@matthew930 awww hope you feel better quickly! I had it on Monday and still suffering in the aftermath a bit... and DS threw up once-- I was scared he got it too but thankfully not. I know how icky you must feel first hand. Not fun!
Such a frustrating day! LO failed her hearing test for the 2nd day. She was passing and almost finished, and then the pediatrician came in and interrupted to check her out and she didn't pass the 2nd try. They think she's fine and just has fluid in her, still, so now have to come back in 2 weeks for another try. Then she decided she wanted to sleep all day and not eat. She just refuses. And we are probably going to have to supplement formula tomorrow because of the weight she is losing. And the nurse heard a slight murmur the most recent time she listened to her heart. I just want to cry and want one thing to start going positive! Here is hoping a little sleep will get these emotions under control!
Probably just me being extra pregnabitchy, but the way people keep mixing up "lightening" (the baby 'dropping') and "lightning" ('lightning crotch,' etc.) is so damn irritating.
I just woke up from a dream and now I'm wiiiide awake. In my dream, I had my doc check me out because of the cramping I was experiencing (the cramping is real life) and she said we need to do a c-section right away and sent me home to pack a bag. We came home and couldn't find a single thing to put in my bag! Like literally anything...clothes, toiletries, nothing. Now I'm all stressed out. Haha ugh, come on brain...

@ichabody, don't wait until your first postpartum appt. I sincerely regret waiting that long. Meds really turned my life around that first year.
This ^^. I think the first one is 6 weeks? I would get on the phone now. It is great that you recognized it, but now begin the process of treatment. You won't regret it.
@honeybee434 - I'm sorry about your frustrating day. I hope you get answers about your LO soon.
@2lacyblue - i think you've pretty much got it - that's how mine started last time. Maybe everyone is different though.
@MSUDucks Yeah, she's just being extra stubborn! Nothing seems to work right now! Supplementing her with formula now, and it actually ended up being a little relieving because she is as least getting enough to eat, now! She gobbled her first two servings down, poor thing!
FTM probs... I just had to google "contractions" because I realized I have no idea what to expect. I totally imagined the pain to come from the top of the uterus like squeezing the baby out a tube of toothpaste.
.
I thought it would feel "from the top" also, but the best I can describe it is that in early labor it's just a low cramps ache. If you don't complain about period cramps, you seriously won't even notice it. I first knew I was having contractions because the nurse saw them on the monitor thingy. As far as the process of moving into active labor, it progresses to serious, strong low uterine cramps. Think about right between the lowest part of your hip bones. If you are overweight, the best way to describe it is right below your FUPA. And it's STRONG. I had some of it wrap around to my back but that's a lot harder to describe.
All in all though, just thing wildly strong period cramps, and no it doesn't come from the top of your uterus.
A good friend of mine was due on Thursday and had her baby this morning. I'm super happy for her and her husband, yet irrationally jealous that she got to meet her son and I'm still waiting.
Make that 2 good friends of mine who had their babies today. The one was overdue but this 2nd one is a week and a half early. Ugghhhhhhh when will it be my turn?!?!?!?!?!
Well, your ticker says you're 37 weeks..so in 3 weeks or so?
So, I was watching the Blair witch project and it just occurred to me after all this time.
Who was holding the last camera? Mike was in the corner. Heather was obviously far away because her screams sounded distant (the camera would have been shaken if she were holding it too because of how scared she was) and josh was most likely dead due to the wrapped up body parts found right after his disappearance. How creepy would it be if it were the witch holding the camera? *shudders*
I think I'm getting sick . On top of the nausea, backaches and heartburn, I now have an ear ache, yuck!
Oh, and somehow I managed to get my chest sunburnt in the shade at the ball game yesterday. At least it is not terribly painful, but it looks bad!
And because I don't want to leave a total Debbie downer post, my DH went out to run errands himself so I can lay down and relax the rest of the morning. He is the best!
Hope you aren't getting too sick! DS got a spot of sun on his cheek yesterday (guessed I missed sunscreen there ). I put some lavender oil on it last night and it's hardly red at all now.
I am annoyed that mister went to go help his BFF move today. We still have a lot to get done around the house. He didn't really tell me he was helping until yesterday afternoon when I was too tired to do stuff around the house. A lot of it is moving heavy things that I'm just not able to do. Or stuff like his bicycles are sitting in the way of the dresser and stuff like that.

All this awakeness has me in deep thought lol
I can't love tit this because now I'm a little scared at the thought of who was holding the damn camera. Dammit @jensavicci!
It's a really creepy thought right! It could even be josh holding it (since he disappeared and his death wasn't definite although, very likely) but, it's creepier to think it was the witch.
So my baby shower went fairly well. Other then being told by the hostess (mother) that my belly looks misformed in front of everyone and I had someone go that I have never met. My family is very open so no biggy but she never even said a word to me. Didn't introduce herself or anything. She did give me a card with some cash in it that left me really puzzled. Like who are you & um... where do I send a thank you card?
@ichabody - hugs and I hope you can talk to your OB right away.
Well, we survived DS1's birthday and party today -- it was an awesome day actually! We have the BEST family, friends, and neighbors. NOW it truly feels like baby time! Eek!
I asked my granny to make the baby's crib bedding. The only direction I gave her was to use calico prints and patchwork. Oh man, she went above and beyond.
This is the crib skirt. Just the skirt! She is amazing and I can't wait for this to be an heirloom piece for our family.

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.
My FIL asked to speak to me on the phone today after he was done talking to DH. Great- this is the first time he has reached out to me like this. Maybe we're bonding.
Within two minutes he point blank asked me how much weight I have gained. Congrats, FIL, you are the first person to ask me that. Thanks for the bonding.
Oh hellllll no January Bride! How did you respond?!
I didn't know what to do...I was so taken aback!
FIL lost about 100 lbs . a few years ago with Weight Watchers because he was very obese (had a heart attack), so he is just obsessed with other people's weight.
Because of this, I think he is used to talking about weight, so I answered him (I didn't want to make it more awkward, but I DID lie and tell him five pounds less than I've gained ). But then he said that must be weird for me, and I felt like I had to defend my weight gain, so I said yes, it's the most I have ever weighed and it was over a quarter of my body weight. He said "well, I was wondering what percentage it was, but I didn't want to get too personal..."
Too late, bud! I gave the phone back to DH as quickly as possible. The whole thing was just weird and uncomfortable. I told DH that his Dad can NOT ask me about my weight anymore. Bleh....
Wow @January Bride your FIL sounds delightful! I think you handled it way better than most people so I give you major credit!
I think this baby has a bit of a twisted sense of humor already! Every u/s he hides his face so we can't see and then to top things off I had light contractions every 20 minutes yesterday and called my mom to come stay with us and nothing happened overnight. I know I'm early but I did get a bit excited at the possibility of meeting him!

my MIL asked me this every single time she saw me for several months. I told her I stopped looking, which was true and she asked me to guess and I said "I have no idea". She also consistently compares me to the girl at her work due around the same time, who I've come to learn is much smaller than me.
I understand how you feel. It doesn't feel great!! I don't understand why it's so interesting either to other people.
Re: Random thread- for all things random.
-Still can't believe I ended up in the June club.
-Possibly teetering on the edge of PPD. I'm trying to stay positive but some of this is just very overwhelming.
@2lacyblue uh...is that...not how it works? Off to google!

You couldn't pay me enough to go in that house lol I know it's not real and all but eh, it stills freaks me out. How'd you manage to visit the house?
