H made pulled pork for his coworkers tomorrow. Had some. It was delicious. H is making cognac vanilla cheesecake with port wine raspberry sauce. I've been the test subject for the sauce. This is a good night.
Nice big glass of moscato here. Dad got here today, we all had dinner(DH grilled burgers and hot dogs)one my half sisters kept grabbing J instead of letting her walk around and play and my step mom made small talk but acted like someone stole Christmas. No one mentioned watching J...this is looking like it's going to be a fun weekend
Laying here feeling the house shake and listening to the rain and wind from Arthur. Just caught up on all the words. Thank you ladies for distracting me. :-) Hope everyone enjoyed their wine!
So Tyler seems fine after a full night's sleep. He's being very lovey and fun, maybe the fall knocked some sense into him? It certainly did to my husband...
My husbands in denial, he trying to cook this huge 5 pound pork on the pit for us to eat around 1. He didn't wake up earlier to put it on and everything I've read says 7+ hours I better go buy a back up plan. Ughhh men :-@
I mean I guess. H admitted that he didn't want me not to trust him to watch the kids while I was out, so that's why he was being weird. Accidents happen but being a sketchball doesn't help anything
Just how I wanted to spend N's first bday - at Urgent Care because I feel terrible. And most Urgent Cares are closed today because of the holiday, so I had to drive a ways to get to this one. Then the road with the Urgent Care is closed for a parade and I had to walk 1/3 mile to et here in front of all the parade goers.
I just want to cry. This isn't how N's bday should be!
At least she doesn't know it's her bday right? And at least we couldn't get the rental location for her party on the 4th and had to get it on the 5th so her party isn't today - hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow!
@WasNotWas, I went to Target for 30 minutes. While I was gone, LO pushed over a chair and one of the legs cracked. I'm glad she was okay, but I was a little annoyed. I had just told him that she's started pushing things around, so you have to be careful. Her new nickname is SheRa.
@steamboat123 our one boxer is very possessive of his food. If the kids even walk remotely by him when he is eating he will growl. We ended up hiring a dog behaviorist after ds2 was born because he snapped at ds1 a few times (thankfully he didn't hurt him and it only happened twice) but she said to never leave the kids around the dogs when they are eating. I don't know if you free feed but we feed 2 meals a day. We make sure the dogs eat when we do and if for some reason the kids aren't eating at the time we keep them out of the kitchen. Glad your little one is ok. Some dogs are very possessive of their food and will snap/bite of somebody gets near their bowl.
@Nix55 exactly! I have told him repeatedly but he got up to wash dishes instead of sitting with him. It's worse because at school they sit at tiny tables in tiny chairs so he can push his chair back without tipping it no problem.
@Monkeybutt80 is work ok? You had layoffs recently, (I think) no more major shake ups.
@steamboat123 I just saw this. Yep. It was a bit drama filled and depressing the week after the layoffs. Then, this week I have been gone for my husband's family reunion. I thought about canceling the trip but decided to just go with it after checking with my boss again. It's been scheduled for months and my boss knew about it and he was ok with it. We are now driving back home( and I'm catching up on the spam thread ). Hopefully I still have my job when I get back to work on Monday! Thanks for asking
I need to figure out how to avoid Mosquitos at all costs. I've started getting hives from them every time I get bit. Last time, it took 50mg of prednisone to make them ease. Hopefully that doesn't happen this time.
I had an awesome 10k race today! I beat about 28,000 people (and about that many beat me)!
Slowest time to date, but considering I haven't run this far since the same race 2 years ago, and felt fantastic doing it, and ran with a friend for most of the time - it was an *awesome* race!
I'm definitely remembering why I love running so much. I need to find my next race to get pumped up about!
KJ's party was awesome! We had more than enough food and drinks for the 40+ people that came and all the decorations worked out nicely. I loved seeing KJ in her bee dress. She looked so cute! We set up a play room in the formal living room (which we never use) and she loved playing with the kids in there. She wasn't too crazy about cake. After some licks of the icing and a few bites of the cake she asked to get out of the chair. Here are a few pics:
So far the weekend with my dad isn't bad. He hasn't mentioned watching J all day, she's been doing ok, only crying a little, but when he goes to reach for her, she starts whimpering. I guess he talked to DH and didn't think he was still watching her, but he told him they were...from 11-4, a little longer than I was hoping for so I know I'll probably be a small wreck tomorrow. I'm giving extra cuddles now. Here's hoping things go good tomorrow and the time from her flies.
Heading home after a week in Mexico. I've read most of the words while laying on the beach. It was a great relaxing week. Cannot wait to see O this afternoon. Got to FaceTime with her everyday and she had fun with her grandparents all week.
FFSC: There were moments on this trip I forgot I even had a kid. It was really good for us as a couple to forget about the real world for a bit and reconnect. There's a lot to be said for some alone time!
That sounds great! I felt that way when we went on our beach getaway a few months back. It's so nice to truly getaway and be a couple like old times. And it's great to have people we trust to watch N!
Party day!!! I feel much better than yesterday. Not 100% yet but I don't think my sore throat will hold me back today. I have a long to do list to finish getting everything ready! I'll post pics later hopefully!
Re: Girl you look good, won't you back that SPAM up
Also, I have a good FFFC, but I doubt I remember or am brave enough to post it in the AM.
