Tandem feeding two sleepy but ravenous girls. They nurse for a few minutes, fall asleep, scream at me when I nag them awake because they're starving, nurse some more, fall back asleep... lol.
I slept through my MOTN pump session and woke up covered in milk with super sore tatas. It's been a long night.
Tiny person slept nine to two, awesome. Then he woke up at 430 because of gas. O calm him down, get him back to sleep without feeding him, am about to drop off and at 515 his sister wakes up. Fine. I go upstairs, get her back in bed because shit no. Just as she's calming down and I think I might get a few more minutes, tiny person starts wailing for food. Its too damn early.
Sleep is not happening for me tonight. It's 4am and I have had an hour. Little one has decided he hates his crib tonight. Fml. We go see the pedi at 9am and I'm praying I can get at least 2 more hours.
Think I'm losing my mind. Early this morning LO started fussing to be fed. I was half asleep and thought I heard on the baby monitor someone in his room shushing him. I shot out of bed and ran in his room and of course no one was there but baby. I scared the crap out of dh. Only thing I can think of is that I made the shushing noise in my sleep. Creeped me out for the rest of the night.
Stopped in the bathroom on my way to feed LO and there was a ton of blood. To the point where it spilled onto the floor when I pulled my underwear down. I had changed my pad 2 hours prior. Now I am BFing and scaring myself about possible hemmorage. We will see if I soak thru this pad in an hour. Ugh.
It could just be some clots or pooling that occurs when you're laying down. I had that happen a few times in my first couple weeks. Even sitting for an extended period would do it too. @otter1103 how long did that last for you? Seems like it keeps getting a little heavier and I thought it would be lightening up by now 9 days pp. Recovery from vag birth is way slower than I expected.

I would be getting no sleep the rest of the night! Scary!
@whoberry it got lighter after a week or just over but I also had a csection so comparison is hard. The gushes after laying down or sitting were a couple weeks though. Like very light flow except for first thing after getting out of bed. I would put a thicker pad on afterwards thinking it would stay heavy and it would taper off.
LO sleeps so good at night (like for 4 or 5 hours at a time sometimes) and I'm so exhausted all the time that I'm so knocked out during the night. I keep waking up whenever LO wakes up to eat feeling so engorged and now I'm thinking my supply is down. It's stressing me out. Between taking care of him and my 16 month old, I fear it's going to be impossible to work on getting my supply up. My goal this time was to have a little bit of an over supply so that I could start a freeze stash, but now I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.
I broke down. DH took her. She seems a little better now but I still think she wants to eat on the hour. She also spit up 3 times and peed on the pad and all over herself as I changed her poopy diaper, so she had to be bathed and changed. What a night. (
@BMaidPlanner I feel like we might be having the same night. *hugs*
My LO has been cluster feeding for the past 3 hours eats for maybe 15on then 15 off. Pooped out a diaper so bad she had to take a bath. Peed in the bath, on me and pooped again on the changing pad. Now she is feeding again after she just spit upon me for the 4th time.
I think this is Henry's first night cluster feeding. Up since one on and off each boob about fifteen min and my milk just came in today so idk if he's adjusting or not. I've changed a lee diaper, and dh changed a poo/pee diaper, and ds puked down my sleep bra. I'm too tired to change it.
C has been awake for an hour and a half. I fed him, he had pooped (the most disgusting poop ever), and now I'm pumping while I rock him. I just want sleep but he's wide awake. If he's not asleep in an hour I'm getting H to take him.
DS, love being able to say that, will only nurse if we are skin to skin. I love the skin to skin but it's a slight pia to compleat lay undress him every time. I really can't complain though he is just so sweet!
We have to undress DS every time too, it gets a little annoying but hey whatever he needs I will do it

I just let DD sleep in just her diaper and swaddle her in a warmer blanket or two blankets. I got to frustrated trying to dress and undress her every time.

We had to had to completely undress J for about the first week or so and then he got the hang of it. Congrats on little man
I just did my first MOTN feeding without DH, I can do it by myself! DH didn't wake up when he started fussing so I figured I would give it a try by myself. I am so excited for when DS wakes up in 4 hours and DH looks at the clock to see that it is morning time, I am excited that I got to give him the gift of 8 hours because he has been so amazing taking care of me after my c/s and taking care of DS.
We are so buying a pacifier when i get discharged...
Ask the hospital if they have one for you. They usually have the soothie types. I had to ask when I was in because he wouldn't settle unless on the breast. The nurse gave him one and he went straight to sleep.

D was super fussy his second night too, wanted to be on the boob constantly. After about 6 hours, I made a comment to my nurse about wanting a pacifier and she brought one in. Ask... they may actually have them!
@skamber have you tried gripe water? My LO is colicky too and gripe water was pretty magical.
I bought some but the age/dosage on the back tripped me up because she's not quite 2 weeks yet. I'm so torn on what to do
I would wait until she's two weeks old, just to be safe. We gave it to DS the past two nights. The first night, he went to sleep 10 minutes later! Last night, he screamed for another hour afterwards We'll keep trying it though, anything to try and soothe him.
I should feel shameful but with postpartum pupps, a fussy baby who is spitting up what looks like chunky milk curds, and sore nips...I am gonna eat some dang pizza this late because we forgot to have dinner.

Time is all relative with a newborn anyway. Enjoy the pizza!
We're still in the hospital and I haven't slept since yesterday at 2pm. But DD2 swallowed a lot of amniotic fluid and has been coughing it up and gagging on it. It's freaking me out and making it impossible for me to sleep.
@BMaidPlanner The nurses knew and said it was pretty normal for a baby to do and it should resolve itself within 24 hours. As soon as I posted that, she had it come out of her nose and mouth. It was everywhere. It scared me so badly. The nurse happened to come in seconds later and now baby is on her way up to the NICU with my H. I'm trying to compose myself

One of the LC's took my baby to the nursery on the night he was born because he had a lot in his tummy. When they brought him back they told me he had 15ml in his tummy. Try not to worry, mama.
@ohyealovely - my LO had a lot of fluid come out that first night too and if DH wasn't a doctor I would have been so afraid, well I was still super scared but he was so calm it helped calm me. Sorry this is happening but fx that he returns to you from the NICU soon, hang in there!
Thanks ladies. They took her up and pumped the rest out of her stomach. She's doing a lot better now and I was able to get a few hours of sleep. Now that her stomach is clear she's eating like crazy!
Both girls fed, changed and swaddled... now go to sleep for a couple hours so mama can rest! I'm pooped after my first post babies bike ride today!
Jealous! I can't wait until I'm cleared to exercise again!
Erm.. I haven't technically been cleared, heh. But I feel good and know my body and road biking is pretty low impact. I am waiting the full 6 weeks to swim though!

I cannot even fathom sitting on a bike seat and I'm 5 weeks pp.
Re: MOTN Midweek check-in 6/26

IF, 5 losses, 1 son, 1 on the way.
And he just busted out of his swaddle.
