cream cheese but you have to watch out you don't make them soupy.
So good.
You could also add pepper, my mom is allergic so most of my recipes don't have it.
My cankles are so swollen, I couldn't get my skinny jeans off over them this afternoon. Seriously, I'm disgusted and they hurt.
I scheduled a hair cut and color for next Tuesday evening, so probably I'll go into labor then. I desperately need this haircut.
Is it worth it to wax at this point, or should I just say forget it? My doc did a cervical check, so she is aware of what is/ is not going on down there anymore...
That happened with me about a month ago except with my cowgirl boots, took a good half hour, bitching, and some crying to finally get them off because i was home alone. It hurt so bad! They're officially retired until my legs/feet are normal again :P

Sounds delicious! I may have to try that out while waiting for this baby to come!
I still have a hard time watching HIMYM reruns because of how irritated I am from the series finale and how they ended it. It totally sucks because I used to never get tired of those reruns and they are on all.the.time. and would make for perfect background TV watching while feeding DD or those times when I want to just close my eyes and zone out on the couch but not actually nap.
@symphony4586 -- LOL I may be the white knight you're referring to... I def left a comment on the blog. I actually really liked her pictures and I felt bad that she was so involved here and then went away. Idk what actually happened. But I'm pretty sure Bumpies don't call someone out unless it's justified FWIW. I just have issues with conflict. :P
Re: Random thread- for all things random.
Taco tears! I had those during 1st tri!
Oddly enough, I remember this.
Snert.

Apparently no where is safe.
Hugs. I'm sorry he's such a dirtbag.

I just wanted to know if I was going to die of blood loss. Now he's offering to shave it for me.
Dear god.
