FFFC!

Re: FFFC!

  • Oh everyone, please calm down! I just wanted to say something shocking to keep the thread interesting, and I suppose it worked. I certainly do not dislike this child at all, nor am I mean to her! I like her, she's cute, but yes I do prefer my other friend's children. They are cuter, but that is definitely not the ONLY reason! Her kids are a little older, at a more "fun" age and they interact with me, and I do see them on a much more regular basis, so they know me and love when I come over to play. The other friend's kid just doesn't really do that much so I have a harder time interacting with her.

Sorry! I promise I'm not that shallow. It's really not about the cuteness thing, that's more of an after-thought due to my favoritism (still bad, I'm aware!).
    Oh, the back pedaling.
It's true, really! Ugh, I feel bad. I'm sorry for all I offended with my thoughtless "FFFC". I'm really not a terrible person! I hope I haven't become "that poster" on the O'14 board and will be blacklisted by everyone. I like it here...  :-S
I wouldn't fret, OP. It was one random comment. I personally don't have the time or desire to memorize and keep track of who says what every day and hold it again them. Most aren't going to blacklist a virtual stranger based on one paragraph on an internet message board. Plus, lots of comments on Oct14 encourage controversial, juicy confessions, so I think you gave us what we asked for. I can always tell someone spiced things up when I see "83 new" next to a discussion topic!

  • I totally favor cute children. For example, two very good friends of mine both have young kids that I see often. One has literally the cutest two kids I've EVER seen, and I adore them. When I'm around them, I want to just play with them and pick them up and hold them. My other friend's kid is not so cute, and I honestly don't really pay her much mind when I'm around. I show the bare minimum amount of interest just so I don't come off as rude in front of her parents. I'll be like "Oh, hiiiii (her name)" and smile at her then immediately divert my attention elsewhere. Isn't that just awful??
This does kind of suck. DD is pretty cute (don't get me wrong, she has her really annoying moments too), but she was born with a cleft that involves her lip and nose. I barely notice it but always wonder if she will be teased or treated differently because of it. So hearing this isn't reassuring.
People can suck in that respect. I don't feel like anyone's immune from being made fun of. I doubt it's that noticeable to anyone! The picture you have she looks pretty darn cute to me! Also, Joaquin Phoenix...plenty of ladies think he's pretty damn sexy.
***end quote*** I'm pretty sure DD has the exact same type of cleft as Joaquin Phoenix. It's funny you mention him because most people have never heard of a microform cleft. Thank you all for your reassurance, I usually don't worry about it much, but it gets to me sometimes.

Don't let it worry you. From what I can see she's adorable. And i know this was an FFFC but wow that post by noonandoj4 just made me sad - bc its stuff like that in the adult world that teaches too many people to judge based on looks versus whats on the inside.

  • I have two: 1. My brother in law and father in law are bachelors and when they come to stay with us they insist on cleaning up if we cook for them, but they put the dishes into the dishwasher after only barely rinsing and leaving most of the food on them. I know dishwashers are supposed to take food off but it has been my experience that doesn't happen if you don't run the dishwasher immediately and it cakes on. It drives me nuts.... So when they're not paying attention I go into the dishwasher and re-rinse all of the dishes. I feel fussy, but at least that way I don't stop them from trying to do something nice and can still have clean dishes. 2. I have one co-worker who drives me nuts and I prefer to not have to communicate with her on the phone if possible (I work remote), so whenever she calls I pretend to be on a call and IM her that I'm on a call and then she has to email or IM me what she wants. If she asks me to call her when I'm off I lately claim pregnancy brain and forget and then when she tries me again, say I'm back on the phone. I just sometimes am less than patient with her and probably come off that way, so think its easier to avoid verbal communication as much as possible.

  • @jalara48‌ A classist? Wait, what?
  • @noonandj04‌ Apology accepted, I know it sucks to say something that unintentionally hurts someone. I don't keep post its, we have a clean slate.
